It always baffles me a bit when people claim that you wrote abuse wrong when you've based the abuse in a fic or story on your own abuse and people think there is only one "right way" to be abused. Just because one person's abuse doesn't match how YOU were abused doesn't mean that it isn't valid or didn't happen.
Abuse comes in so many shapes and forms, you can't base all abuse just off your experience of it.

Fictional characters will never have agency because they are essentially barbie dolls. They never will, but that does not make playing with them and making them do things wrong.

genuinely friendly reminder to never EVER share someone’s location/information without their explicit permission. you do not know why that person is asking, what they plan to do with that information, or even if the asker has that person’s best interest in mind at all.
OP is also not exaggerating how common this is. my abusive parents successfully kidnapped me from work once because a coworker who didn’t know my situation told them when my next shift was. my parents didn’t even know where I lived at that point in time, which was very much on purpose. it took me days to get away again. ALWAYS tell the person that is being looked for that someone is looking. never share personal information or even how to get in contact them. you can take information in and pass it along, but you absolutely cannot give any out.

"DNIs," AKA "Do not interacts," go both ways. You can't harass people you dislike only to get upset when they respond back to you, claiming they're violating your DNI.
If you want people to respect your boundaries, you've got to follow them yourself, or else it doesn't mean anything.
Don't enforce boundaries on others that you're unwilling to follow yourself.
