I want to make a quick edit:
Golden Slumbers will remain on Tumblr! I will not delete this blog.
I simply will not be as active. If you have noticed my last update was 2 months ago. And I want to say that I haven’t given up writing specifically for FFXV, its just the muse has left, and no matter how much I have been attempting to chase it, it slips further away.
So instead of running after it, I’m going to give it a chance to come to me. Maybe I’ll write for our beloved boys again, maybe I won’t. I mean old fandoms I haven’t written for in years sometimes spark again.
You may see me reblog from time to time, or answer quick questions, but as of right now. No stories/drabbles will be post.
Thank you again for all understanding!

Stand by me
I want to start off by saying Thank You!
Thank you everyone! For putting up with my infrequent updates, and for making me a better writer and person!
When I think of FFXV, I think of all of you! The 3000+ of you. If anyone was to tell a young Olive that she would be able to connect with so many wonderful people through writing, honestly I wouldn’t believe it! It’s still sometimes hard to believe!
I think of everyone of you and of this blog everyday! How for the last few years you’ve stood by me when I was cranking out multiple stories a day, during job changes, and a few health scares. I love this fandom and it’s with a heavy heart that I must post that...
Golden Slumbers will not be returning from Hiatus.
I have spent months thinking about this. To try and gain that spark of writing about FFXV again, and I try but everything I write isn’t what any of you deserve from me. I only want you all to have the best, as you have made me the best.
The fandom within itself has all but disappeared, and the small spark that was once there has dwindled to just embers. Maybe one day those small embers will provide enough fire to become a roaring flame and I can provide a few better stores for you all.
Final Fantasy XV, the Chocobros, all of you! I love you all so much! and I want to thank you for putting up with me!

...so a little self indulgence because today is my birthday and I allow myself to be selfish on my birthday…

