Kayare - Kagero’s brother

Kayare was the elder brother of Kagero. He was 4 years older than her. Kagero took Kayare’s place as the heir to her family’s position as the retainers to the ruler of Hoshido. This was due to Kayare being frail and weak most of his life, leaving him unfit for the position. He also suffered from anxiety and suicidal thoughts due to the dishonor his condition brought upon his clan, and the emotional abuse he received from his parents. 

Kayare passed away when he was 34 years old. He held Dwyer once when he was a baby, and only saw him that one time. He lived longer than anyone expected him to.

Speaking hypothetically of course in regards to your universe but who would you pair Silas up with if Kamui was male?

Probably Mozu, Beruka or Oboro. Those are the three that stick out the most to me. Sakura’s was nice too though

How do you think Jakob reacted when Dwyer was born since him and Kagero were from different kingdoms. When was Dwyer separated from his mother?

Jakob was surprised to say the least. Him and Kagero hadn't talked much about children, and I think he had kinda assumed that they'd never have any due to the circumstances of their relationship. But when Kagero got pregnant, she was forced by Ryoma to go on leave and for that period of time.Since she wasn't allowed to continue her duties while carrying Dwyer, Kagero moved out to Valla for the rest of the pregnancy. Jakob was vigilant and took especially good care of her while also tending to Queen Kamui. They talked about what they would do with the baby once it was born and it was eventually decided that the baby would live with Jakob in the royal castle. Kagero lived alone in her own place in Hoshido, so she thought it'd be healthier for the baby to grow up with more people around them.Once she gave birth to their baby boy, Kagero stayed in Valla for another six months by request of King Ryoma and the insistence of Queen Kamui. She nursed Dwyer for that period, but to be honest, she was miserable. Kagero did and still does deeply love Dwyer, but she really didn't like being confined to that castle and taking care of a baby when she knew she had more responsibilities. Again, she loves Dwyer, but she went back to Hoshido as soon as Ryoma allowed her.So from an extremely young age, Dwyer didn't have his mother with him. He grew up in the castle as a friend of Sophie's and was trained by Jakob to be a future butler and retainer for her as well. Instead of resenting his mother for her absence, Dwyer romanticized the idea of his mother as this galant figure of strength and responsibility, while his father was the one holding him back from doing things that he wanted to do. Jakob was a tough and strict parent to Dwyer. He was by no means soft, so Dwyer did take after him in some ways due to his upbringing. In the end, Dwyer can lash out towards his father at times and purposefully likes to annoy him by outdoing him as a butler for Sophie. However now that he is 19, Dwyer has found that he does enjoy being by Sophie's side and would still do anything to keep her and the rest of Valla safe. He wouldn't want to be anywhere else, not even Hoshido. He just won't admit that to Jakob.

This blog has been on an unexpected hiatus for awhile. I have been very busy preparing for my swim season with training, work, and even then fitting in time for my friends has made updating a bit of a hassle. I’m sorry to all those who really look forward to artwork on this blog, as well as the new story and plot content that is soon to be released, but it will have to wait. I am announcing an official hiatus for awhile, but will hopefully be back to continue drawing my beautiful babies. I hope you all understand. Thank you

I'm surprised Shiro knows how to play the violin. Do any of the other kids play any instruments?

I want to answer this one, but it’d take me awhile to draw all the kids with their instruments and plus I’m not the best at drawing instruments in the first place ;^_^

Shiro plays the violin and learned how to from his mother, Elise.

Caeldori plays the sho and is self taught, but was inspired to learn it from her mother, Hinoka. Mitama plays the hichiriki and learned how to from her father, Azama. I put these two together as these two instruments specifically are often heard together due to their cultural representation of heaven (sho) and earth (hichiriki). This reflects Caeldori and Mitama’s relationship as best friends despite Mitama being a half blooded commoner and Caeldori a pure blooded Hoshidan Princess.

Kiragi plays the shakuhachi and learned how to from his father, Takumi. I figured the two would play wind instruments due to Takumi’s Fujin Yumi (Wind God Bow). He loves to perform with Hisame and Forrest.

Hisame plays the Shamisen and picked up on it from a peer in his class when he was in training in his Hoshidan swordsmanship. He plays with Kiragi often and helps calm him down and help with stress and anxiety

Siegbert plays the harpsichord and is self taught. He believed as crown prince, he should know how to play some instrument, and the harpsichord I think thematically fit him. Plus it’s just a really cool and unique instruments in my opinion

Nina plays the mandolin and is self taught. It seemed fitting given its lighter fit that of a thief and imaging her just sitting on the castle rooftop playing it made me smile, so I liked that idea

Forrest plays the koto and learned how to from his mother, Sakura. Ophelia can’t play any instruments, but loves to sing with Forrest while he’s playing.

Ignatius plays the bass, but he also can play smaller instruments like the recorder and harmonica. He likes to play to the animals. His bass playing meshes well with Nina’s mandolin so I thought it was a nice reflection as well

Sophie is a self taught piano player and is actually quite gifted.

Dwyer can play the pipe organ like his father, but also has started learning to play the piano from Sophie.

