this had to be both the most surreal yet peaceful experience that jesse has forced himself through. he was slowly slipping from consciousness and yet, he was not afraid of what lies on the other side. was there a god? heaven, hell? well, there was only one way to find out.

it  wasn’t  often  that  the  redhead  was  stunned  into  silence  ,  yet  here  she  sat  ;  simply  staring  at  the  cowboy  as  he  roused  into  consciousness  .  she’d  known  that  he  would  survived  ,  she’d  seen  to  it  herself  .  still  ,  moira’s  mouth  felt  like  it  was  filled  with  sand  as  she  watched  his  eyes  slowly  open  .  it  was  too  close  of  a  call  .  too sloppy .

‘  no  ,  jesse  ,  ’   she  began,  standing  up  from  her  seat  to  survey  him  like  she’d  done  a  million  other  times  whilst  he  was  sleeping  .   ‘  it  was  not  a  success  .  ’   reaching  into  the  pocket  of  her  slacks  ,  she  brandished  a  small  light  ;  which  she  shone  into  his  eyes  as  she  leaned  over  his  weak  frame  .   ‘  follow  the  light  with  your  eyes  ,  ’   she  commanded  ,  unceremoniously  grabbing  his  chin  with  her  free  hand  .