You weren’t upset…
Okay maybe you were…
No, you were beyond upset, you were livid! Pissed! Some would even say down right nettled!
Today was your birthday, the day that you blessed this world with your arrival and the only people who even seemed to care were the subscription services you had set up and your dentist office.
No text messages, no phone calls, not even a social media post!
You kind of expected it, there were so many things overshadowing your big day. Now you couldn’t exactly blame some of the others, there were a lot of new released hitting so many networks today, not to mention that there was a huge ball this weekend, but your four boyfriends! How dare! Not even a letter!
You kind of couldn’t blame Noctis, the poor prince had been known to go out wearing mismatching shoes, quite frequently, unless Ignis noticed before they left the house. Gladiolus was checking everything over for the huge ball. While Ignis you expected to have a reminder, or something, but he more than likely had his hands full making sure that Noctis and Prompto weren’t going to cause a major scandal. Speaking of Prompto, he should have recalled, he was always the first to remember, and find the most obnoxious balloon possible to bring in the apartment.
But nothing! Absolutely nothing!
You huffed as you laid on the couch, it was your birthday, so you were going to pout all you wanted! Maybe...maybe you’d get yourself a cake and hog it all to yourself. A grown woman could eat an entire cake by herself, and not even Bahamut could stop you!
You went to get ready to go get your pity cake, but as you pulled your phone off the charger you noticed that you had missed a message. From Ignis! You quickly opened the message, only to be find your anger somehow doubled.
Please bring Noctis a tie, he seemed to have left it at home on the bed. I’ll send a car to grab you.
You’d bring Noctis his tie all right! But you couldn’t be held responsible for anything that might happen to it on the way! You marched into the bedroom, finding the stupid tie laying directly on the bed where the Prince had left it. Snatching the tie up you, marched downstairs, the tie clenched tightly in you fist, not caring if it wrinkled! Serves them all right!
The entire car ride to the Citadel you pouted, tempted to just chuck the tie out the window, and tell the driver to take you to the nearest bakery! You were going to down an entire wedding cake at this point!
Leaving the car, you begin the familiar walk up the stairs, on your way to Ignis’s office only to be immediately intercepted by the familiar ladies’ in waiting who assisted you when there are formal events.
“Excuse me, Ms. Y/N, there’s an important visitor today. We were just made aware, please…” One replied, ushering you to the changing room.
“Wait, no I’m only here to drop this off.” You tried to counter holding up the reason you even set foot in the palace today. Only to find the tie that you were just moments ago thinking of lighting on fire was taken from your hand.
“We shall take care of that.”
“Please, we must hurry.”
Every argument or retort that you tried to come up with was immediately countered, as you were whisked away to get dolled up for this mysterious guest, who decided they were suddenly taking over your day. You honestly wondered if these ladies should possibly take over for the King’s Guard with how efficient.
You found it strange that you weren’t high strung dolled up, there were not bobby pins, or gallons of hairspray. The dress was huge, but not the normal red carpet, where you’re to stand there and look pretty type of dress that you typically wore for these things. If anything, you were the most comfortable you have ever been all dolled up.
“Hurry.” One of the ladies called taking your hand, seeing that you were much more relaxed with them, as they have seen you close to naked on a frequent basis.
Still you were so confused when you were lead to a ballroom, wouldn’t it have made more sense to have be received in a throne room? You went to ask, only to find all the ladies had disappeared rather quickly. You turned back to the large door, straining to hear something on the other side, but was only met with silence.
The door cracked open just a the tiniest bit, then enough for you to walk through, but all you were met with was darkness. You knew from memory that you were standing at the top of a staircase high above a beautiful ballroom, but you were surprised that it could get this dark in the middle of the afternoon.
“What the…” You muttered.
Only for all the lights to flash on, streams, glitter and pop cannons went off before you, as you flinched, immediately moving to a defensive position, summoning a flash of fire before you heard the cry of:
“SURPRISE!”
Once the shock wore off you found almost everyone you knew standing around dressed rather fancy but still quite relaxed. A large tiered cake sitting in the middle of a huge buffet with quite a few of your favorite foods! The entire room was decorated for a large party for you.
You stepped forward, having broken your defensive stance whisking the fire away, “Oh my…” You saw Prompto, in a three piece suit towards the bottom of the stairs rapid firing clicking away, he more than likely got a pretty nice picture of you ready to set this place on fire, next to him were Gladiolus and Ignis dressed similarly, but where was Noctis?
You found a hand before you, only to turn and find Noctis, standing there hand offered a blush on his face.
“Happy Birthday, Y/N.” He managed to squeak out as you took his hand allowing him to lead you down the stairs.
Once you got to your other boyfriends, you couldn’t help the smile, you should have known they wouldn’t have forgotten your birthday. It wasn’t in their nature! But still they had you going.
“Happy Birthday, Y/N.” Ignis smiled, as he placed a small tiara in your hair, an on going tradition at this point for you.
“We make you worry birthday lady?” Gladiolus chuckled, handing you a bouquet of flowers.
You gave a playful pout, only to notice the large Chocobo balloons behind the cake, Prompto’s work for sure as you laughed giving a nod.
“We wanted to throw you a huge surprise party.” Prompto replied, finally lowering the camera.
You giggled, “Well I’m surprised! Thank you.”
The next few hours were filled with quite a lot of laughs, and music and cake. You tried to convince Ignis that you could eat at least two tiers by yourself, but he had stated that he didn’t want to be the one in charge of dealing with the aftermath.
By the time that you were all crowded in the car to return home for the night, you found yourself and Prompto covered in glitter. No one was sure of where it came from as Ignis was adamant about there not being any. Noctis somehow managed to get icing under his vest on his dress shirt, Gladiolus suit jacket was missing and Ignis looked perfect as always. You were in the middle of the backseat engulfing poor Prompto and Noctis as they were small enough to allow everyone to sit comfortably enough.
“I’m surprised that you guys managed to keep it a secret. Did you have stuff delivered directly to the palace?” You inquired on the way home for the evening.
“Yes, most were delivered this morning.” Ignis stated, before cutting a playful glare to Prompto in the rearview mirror. “We also made certain that no one else made mention of it.”
“Iggy took my phone.” Prompto pouted playfully, “I wanted to show you all the balloons I had to pick from.”
“Oh, Iggy…” You called, “Where’s the tie I brought.”
“In all honesty I was surprised when I saw, I figured that you would have lit it on fire or thrown it out the car window.”
“I thought about it…” You muttered playfully, getting a laugh.
“You almost lit everyone on fire.” Noctis stated, as you an embarrassed gasped.
“You saw that?”
“Got pictures.” Prompto added, showing you the picture of you crouched ready to fight, Noctis standing slightly behind you looking absolutely terrified. “Good thing Iggy, thought to have everyone below you.”
“How embarrassing would that have been. Crazy lady sets the ballroom on fire on her birthday.” You laughed.
“Well crazy lady,” Gladiolus called turning around to you, “You’ve got one minute left for your birthday, did you have a good one?”
You didn’t even have to think about it.
“The best!”

