Dabbler in many things trying to find My Thing. I'm a veterinary technician with quite a zoo of my own. I also travel to anime and comic conventions where I sell my husband's (Radiant Grey) artwork and get to meet awesome people.
[Image ID: A digital illustration Taako and Kravitz from The Adventure Zone. Kravitz is a humanoid man with dark skin, slightly pointed ears, red eyes and hair in dark brown twists. He is holding his scythe, which has a sprig of mistletoe tied to the end above his head. Taako is an elf with brown skin, long pointed ears and along blonde braid that fades to pink. Both of them are dressed in winter clothing and embracing beneath the mistletoe as they gaze at each other tenderly. Behind them, snow falls in the night sky. End ID]
Joyous Candlenights to all! Here’s my gift for the TAZ Candlenights Exchange for @sisterlich who requested some Taakitz fluff - I hope you like it, this is literally my first time ever drawing Kravitz :’D Thank you to @kravalicious for organising this event!
I know that if I got up early enough to enjoy some coffee, write a little bit, maybe even go for a walk before I have to leave for work would drastically improve my overall sense of the day. Why does this knowledge not help me get out of bed and just Do The Thing? Because I am about to start a 5 day work week and I already see this not happening, no matter how much I like to imagine that it would.
Watch Aviva, bisexual kitchen superstar and royal mistress, and Isaac, the palace wizard, try to invent the perfect gluten-free challah in this comic written by me and drawn by theloserfish on commission.
This is a background moment from the fluffy lgbtq fantasy book A Harvest of Ripe Figs. If you were wondering what kinds of work it took to create that gluten-free challah Aviva brings to Shabbat in the middle of the book, read on!
Transcript: Queen Shulamit gets sick if she eats gluten, so on Friday nights when everyone else is eating challah bread, she has to go without. Luckily, her partner Aviva is also her personal palace chef! Aviva has figured out how to make dough from wheatless flours, like chick pea and sorghum, but she can’t make them pull into long strands like wheat dough does. Modern chefs use xanthan gum to make gluten-free dough pull, but Aviva’s in a fairy-tale setting so she’ll have to get magical help. Can Isaac, the palace wizard, save the day?
Panel 1: Dough has expanded into tentacles, attacking Isaac. Aviva’s giggling.
Panel 2: Isaac is on the floor, covering his head. The dough is splatted onto Aviva now.
Panel 3: The dough turned into butterflies. Isaac says “so that’s what that spell does…”
Panel 4: The dough is mirroring Isaac’s hands. Aviva says “That’s just creepy!”
Panel 5: caption says “Perfect gluten-free challah!” while the two ladies kiss in front of it.
i love the quiet de-gendering of animal crossing. you can change your gender at any time and it does pretty much nothing. it’s not even called gender, it’s just called style. the villager dialogue boxes arent color-coded blue and pink anymore. shopkeepers dont comment if you buy the “wrong” gender of clothing like they did before. your character’s pronouns are rarely used, maybe not used at all? it’s great
Me: *Removes my cat from my lap to do something else.*
My cat: Father is...evil? Father is unyielding? Father is incapable of love? I am running away. I am packing my little rucksack and going out to explore the world as a lone vagabond. I can no longer thrive in this household.
