Article on the M2 1001 roadster. This was a hardcore version limited to 300 units made by one of the designers of the normal car.

Brilliant unidirectionality and outstanding presence.
A well-made living room resembles a stage set in the hands of a master. This is because it emphasizes the presence of each member of the family. Doesn't it look like a bad movie, overflowing with all sorts of things? I would like to reconsider the meaning of the living room and its function.

To be honest, when I finally got to meet the M2001, which had been rumored for so long, I was a little shocked. For example, if you look at the interior, the floor console has been removed and there is not even an ashtray. At the same time, it boasts a high quality feel that is incomparable to a normal roadster. Why?
The goal of this car is, frankly, a “lightweight sports car for the hardcore”. In a nutshell, Mr. Kei Tachibana, who was deeply involved in the development of the Roadster, and who is now the M2's top friend , made thorough changes to the parts of the Roadster that as a mass-produced car he was not satisfied with. In other words, it is a car that was built with personal passion. That was the M2 1001.
"Normal looks too cute. The spoiler has to be more powerful. Door mirrors that look like they're flattering a woman can't be tolerated. The door mirrors were made in the shape of aluminum cannonballs, and the roll bars were authentic, meeting race regulations.

I understand. The tires are Dunlop Formula D400M2 (195/50R15), but they are actually specially designed with a different compound.
