Can An Infertile Man Get A Woman Pregnant?
INVITRO FERTILIZATION ( IVF ) - IVF consist of two process, firstly mature eggs are collected from ovaries and fertilized by sperm in lab. Secondly one or more fertilized eggs are placed in a uterus. Full IVF cycle takes 2 to 3 weeks for its completion. Once the embryo is developed it us monitored over the next three to five days and two to three embroys are then placed into uterus by way of a small catheter inserted through the cervix. It leads to smooth fusion of sperm and egg by ignoring the complex Intercourse procedure.
INTRAUTERINE INSEMINATION ( IUI ) - This process includes the placing of sperm into partner's uterus through a tube. It works well incase of low sperm count.
INTRACYTOPLASMIC SPERM INJECTION (ICSI) - It's a type of IVF where a single sperm is injected into each egg. It increases the chances of fertilization.
SURGICAL PROCEDURES -
The other alternative to treat male Infertility is surgery. Through it doctors remove the blockage in reproductive tract which hinders the movement of sperm. Moreover In some cases teticals are repaired for producing sperms.
VASECTOMY REVERSAL - It's a surgical process in which surgeon reconnects the vas deferens through which sperms passes. The ends are sews together after viewing them carefully under a high power surgical microscope.
VASOEPIDIDYMOSTOMY - Its a most common and effective method. In this the upper end of the vas deferens are joined to the epididyms.
TRANSURETHRAL RESECTION OF THE EJACULATORY DUCT ( TURED ) - This method is used to treat the blockage of ejaculatory duct. Under this a cystoscope is passed into urethra and a small incision is made. This gets sperm into the semen.
ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION - It's a method if directly putting the healthy sperms at the entrance of the cervix of the partner. In this way the sperm can make their way to the fallopian tubes.
Medication-
HORMONE THERAPY- The pituitary gland in the brain releases hormones called gonadotropins, which is responsible for stimulating the tertials to produce sperm. There are cases when sperm production is slowed down because if insufficient level of gonadotropins by the gland. By taking hormone medicines this problem can be resolved.
Other -
QUITTING SMOKING AND INTAKE OF DRUGS - Smoking affects both quality and quantity of sperm badly. It not only reduces the chances of sperm production but also makes a men Infertile.

Male infertility is a condition that affects a significant number of men worldwide. One of the leading causes of male infertility is low sperm count. Low sperm count, also known as oligospermia, is defined as having fewer than 15 million sperm per milliliter of semen.
There are various factors that can contribute to low sperm count. These include hormonal imbalances, genetic disorders, testicular infections, varicocele (enlarged veins in the scrotum), certain medications, and exposure to environmental toxins. Lifestyle factors such as excessive alcohol consumption, smoking, drug abuse, obesity, and high-stress levels can also play a role in reducing sperm count.
The effects of low sperm count can be quite significant, as it can make it difficult for couples to conceive naturally. When a man has a low sperm count, the chances of fertilizing an egg and achieving pregnancy are greatly reduced. However, it is important to note that having a low sperm count does not necessarily mean that a man is infertile. Many men with low sperm count are still able to conceive, although it may take longer or require medical intervention.
Diagnosing low sperm count typically involves a comprehensive evaluation of the man's medical history, physical examination, and semen analysis. Semen analysis measures various parameters such as sperm count, motility (ability to swim), and morphology (shape and size of the sperm). A semen analysis can provide valuable information about the sperm's health and functionality.
Treatment options for low sperm count depend on the underlying cause and severity of the condition. In some cases, making certain lifestyle changes can help improve sperm count. These changes may include maintaining a healthy weight, quitting smoking, reducing alcohol consumption, managing stress levels, and avoiding exposure to environmental toxins.
In cases where lifestyle changes alone are not sufficient, medical interventions may be necessary. These can include hormone therapy, surgical procedures to correct anatomical abnormalities, or assisted reproductive techniques such as intrauterine insemination (IUI) or in vitro fertilization (IVF). These techniques involve collecting sperm and directly inserting it into the woman's reproductive tract, increasing the chances of fertilization.
It is important for couples struggling with male infertility and low sperm count to seek medical advice and support. A fertility specialist can provide a comprehensive evaluation, diagnose the cause of low sperm count, and recommend appropriate treatment options. With advancements in medical technology and assisted reproductive techniques, many couples are able to overcome male infertility and achieve their dream of starting a family.

