I'm about to do a post about why i hate red runners but before that i gotta address why did i get them in the first place
I've been away from this blog for a while, so a little recap: Sitara, my leopard gecko, arrived eating only mealworms, which was very upsetting for me 'cause i got a whole dubia colony waiting for him and he refused to eat.
As he grew and ate only the mealies, i kind of set the dubia colony aside, since they were not being fed to Sitara, the population started getting too big and there was too much poop, so cleaning was a bit hard to do. So as time passed, more and more i left them aside, and more and more fruit flies started hovering over ther roach bin, resulting in major die offs of a lot of my dubias.
I wouldn't mind the dubias dying, if my gecko didn't suddenly develop an URGE for eating roaches and a DISGUST for mealworms. Yes, he did that after i managed to reduce a 150+ roach population to idk 20-25 individuals (all females)
And when i called my bug provider, he told me that his dubia colony was also recuperating from a major purchase, that he didn't have any available.
Hey, i'm sure there are a lot of bitey birds out there but would anyone lend me a hand? i'm not sure how to discourage biting behavior without scaring my janday conure. It happens when im trying to bond with her by offering her treats in my hand, usually she takes it but mid way through she just decides to SINK her beak in my hands and not let go, it has happened often enough that i know it's not her mistaking my finger for a seed.
I've come to the conclusion that she just dislikes my hand cause she steps up on a perch if i offer it, but anyway, is there any way that i can discourage this behaviour?
I think that's as comfortable as most budgies can get around their owners, mine are super comfortable with my hands and around me, but they don't let me touch them and stuff. Sometimes they bite my fingers too but it just seems playful? Idk but i think ur relationship with yours is just fine
Im confused about my relationship with my budgie, sherbert. They are ok with my hand being in the cage and can be hand fed but when I do hand feed them they bite my fingers
