and all but suddenly garroth's hands are draped around his neck as if the shadow knight were wearing the finest pearls in all of ru'uan. silent hushes, hands upon hips, heavy breathing as they back theirselves into a wall; their lips but a few inches apart.

they've found eachother oh so drawn to the other ever since their little game had begun. jokingly smacking the other on the butt as they pass by or calling the other pet names such as "darling", "sunshine", and "dear" as the days go on.

soon enough their little charade has them growing fonder of the others presence, waiting for the fellow knight to brush by with a whisper saying "careful, my love." or a purposely trip into the others arms, going "my, my, it looks like i'm falling for your charm already."

the two slowly grow attached by the hip even closer than before, waiting for the other to draw another breath in their presence.

but such an act between guards... would be quite a scandal, do you not agree? i wonder...

Genevieve, first-born daughter of lord Garte, is arranged to marry the king of Scaleswind's son, Nicholas, to not only bring the two villages together but to ensure the success of one village if the other happens to fall. Genevieve, already in a clouded mindset due to newfound gender dysphoria, can't handle the responsibilities that come with the arranged marriage (or even the responsibilities that come with being lord). She convinces her father to allow her to train as a guard just to fake her death and run off to Phoenix Drop where she can finally be herself. Finally, Garroth emerges as one of the best guards in the region and takes the spot beside lord Malik (and eventually Aphmau).

Nicholas has been fighting his father for months on the decision of the marriage but kept getting shut down. He despised the idea of marrying someone he truly didn't love. Tired of his father bossing him around his entire life, he flees and hides underground with his fox. To ensure he is hidden from his father, he takes to changing his appearance which eventually leads to him dressed up as a woman and he finds that he truly doesn't mind it (and it separates her further from who their father thinks she is). Eventually, they are now Nicole and she is happier than ever to hide underground without the overlooking power of their father.

They still don't end up together but after figuring out who each other are, they have a laugh about the similarities and a newfound understanding is formed.

I plan on changing Laurance so he keeps the sibling-esque relationship he has with Aphmau but without the flirting and I'm totally giving that fruit loop a boyfriend. I also want to take his Shadow Knight storyline a bit more seriously and present in the story.

I'm still debating on adding Aaron bc if I do, he's gonna be just some guy that hangs around and clearly has trauma. But if I don't, his important events will be handed off to the other characters. Like Aaron being in Phoenix Drop because he's been listening in on the amulet will go to Dante. While Dante is talking into the amulet his brother gave him, he catches frequencies from other amulets and finds out about the mole.
