My favourite thing is how we all watched the same show where Shauna spewed about being in Jackie's shadow and rushed to Tumblr and made their portmanteau couple name JackieShauna, with Shauna forever in the ass end of Jackie, living in her shadow and I think that's kind of hilarious of us.

thats a good question!!! my reply got too long so i decided to just make it a post.

lemme just say, i am in no way a professional when it comes to mental health, or traumatic situations obviously, but, i think there are 2 things that (in my opinion) could’ve gone better.

1. a group intervention type of scenario, where ben expresses his concern to the rest of the girls, and they talk about it with misty together. ben wouldn’t be alone and vulnerable to her, and there’d be a better space for communication about it. plus, i think the social aspect of having all the girls there would kind of, humble misty a little? idk the right word, that sounds mean but, like, she’d feel pressure, knowing they know how she acts when they aren’t looking, and i think that could (keyword- could) cause some change in her harmful behaviors.

2. or, if ben felt the need to lie for his safety, i just feel he shouldn’t have lied like THAT. tell her he has a girlfriend, that he’s gotten in trouble for dating a student before, i don’t know, just not that he wants her just as badly. the things he said to her were pretty intense. “When you get close to me, it frightens me. I get scared that I won’t be able to control myself.” “No matter how much I want to.” “The other girls, they’d only be jealous.” “My sweet, Misty. You help me be strong.” as someone who’s been unhealthily obsessed with others before, i know my experience doesn’t correlate to everyone’s, but hearing those things would’ve made it so much worse. that’s the thing that gets me, is more-so the fact that the solution he came up with really solves nothing, it just makes it bad in a different way. he said everything to just keep fueling that fire. it was just very misguided, i get why he said what he did, i just wish he would’ve thought about it a little more.

BUT!

i also recognize that these are children, teens, young adults, who are going through some fucked up shit, and that being emotionally mature or stable enough to make well thought out choices like that, wasn’t a priority, survival was. that’s a big part of the show, and looking at it through the lens of storytelling, the choice to have ben do that makes a lot of sense. but like, if i was judging a real life person, i’d be very put off and concerned by that response to the situation. my og post was more in the context of casual commentary, i promise i have nuanced thoughts guys🙏 /lh

I can't stop thinking about THEIR friendship. the way tai was so caring towards shauna and the way shauna was so supportive towards tai. they have a special place in my heart. I love their bond more than anything. I believe in them

I really want to see more stuff about the aftermath of the apotheosis after it starts to spread to the rest of the world. What happens to those who are infected long-term? Do infected people who were "killed" like Charlotte and Sam get back up and start singing again? Do their injuries heal? How does the media handle it when they realize that's happening? Do people take it seriously? How do the infected hunt down the remaining people in hiding? I'm just really curious about leaning further into the zombie apocolypse nature of the infection.

Seeing lots of young ppl in the Hatchetfield fandom getting worried about what other ppl think of them so I want to tell you guys

- You don't have to justify liking a character

- You don't have to justify blocking someone or blocking a tag

- You don't need to tailor your blog to fit anyone's tastes. Post what you want, and if people don't like it, they won't follow you. And that is okay

- If someone doesn't like your takes or something you posted, that doesn't automatically mean you've done something wrong. If they don't provide a specific explanation as for what they're upset about, then they probably just don't vibe with your ideas and that's okay.

Please keep this all in mind, guys. I hate seeing you all beat yourselves up over ppl's opinions, opinions that rlly don't matter as much as you think they do.
