Life lessons...
HEAR ME OUT, having a song like Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince is SO IMPORTANT for every single little kid and teenager out there!!!!!!!
When we are young, sometimes we make decisions based on what we think other people will think of us. You’ll dress up when others tell you to dress up. You’ll go to a party if others tell you to do so. If it’s “cool”, then it’s worth doing. If it’s not cool, then you’re a loser! Wait but… are you really???? WHAT ABOUT YOUR FEELINGS?
I know for a fact so many people feel like prom is such an embarrasing moment for them, either because they don’t have a date, because they don’t have many friends or maybe because they don’t feel they’re pretty enough or popular enough. Some of you even might be scared to attend prom because you didn’t have enough money to get a new dress for the occasion! But you know what? THAT DOESN’T MATTER AT ALL!!! You need to make your own decisions based on what you think will make YOU happy. You, and noone else. Spending lots of money on a pretty dress for a night that you don’t even want to attend in the first place doesn’t make sense! If you’re the kind of person that goes to prom, then go there, have fun, enjoy, kill it in the dance floor! But if you don’t want to go, don’t let anyone force you to go! Call your best friend, stay home reading, playing videogames, board games, watching a movie or go for a night out with your family. Whatever you choose to do, it needs to be YOUR CHOICE!
Sometimes in life we give importance to certain things, only to realise years later that they didn’t matter at all. Being a popular kid in school doesn’t matter. Dating the cute guy everyone likes in your class doesn’t matter. Being in the bleachers doesn’t matter if you don’t wanna be a cheer captain! You can wear shorts skirts or t-shirts and THAT’S FINE! You can wear sneakers or high heels and THAT’S OKAY!
You choose what makes you happy. You choose who to be friends with. If you only have one friend that you can trust, then ignore the others! As someone very smart said once:
“No matter what happens in life, be good to people. Being good to people is a wonderful legacy to leave behind“
Be kind to people and try to ignore those ones that don’t deserve your time at all. And if you EVER feel alone, please know there’s ALWAYS a swiftie out there willing to cheer you up.
Love,
Jenny