i'm late to answer this but i already liked ravus as a character. i thought he was interesting but i didn't really fall in love with him until reading your portrayals of him. the way you write him fits so well with how he is in game and adds more to it. and it gave me a better insight into how wonderful he actually is. you just write him really well and he ended up being my absolute favorite. your writing is why i call him cutesy nicknames like "Darling" or "Sweetie" when i see him in-game.
AHHH!! I always felt that I wasn’t good a Ravus and was just making him kind of jokey, plain, or stoic a lot, this makes me so happy! ( ˃̣̣̥ω˂̣̣̥ )
Ravus is such an amazing character and I wish so bad he got more scene time, so I’m glad that I could assist with having someone else fall in love with him even more! Thank you so much!

Well some suggestions I have for Ardyn and aunt avietis are. What aunt avietis does after Ardyn invades insomnia. What would it be like if aunt avietis were to be with Ardyn for the entire game (like with him when he had the meeting with the chocobros). And what the ending would be like for both Ardyn and avietis. Just some general in-game information based around avietis and Ardyn throughout the game.
Okay so if you read the other post about Aevitas both the Glance over and the Early Life you get basically the same scenarios until Aera is killed.
This is basically a brief overview of their life, like some cliffnotes.
Due to the connection, Aevitas has with the Oracle when Aera is struck down and Ardyn loses control, Aevitas attempts to stop Ardyn but is only able to subdue him leaving her weak from trying to drain the darkness within him not realizing just how much darkness is within him when he goes on the run and she’s unable to regularly purge him. Somnus takes this as an advantage and seals Ardyn away.
Aevitas on the other hand gets trapped by the crystal when she realizes that it’s after Ardyn’s “Soul”. She gets trapped until Ardyn is awakened again as she makes a deal with the gods to watch after him and with Ardyn “asleep” she is not needed, but still is able to interact with those of Lucian blood by being a “ghost” around the castle, though she cannot leave the castle walls until Ardyn wakes up. Nor does she have a physical form until that time, she mostly appears as a ghostly form of what she appears in the past.
When Ardyn does wake up and goes to fight Regis he instead runs into Aevitas who stops him rather than Behometh, released from the crystal's curse on her and allowing her to actually travel with him. For the next few years, as Noctis grows, Aveitas splits her time between being with Ardyn and watching over Noctis and the others never truly revealing herself, as she doesn’t want Ardyn to know that she’s watching them.
Aveitas vehemently is against most of the Empire's movements and often tries to foil what she can. It’s often stated that she and Ardyn are playing an extreme game of chest, where Ardyn is willing to sacrifice everything to protect his king, and Aveitas determines that even if her “King” falls, so long as she has more pieces on the board she feels she has won. They often fall into a stalemate.
When Ardyn “orders” the fall of Insomnia, Aveitas is pissed and actually lashes out at him with both words and weapon as she has access to powers similar to the Lucian Kings, but is unable to actually do anything to Ardyn as it is Noctis’s job to be the final blow and Ardyn can’t harm her as her deal with the gods. Ending in a stalemate Aveitas tries to reach out to the human side of her husband but eventually realizes that it would be wiser to keep watch over boys instead.
When the boys originally run into Ardyn, Aevitas is with him but changes herself just enough for the boys not to recognize her true self, wanting to hide a bit longer. Aevitas is also the one that keeps attempting to stir them away from Ardyn. She constantly counteracts his “creepier” nature with genuine love and affection but eventually realizes what must happen in order to set them both free. Granted she doesn’t want Noctis to die. So she basically becomes very overprotective of them and she and Ardyn butt head a lot!
Aveitas actually watches over Gladiolus when he leaves the group, making certain that he gets to Gilgamesh and makes it back to the others safe and sound. She also watches more intently over the others knowing that Gladiolus is gone.
