It find it interesting that in Enjo’s vision of the future it has Bakugou being closer to Shouto than Deku. It almost looks like Bakugou came to a full stop to wait and look back for Shouto where Deku stopped further ahead.

I really loved that. It did remind me how Enji paired them up during the internship too :)

I feel like Endeavor genuinely thinks they are a good influence for each other, being on the same potential/power level, but having different strengths and weaknesses means they can push/pull each other without the feelings of overwhelming inferiority that Endeavor experienced trying to compare himself to All Might while not having anyone else close to him.

For Shouto and Bakugou it will be different, because even if Deku ends up outpacing them because of OFA, they'll still have each other.

And I think it also matters that the context of the panel is Endeavor thinking about the new generation not repeating the mistakes of the old.

It feels like he's talking about cooperation. He envisages Class A all walking together, regardless of quirk strength, and Deku is not on a pedestal / mountaintop or even the one walking in the front, but he's one of them. I think this is what Endeavor learnt during his time as No 1 - the value of cooperation and helping each other, and how even lower ranked heroes or those with more support-oriented quirks can be just as important to the overall win.

I'm sure he regrets the crappy No 2 he was for All Might (especially experiencing the scary burden of a No 1 and everything Hawks gave him in terms of support) and he doesn't want Shouto or Bakugou experience the same frustrations or make the same mistakes; Shouto because of the legacy Endeavor tried to force on it, and Bakugou because of his similarities with Endeavor's character.

So it's a lovely panel. Endeavor wants all three of them to be there for each other and find their paths together of what kind of hero society they want to build - maybe one less dominated by rankings and more focused on a sense of common purpose.
