An anything goes Tumblr blog that features mostly fandoms, comics, cartoons and cute things on Tumblr. From time to time though, there will be some personal musings.
So if your patient who ranted to you last week about COVID being a hoax ends up testing POSITIVE (along with their entire household) for the “hoax” virus and is now calling in misery because they are achy and coughing, what do you say to them?
Subsequently, what is your answer when they ask you to prescribe them a Z-pack for it?
Mao slicing the black chicken in the first episode of the new Cooking Master Boy
There are many reasons for animators to reboot an old anime series. Perhaps they want to update the drawing style and colors. Perhaps they want to draw more people to watch the old series. Perhaps they’re seeing that cooking anime is an “in” thing so they want to earn from the genre but can’t find new source material for it. Whatever the reason is, there is now a new Cooking Master Boy (CMB) anime. Touted at first to be a “sequel,” I was disappointed to find that the new CMB was not a sequel to the anime series I watched when I was a kid. It’s a reboot, but instead of starting from the very beginning of the Mao’s story, the first episode of took me straight to the Black Chicken story, which is episode 20 of the old series.

I didn’t watch all the other episodes in between the first and last anymore. The last episode of the new CMB is episode 12. Funnily, I saw what will happen after that “final” episode just few days before discovering the new series because one of the local channels here is showing reruns of the old show. Episode 12 of the new CMB corresponds to episode 42 of the old series.
I can’t help but be disappointed in how the new CMB turned out because I wanted it to truly be a sequel of the old anime. I wanted to know if Mao and his friends would find all of the legendary cookware. But I guess that if this reboot makes more people aware that an older anime exists and gets them to watch it, then I’m OK that the new CMB exists.
lmao on the edinburgh zoo site it says “there is a daily penguin parade at 14:15 but it may be cancelled last minute as it is a voulntary parade, we do not coax the penguins with food, and they may not want to go out” lmao anarchopenguinism
