There's a fan theory that Mel's name is only a nickname to a longer one. In the show, she is only called Miss Medarda, or Councilor Medarda, except by a select few. Ambessa, Jayce, and Hoskel. Hoskel refers to her as Mel after she gives him that child's toy as a gift. We see first that Ambessa uses her name in a certain tone when she's trying to get back into Mel's good graces. Jayce only uses her name after they've slept together. Her name is only used by those who are close to her, like, one might argue, a nickname. This is very interesting to me, because if her name is a nickname, what might her full first name be?

Arcane Newswatch - Day 884: News Update

In a recent post by Fortiche, it was confirmed that the company will be attending the 2024 Annecy International Animation Film Festival. The post also indicates that this attendance will be in partnership with Netflix and Riot, and focusing on Arcane. While there are no specifics beyond that at this point, we will be watching the festival very closely for any news. The festival will run from June 9th to June 15th