Shigure knows how to play a variety of instruments including piano, violin, cello, and lute, but he finds singing to be his preferred method of music.

Kana has always wanted to play an instrument, but never found anything that clicked. That is until he discovered the leaf-flute and has been practicing ever since. Yes, Kana actually blows on leaves to make music because he loves it.

Thoughts on Scarlet x Ryoma and Flora x Jakob?

Scarlet x Ryoma is amazing. I think about if hey had supports if I would've chosen them over Ryoma/Elise, but we'll never know. I definitely believe the two had feelings for each other and the only reason they weren't together here was because Scarlet ultimately died in the Invisible Kingdom route so...Birthright has no excuse as to why they can't support and get married though. Those two have so much chemistry there and Elise isn't there to steal my shipping heart so Birthright leaves me feeling meh when pairing Ryoma...Flora x Jakob... I like Jakob as a character, just not for Flora. If I had to pair her up with someone, I'd pair her with someone completely dedicated to her and would make her feel loved through words of affirmation and open affection. I like her with the Male Avatar because he picks her and he comes off as at least a character who would be very caring and affectionate towards whoever he chooses to wed. Flora is a character who suffers from depression, feelings of inadequacy, and self deprivation; all of these are very serious issues. As someone who has trouble with feelings of inadequacy and being unwanted myself, I believe Flora would want to be with someone who makes her feel like she is special and that she is worthy of every amount of affection she gets. Jakob does not do that. Jakob's complete focus on Kamui would only serve to hurt Flora more in the long run, especially if Kamui is female. She'd get jealous and just be hurting herself. So no, I don't like Flora x Jakob

So in your opinion would you say that Ryouma was in love with Scarlet before she died? And if he was do you think that Scarlet would have approved of Elise?

I think that Ryoma was in the midst of falling in love with Scarlet. I don't think that with the war going on that the two had any sort of affair, just because Ryoma seems so focused and honor bound that he'd wait until marriage to touch someone else if you know what I mean. It's also why I believe the children were all born after the war.The two had a secret relationship that involved mutual affections, but Ryoma kept it to himself because he didn't want his family thinking about this possibly being the future king in the midst of focusing on war. They had planned to announce their relationship after ending the war and would likely have wed soon after. However of course, that didn't happen...I'm sure Scarlet would've seen Elise as a loving and happy ruler and ultimately would've approved of her

The comic you just posted had me wondering, could Azura's kids actually use the pendent? I'm just asking if they could.

Yes they definitely could!Shigure and Ophelia's voices are stronger than their mother's in all honesty. This is due to their exalt blood from Odin/Owain combining with their dragon blood from Azura to create just a stronger and more stable body to withstand certain dangerous lyrics of 'Lost in Thoughts All Alone'. However singing the last verse would still be very dangerous for both Shigure and Ophelia should they were to sing the song with the pendant.But it's not like Azura would know this. She just keeps the pendant away from her kids because she doesn't want them to be subjected to the pain she went through in the war. She nearly died using that pendant so hell no is she going to want Shigure or Ophelia to use it

Luceat is Flora and Felicia's mother. Her name translates to "frozen beauty" or "shine" in Latin. She was the leader of the Ice Tribe before Kilma, as he married her and then became co-leader. She was a dignified and kind leader, and it was surprising how warm she could be. The people of her tribe loved and respected her dearly, and were overjoyed upon the news she was pregnant. She gave birth to twin girls, and raised them happily without problems.Luceat beloved Flora would inherit her position when she was older, not just because she was older, but because she had a calm and respectful demeanor. Felicia was more quirky and energetic. However, one day some Nohrians snuck into the Ice Tribe Camp and attempted to steal a young Felicia and Flora. Luceat woke up during the raid, and was subsequently killed by the Nohrians.Kilma was distraught by the death of his wife and his two daughters being stolen. He faced a lot of pressure becoming the new head of the tribe, as well as grieving over his lost family. This weakness and grief is what made Kilma agree to the conditions of peace made by he Nohrians. In exchange, his daughters, the only family he had left, would be safely cared for a be trained as servants in the capital

Your Hoshido OC, Tamyia, sounds interesting. What is her class and what does she look like in general?

Tamiya is a War Priestess and has dark brown black hair cut into bangs. Her sub classes would be Herb Merchant and Diviner. She's very strong and cunning, and has a air of authority about her. She's smart, and clever, with a deep love for Hoshido and its' citizens. She's Ryoma advisor after the war and has a high amount of authority and control over the Hishudan public. She's a very important and respected politician in Hoshido as well

Do you think you could draw Rinkah having a son? I find it sad that she doesn't have a child...

Shigure inherited Odin's *ahem* "vocabulary" and this can be seen in his love for theatre and the arts. Shigure is like a theatre-kid, in that he can be a bit dramatic like Odin. However I wouldn't say he's as reckless(?) as Odin, and is more careful and calculating. Odin doesn't talk much about Ylisse to his family, but he has taught Shigure and Ophelia some rhythms and songs. Shigure doesn't really name random weapons, but will name weapons that he uses commonly, such as his Silver Naginata (Kosame). He's not super extravagent with names as he can get embarrassed, but is much more open with his family
