Even after dying by his hand, Abel will always cry for his big brother.
What an honour, what a loss.
"Don't worry boys," Their father said, standing in front of them.
His back is facing them both. His grin, over his shoulder, was just as smug as it was before.
They were no longer boys, but men. Still, Adam was their father and they would always be the rowdy boys chasing each other on their farm after chore.
To him, they will always be his sons. Even if he hadn't been a father to either for a long, long time.
"...Your mama's here."
Adam said it like it was the answer to all of this. Maybe it is.
Maybe it's her fierce love that will put an end to this chaos.