How Does IVF treatment work?
These days when the problem of infertility has significantly increased in numbers, side by side there are also some advancements and developments being made too in the field of reproductive medicine which offers hope to couples struggling with infertility. One such important that has been made in this field is in vitro fertilization (IVF), a fertility treatment that is helping countless couples fulfilling their dream of having a baby. Before going for this treatment, we should be aware of this treatment as to how this works.
Tumblr media
IVF means in vitro fertilization. This is a complex procedure that involves several steps. The procedure begins with the stimulation of the ovaries to produce multiple healthy eggs through the direct application of fertility drugs. The eggs are then retrieved from the ovaries by an an invasive procedure called follicular aspiration.
Once the eggs are collected, they are fertilized with sperm in a laboratory outside the uterus. In some cases, a technique called intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) may be used, where a single sperm is directly injected into an egg to facilitate healthy fertilization.
After fertilization of the sperm with the fertile eggs, the resulting embryos are monitored minutely for a few days in the laboratory. The healthy fertilized eggs selected are then placed into the woman’s uterus and are observed closely for several days in the laboratory. The healthiest embryos are transferred into the woman's uterus, this process is called embryo transfer. This procedure is done using a thin catheter that is inserted through the cervix. The number of embryos that are transferred is based on several factors, including the woman's age and her health.
Following the procedure of embryo transfer, the woman is prescribed medicines that support implantation and pregnancy. Approximately two weeks after the embryo transfer, a pregnancy test is conducted to determine whether the IVF treatment was successful. If the test is positive, it is an exciting moment for the couple, as they have taken a significant step towards having a baby.
Although IVF is the most advanced procedure in reproductive medicine, it is very important to note that IVF does not guarantee a pregnancy. Success rates varies depending on several major factors, which include the woman's age, the quality of the embryos, and the underlying cause of infertility. However, IVF has provided hope to many couples who are unable to conceive naturally.
In addition to traditional technique of IVF, there are various other techniques and advancements within the field of reproductive medicine. Some of them are like preimplantation genetic testing (PGT), which allows prior screening of embryos for genetic disorders before transferring it, and egg freezing, which helps women to preserve their fertility for use in future.
To conclude it can be said that an IVF is a remarkable fertility treatment that has transformed the lives of countless individuals and couples struggling with the problem of infertility. IVF treatment is appreciable in the scientific advancements which helped many people to fulfil their dreams of becoming parents.

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN WOMEN'S AGE AND FERTILITY
The relationship between women's age and fertility is directly connected. It is seen that women experience a decline in fertility as they grow with age; this is all primarily due to the body changes regarding their ovarian function and the quality of their eggs. Here are some essential aspects of this relationship:
Peak Fertility period: A woman's fertility is highest in her 20s. This is the period of her age when she has more healthy eggs, which are essential for a successful pregnancy. The chances of conception as per menstrual cycle are the highest in this age range.
The decline in Fertility: As the woman's age increases and she enters her 30s, the quality of her fertilized eggs gradually declines. The quality of the fertile eggs declines faster when women age over 35. This drop in fertilized eggs is basically due to decreased quantity and quality of eggs forming. When the formation of fertile eggs decreases or decreases, there is a higher risk of reproductive and gynaecological disorders like endometriosis and uterine fibroids.
Tumblr media
Reduced Ovarian Reserve: Ovarian reserves is nothing but a certain amount of quality and quantity of women's egg which is the essential requirement for the woman to get pregnant. With the increase in age, a woman's ovarian reserve decreases. That means that with the woman getting older, she is left with fewer eggs which can be helpful for a woman to get pregnant. The maximum number of fertile eggs a woman possesses in her 20s.All this indicates that fertile eggs lose quality and quantity with age. That means the remaining eggs have more chances of abnormalities, leading to a higher risk of miscarriages and children with congenital disabilities.
Increased Time to Conceive: As the woman grows in age, the possibility of fertilized eggs decreases, and as a result, chances of getting pregnant also decrease, and women take more time to get pregnant. The decline in fertility and other factors like irregular ovulation can result in a longer duration between attempts at conception and successful pregnancies.
Increased Risk of Pregnancy Complications: When the woman is in advanced maternal age (usually 35 years and older), she is closer to the increased risk of pregnancy complications, generally including gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, premature delivery, and cesarean delivery.
Menopause: When there comes a time in a woman's life, i.e. Menopause. This is the indicator that there is the end of a woman's reproductive years. This stage usually comes around 45-55, although it depends upon the individual and the age is not fixed. It varies from female to female. Menopause is the end of menstrual periods, which is a woman's loss of fertility.
The above factors do not apply to every woman, as fertility varies from individual to individual. Also, every woman is different. But with the advancement in reproductive medicine and techniques, such as assisted reproductive technologies (ART) like in vitro fertilization (IVF), which are options for women who experience difficulty conceiving as they age.