When Ardyn goes after Ignis, Aveitas realizes too late what he was really after and was too busy trying to save Noctis and Lunafreya by the time she gets to Ignis she can only hold off the gods from trying to kill Ignis, but can’t save his sight. She stays with Ignis and Noctis until Gladiolus and Prompto appear, when they ask who she is as she does not hide her true self, she tearfully responds, “I’m sorry I could not do more.” before escorting them all to safety and then leaving.
She makes mention that losing Lunafreya is one of her biggest failures as she failed to save this Oracle as much as she did the first.
* (In Ignis good end, she realizes way before what Ardyn is planning, takes Lunafreya’s powers to save the other, and gets both Noctis and Luna to safety before going to fight alongside Ignis, during the final blow, Avetias takes all the punishment to be put on Ignis and she and Ardyn are given rest)
She ends up dealing with a lot of the aftermath of Leviathan and spends a lot of time speaking to the specters of Aera and Lunafreya asking for forgiveness for failing twice, so when Ardyn attacks the boys on the train, she is informed only by Shiva and arrives too late to stop Ardyn.
She races to go find Prompto but instead finds Ardyn, again she lashes out at him, but this time instead of a fight, she tries to appeal to his human side, seeing flickers of the man return, before he disappears again. Ardyn demands her not to interfere, but she goes after Prompto in the disguise of a younger version of herself and helps him escape from Vestral, whom she states, “The man has only ever done one thing right in his life.” She then leads Prompto back to Noctis and the others before leaving without giving her name, simply leaving them with a smile.
When purging the darkness from Ravus it leaves her weak as she realizes the Crystal is near and screaming at her. Unable to even mourn Ravus’s death. Avetias goes to confront Ardyn only to arrive in time for Ardyn to trick Noctis into getting sucked into the crystal. She reaches out in time to save Noctis from his faith but is immediately pushed back by Ardyn just as the others show up.
As Ardyn goes to leave, Avetias too weak due to the crystal realizes that Ardyn had sent her after Ravus to slow her down, and realizing that she can’t go after Noctis in the crystal as Ardyn still walks on Eos, she can only mutter an apology as she goes after her husband fury in her eyes.
The two have one final argument outside, Ardyn states that he won’t fight her as they both know that neither of them can end the other's life. Yet standing before his wife, who is panting heavily but refuses to stop fighting for Noctis, a single flicker of his human self reaches out and embraces her, apologizing, before they go their separate ways for 10 years.
For 10 years Avetias watches over the remaining boys and doing what she can to halt the darkness in the world. When Noctis awakens, she feels him leave the crystal, knowing what is about to happen she goes and finds the man prior to him confronting Ardyn.
Avetias apologies for having to hide from him for so long, but she will proudly stand beside him. Noctis recognizing the woman that often watched over him in the Citadel since he was a baby gladly accepts her help.
And then you get the lovely Orginal Aunt Avetias post! Which is one ending.
Other endings are, Noctis finally being able to kill Ardyn allowing them both to finally rest. (This is with and without Noctis’s death)
Ardyn finally comes to terms with his anger against Somnus and the deamons within him, allowing him to actually heal with Avetias by his side to watch over for generations to come.
Avetias finally just decking the shit out of Ardyn, just full-on haymaker her husband and then going to the crystal demanding the gods to give back her husband's soul or so help her!
The gods see no reason to deny her...

Oh that’s great to hear I hope to see her soon. It’s been a long time since any fanfics of her cake out. By the by do you take suggestions for scenarios for her? I’m just a bit curious on a few things with her and would like a bit explaining. But if not that’s cool I’m happy just seeing more of her.
Yeah Aunt Aveitas comes far and in between, since mostly have to be in an Ardyn mood.

Apparently in my sleep I angrily shouted, “Don’t ever leave me!”
Upon the scream the person in the other room, who thought I was awake, asked me “What?” I reply:
“I can’t be without you.”
Thinking I was just having an emotional dream, they asked me after I woke up about my dream.
Being too embarrassed I stated I didn’t remember. But I do remember...vividly...
It was Altissa, the crystal was there... We saved Noctis.
