Walking through this country was odd for Chopper. The people he came across had powers that, to him, seemed like magic, boasted about being ninja despite such a thing supposedly being an art of stealth, and most of all, the people here seemed to have limited technology compared to the standard Chopper was used to. This journey would take some getting used to, but either way, it would not be impossible to enjoy himself. All he needed was a friend.

Anyone could see that the boy was an anthropomorphic reindeer of sorts. Roughly the size of a toddler rather than a human-sized type beast. He was completely unlike Kisame in that he was the size of a child, but unlike summons in that he was capable of walking upright like a human anyway.

As the boy walked along the forest path nearing The Hidden Leaf Village, his hooves made a squeak with every step, an involuntary action that he had to learn to deal with at this point. The breeze of warm wind felt nice against his brown fur as his bare torso felt every bit of gentleness from the blow of the wind. With his scrawny arms raising above him, he stretched them in order to get some feeling back. This boredom had to be relieved sooner or later. Brushing his maroon pants off once he finished stretching, Chopper wondered if the nearest village would have any fun people to fill the void left behind by his crew. He could only hope so.

Naruko considered her day to be fairly normal, all things considered. Train, do paperwork, eat, train, eat, paperwork. Like every other day, it was warm, a cool breeze coming in from her office window, the ANBU hidden away and ready to strike.

It was only when a shinobi dropped in with a report that the day went from normal to something else.

“Lady Hokage, there seems to a child with a strange Kekkei Genkai Approaching the village. What would you like us to do with them?” Had this been an even that happened in the age when she was a younger child, no doubt this question would have had her take this child away to be a resource to use for later.

But this wasn’t that age.

“A child hm? Well, I have nothing better to do, so I’ll go see to them. A lone child shouldn’t have to be alone, and I’ve finished today’s paperwork-ttebayo.” That was a lie, she could hear her secretary approaching with more. With a hand sign, she poofed away to the main Gates, where the form of the child could be seen.

She crossed her arms, and leaned against the open gate, a small smile on her lips as she watched him approach.

GUIDE FOR PEOPLE NEW TO THE TUMBLR RPC SCENE or just some helpful tips in general!

Make people care. This is a HUGE tip for any hobby that involves people interacting with you, and the main point of this whole post– MAKE YOURSELF KNOWN. Show interest, write posts about your own muses, and be an active member in the rpc when you can. Make yourself heard. Sure you followed someone, and they followed back. It doesn’t mean they’ll be 100% involved in what you do. This hobby and platform is a two-way street. Give out to people what you want back. This also means replying to their posts, liking their posts, sending asks, replying to opens, dming them things that remind you of their muses, asking to plot, etc. Yet remember everyone is different though. Know boundaries and if you might be crossing them– one good example is don’t like every single of their posts in a row. That clogs up their feed and makes them lose track of threads!

Write headcanons or drabbles. You have your about page, you have your verses, but that isn’t necessarily enough. Commonly when people go to follow you they want to see your writing, your thoughts, and if you haven’t had a lot of threads with people it’s hard for them to see those. Show that you care about the muses you’re writing for. Those little things you imagine your muse liking or doing during your day? Write them down. Post them. People want to see your passion and how you see your muse. Also if you have a wishlist ( scenarios you’d like to write ) post those too! It’ll help people with plotting with you.

Don’t only reblog memes. This is a common mistake I see beginners do. The tumblr rpc is unique because there’s asks and memes to make interactions interesting. But– don’t only reblog those. Especially when you don’t have a lot of writing partners yet. People sending in asks is pretty rare, even for people who have a larger following. This is because people don’t see their muses necessarily saying what’s in the post or they’re anxious about sending you an ask. Which comes around to… send people asks regardless! Don’t just reblog them, send them too! It’s widely appreciated and more often than not people will return the favor.

Start up a queue. You won’t be online all the time, and if you don’t post for a week or so people do tend to forget you’re there. Luckily tumblr has a queuing system for that. Queue up aesthetics, queue up musings, queue up your headcanons, and queue up your threads. People won’t always be online when you are, so compensate for that by using the queue system!

Aesthetics aren’t everything. You don’t need fancy graphics, icons, or text to find writing partners. And while it might be a little difficult to find partners, more often than not people are drawn to your writing than your aesthetics. Having aesthetics is okay– overdoing it is often more harmful than good though. Primarily because of different browsers and readability. If you can’t read a response in a hobby about writing then there’s an issue there.

You cultivate your own experience. You are in charge of your own experience here and everywhere on the internet. It’s okay to unfollow people, but do soft block if you do– soft blocking is when you block them, but immediately unblock them to force them to unfollow you. Blocking is okay as well, but tumblr’s blocking system isn’t always perfect. And if someone soft blocks or blocks you, you don’t follow them back or approach them. It can hurt, but it’s that person making their experience safe for themself. If it’s between friends I highly suggest communicating before blocking or soft blocking. If someone is seen as your friend, do communicate to them, respect them. Communication is key.

Be kind. You’ll find there is a lot of toxicity in the rpc. Which leads back to cultivating your own experience. This goes with anything in life, but there will be people who will use you, be passive aggressive, and overall be unpleasant. To make the rpc a little bit better be kind to those you meet and write with. Harmful behaviors will bite you in the ass eventually.

Remember, this is a hobby! We’re all here to have fun and share our ideas. This got pretty lengthy, but I hope there’s something useful in it for people. If you have anything to add don’t hesitate to add onto this post! I’m sure I missed some stuff.

I am always wanting to write Rated R material threads but I’m never sure of who would be comfortable doing so. Can roleplayers please reblog this post if you are fully comfortable writing mature subjects in your threads? { Blood, gore, murder, alcohol and drug use, hack&slash etc. } I’d like to find out by this post who IS comfortable with these types of roleplays rather than making someone uncomfortable just by asking. A quiet *poof* could be heard off to the side as a not clone totally didn’t poof away and avoid startling her master.

“O-of course not! Why would I, Your most beautiful and most talented student, do something so silly like that?!?”

The girl let out a nervous giggle as she pulled out what was hidden behind her, holding up a gift wrapped box with black and orange toad wrapping paper, a little card attached with a ‘from Naruko-chan’ stuck to it with a chibi drawing of herself.

“It’s really expensive booze.”

He ruffles her hair, mussing up her pigtails remorselessly as always. The gift, however, was a cause for suspicion. The fact it just stood there ominously, awaiting his curious approach rather than being handed to him didn’t help.

“…Seriously though, what is it? Because if it’s yet another you waiting to jump out and give me a heart attack, I’d say that’s getting into cheating territory.”

And also cruel territory—or it would be, that is, if Jiraiya was such a gullible man.

If the gift was hookers and cake, on the other hand, he might just end up being the happiest guy in the world today!
