I’ve got many wagons. I get off and get back on them regularly. This blog has been one I haven’t spent much time on, but I’m hoping to change that by getting on another wagon I’ve been off of for a year; film photography.

I recently picked up a Pentax 67 to accompany my Mamiya C3 and sent off a few test batches to Richard Photo Lab out in Velencia. We will see what turns up. I’m excited to be supplementing my digital photography with analog once again. Even when I’m not doing the development myself it still has a certain magic to it. Another wagon I’m trying to get back onto, but it’s hard with a 10 month old, is oil painting. I’m working on a commission that will hopefully be done soon and after that I think I’m going to take a very fresh approach to it and paint smaller sketches al fresco. We shall see...

Shifted Motif Number 1 I had told @cynrandphotography about this shot yesterday and while I like the black and white shot more, I thought this was a kind of neat experiment. I used my 24mm Nikkor PC-E ED Tilt-Shift lens from a very similar vantage point as the black and white photo from yesterday. What this essentially let me do was alter the perspective of the photo so that the shot appears to have been taken almost straight-on, from the side, and impossibly (if you've been to the location) while hovering about 10 feet above the surface of the water. Now, unless you knew the location well, you would have no idea that this particular perspective on Motif Number 1 would normally have to be shot with a telephoto from a house or dock at the back of the harbor and would most likely have boats in the way.
