one of my favorite study methods is the transparency technique. green/blue highlighter becomes completely invisible under green transparency, and the same with pink/orange under red.

I’ve been posting in the #studyblr tags for a few weeks now but I’m just now getting to my introduction 😳
I’m Sagan! I’m 24 and I live in a little house on a mountain in Matsumoto, Japan. I’m lgbt and an artist. I watch anything available on Netflix.
I graduated from college in 2015. The pressure of exams and research and homework nearly killed me. I distanced myself from school completely.
It’s been 2 years and I’m ready to commit myself to school again. I’m studying very hard for the GRE so I can go to graduate school in the United States. When I’m not studying for the GRE, I post my bullet journal and language study notes.
This is a sideblog. I don’t use tumblr too much but all the likes and follows you get from me will be from my main blog with the same icon.

Yesterday was very productive, but I never had the chance to make a 4/100 post for it. I had a professional development seminar in education where I presented a lecture on the varying learning styles with new ways to incorporate them into lessons. It was really fun and I had great feedback!!
Today is just a study day. I’m tackling combinations and permutations for the first time since my second year of undergrad (4-5 years ago?? lord). I’m a little bummed I couldn’t get any GRE study in yesterday but I’m making up for it today.

10.12.17 // Distractions
I can’t help it, but noises really affect my anxiety and distract me to no end. Yet, I can’t work in silence. If I’m in my shared office with people talking, I can’t just drown them out with headphones and my usual ambient noise/music… so I listen to this track of Skyrim tavern music that has added fireplace/tavern noise and unintelligible talking. The talking helps drown out voices from others in the office (or cafe or library) so I can’t make out what they’re saying either, and I can really focus. Just thought I’d share in case something like this helps others.
