It's really not so much guilt as- 

Rangers died all the time. It sucks but that's just how it is. And all the pilots knew that when they got into the program. After a few fights, though, a few wins- they start to forget. They think they can take on the hurricane.

And with Raleigh and Yancy- I started to forget, too. They always came back to me, they were my Becket Boys. I got close to them. I got too close, and when Gipsy went down, I thought- I thought there was no way it could happen to them. Nothing could take down my-

That whole time- I forgot they were human. I forgot the Jaeger is just a machine and there are people inside, and how small and fragile they are compared to the Kaiju. And I let- Yancy and Raleigh forget too.

I haven't been close to a pair of pilots since Raleigh left. Not the way I was close with them. I don't forget anymore. And I don't let my pilots forget.

DON’T EVEN I feel like in his rational mind (because it’s clear that Tendo has to be very rational to do his job well) he realizes that it isn’t strictly his fault, both the Beckets knew the risks of being pilots, and that it was a difficult situation, and noone could have predicted what happened. However, I feel like deep down he has some deep-seated guilt about it.

So I here your coffee is the best in the world. Who was the first to taste your divine concoctions?

I like to think it’s the best in the world; or at least the Pacific Coast.

Let’s see, first time I made coffee for someone else was probably- okay, that doesn’t count. I went through a phase of trying to seduce people by making them coffee. Sadly most of my marks were uncultured plebs and didn’t appreciate it.

I think the first person I made coffee for- that stuck- was probably Yancy. When he and Raleigh were just starting out as pilots they had this squabble over a girl; Marshal didn’t approve, and Yancy put himself in solitary confinement over it. I found him parked up in the hanger just- staring at Gipsy Danger, stuck in his thoughts.

Once I got him to come down, we went back to the barracks, I made him some coffee and just kept feeding it in until he was too hyped up to stay quiet. After that, he and Raleigh got over it, and coffee with Yancy became a pretty regular thing.

Years before, you wouldn’t have picked my brother Yancy and I for heroes. No chance. We were never star athletes, never at the head of the class, but we could hold our own in a fight. And it turned out we had a unique skill, we were drift compatible.

Tendo Choi was seen with a rosary wrapped around his hand. There were several shots where he’s handling some equipment and the rosary is shown. 

I loved that. I can imagine him praying while he sent Gipsy Danger out to fight.

He refuses to talk about this. I actually dressed up as Miss Mori but Marshal told me I had to change before someone saw me.
