My ex partner killed himself. From the well meaning people I get ‘it’s not your fault’. From the ill intended people I get ‘it’s your fault’. It’s always a question of fault though. That’s not the question in my mind. And yes having a chorus of people saying ‘it’s not your fault it’s not your fault’ when I had never asked that question certainly made me feel like it’s my fault
hate to say it, but part of ending the stigma around sexual assault means not assuming every woman blames herself. yes, female socialization encourages it, but that doesn’t make it a given, and the goal of all of these campaigns is to eventually diminish the proportion of women who do blame themselves. it is entirely possible, and increasingly common, for women to experience sexual assault and not feel shame or guilt, which we should be happy about. but instead, there are only so many times you can hear “you know it’s not your fault, right?” before it sounds like “it was your fault”. and there’s only so many times you can hear “don’t blame yourself” before it sounds like “you should blame yourself”. because it feels good to say, doesn’t it? sure, you don’t believe she’s guilty, but you do believe she should feel guilty, so that you can disabuse her of the notion. just something to consider.

The rise in attention to the South Korean 4B movement these last couple days is so thrilling. I see so many women talking about it on tiktok, entire comment sections flooding with “4B movement now” whenever a woman complains about her shitty moid of a partner, coupled with detailed chroniclings of the ever-decaying state of the male loneliness epidemic.

Shrug. This has probably been said before and better but I think in a lot of ways women are still going through witch trials. (e.g. if she lives shes evil if she dies shes innocent) If a woman dies she was a real abuse victim, if she lived she lied about it. If a woman kills herself she was in real pain, if she gets over it it was just a cry for attention.

Woman on tumblr listening to pop music and looking at a picture of a person she's attracted to:
I'm so fucking insane, I'm history's greatest monster. I want to chew the flesh off my limbs and get hit by a train. When will God strike me down. The misery is endless
Man on twitter ignoring his family to masturbate to videos of women being beaten:
I am a philosopher-king. When will I truly be recognized for my greatness

These are my female centric recommendations
1. Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death - a comedy which seeks to mock feminism but ultimately educated about it in a fun female friendly way
2. A question of silence - 3 women unknown to each other kill a man in public and the ensuing trial they remain silent
3. Witching and Bitching - poorly translated title of a Spanish movie called ‘the witches of Zuggaramurdi’ and it’s rich with symbolism and cool to see a giant CGI Venus of willendorf
4. Walk of shame - a news reporter freshly dumped goes out on the town in a yellow dress and gets lost in the city and subsequently mistaken for a prostitute wherever she goes. It’s funny but poignant
I like to specialise in comedies for feminist women as I’m depressed enough in real life

Trans people always have and always will exist and it doesn’t hurt anyone one bit! Incredible!
If you acknowledge that gender is a social construct, you must also acknowledge that your gender identities are entirely contingent on that social construct.
In other words, your gender identities are also socially constructed—they’re not innate characteristics the way being female, black, homosexual, or disabled are innate characteristics that exist independently of any social customs or theories.
So no, trans-identified people have not always existed and will not always exist. Trans-identified people have only existed and will only exist so long as the social construct of gender exists. This is like claiming Christians have always existed and will always exist, when in reality Christians have only existed and will only exist so long as the concept of Christianity exists.
Furthermore, if you acknowledge that gender is an oppressive social construct that ascribes feminine expectations to female people and masculine expectations to male people, if you acknowledge that gender is the reason female people were confined to the domestic sphere and denied their most fundamental rights, if you acknowledge that gender is a system created to reinforce female subjugation and male domination and not just a fun, quirky little way to express yourself, then it’s not hard to comprehend that any ideology which hinges on the continued existence of this sexist social construct is inherently regressive and harmful.

I don’t think we as a society talk nearly enough about how intricately connected cats and women are. cats are associated with women so heavily, not just in English but in other languages as well. the stereotype of the ‘crazy cat lady’, the fact words to refer to cats are often also used to refer to female genitalia, ‘cat fight’, ‘catty’, etc.
Cats have suffered alongside women, too, which is not something I have seen brought up. Cats were targeted during the Witch Hunts as well, and suffered similar fates as the women they hunted. During this time, cats were nearly driven to extinction, and the mice and rat population go out of control— which is believed to have heavily contributed if not outright caused one of the most famous plagues.
To this day, I think we need to analyze if it’s truly a coincidence that cats are often portrayed as mean or uncaring because they do not behave the same way as dogs— “man’s best friend”— that their boundaries are violated for fun and then people criticize the cat for reacting, for self-defense. They will mutilate a cat so it cannot defend itself, and then abandon it when it is understandably upset, when it can no longer feel safe.
If you look at the statistics, more cats enter animal shelters than dogs, and tend to stay for longer. Personally, my local humane societies seem to have almost exclusively cats. In part, this is because cats are more effective at reproducing than dogs, and there are very little if any resources dedicated to to TNR. This is also because people will not spay/neuter their cats, and then will abandon the cat and/or just the kittens.
I do not think it is entirely coincidental that cats are so heavily associated with women, and they are villainized for not being dogs. That dogs are called “man’s best friend”, but somehow that does not mean cats are called “women’s best friend”— instead diamonds are, for whatever reason, despite women’s shared history with cats, and shared experience of being villainized for having boundaries. They are made the villain for being cats instead of dogs, they are called uncaring and “assholes” because the way they show love is not identical to the way a dog does.
I feel like there is no way it is entirely coincidental, the way cats are hated and the way they are so heavily associated with women, with females.

When people are saying that rape is worse for male victims than for female victims, I feel like the quiet part is "because women are used to it."
