self-care tip: surrender yourself totally to the will of God

Dear men, if a woman loves you for your career and your outward appearance and your position in church, it’s not love. It’s not the agape love, the selfless, I-sacrifice-myself-for-you-love. Don’t get trapped by the idea that you need to be in the worship band of your church, study theology and earn enough money to buy a house to get a godly woman. A woman who knows her identity in Christ does not value these things as a priority. It is good to serve in church, but it is not your identity. A woman of God will love you because she is filled with the Holy Spirit and he loved her first and she gives away that love. Furthermore, seek a woman who loves you for your relationship with Jesus and your heart towards him and how the Holy Spirit speaks and works through you and not all these things that are fading and not eternal.

New idea:

For those who find it hard to pray or read, make it a habit to pray and read one chapter before bed and then refuse to get out of bed until you’ve prayed and read one chapter.

I’m starting with small books like 1 Peter, perhaps once I successfully make this a habit I’ll read more than one chapter.

sometimes i just daydream of a life where all the food i make for my family is made from scratch. we eat plenty of fruit, vegetables, nuts, & eggs that we grow ourselves and when i shop for groceries my cart is full of whole foods. everyone knows there’s always homemade bread, butter, & jam and i spend much of my time in the kitchen cooking dinner, baking pies, canning vegetables, making jellies or marmalade, & passing these skills on to my children.
