Painting around some collage. I like the black, starry paper, but probably I should have glued it last!

This piece is up at Helvella Art here in Oakland at the Send Me Across the Sea Vol 5 show. I don't know if it's one of the pieces that sold already. It might still be available!

Hello, it's been a little while.
The past few months I've been working on these Mossfriends, which are up at a show that opened at Helvella Art on March 30 of 80+ artists and hundreds of pieces of 5x7" art. I went to the opening; it was such a nice show, good vibes, SO MUCH ART! It was cash and carry, so people were taking the art off the wall to purchase then take home. Each piece was replaced by a little print so you could still see what had been there. For ten bucks you could frame your piece, for five you could mail it anywhere in the U.S. Artists got 100% of their sales. Seriously, Malisa Suchanya put together a great show. I'm so grateful I got to participate (and three of my pieces had sold before I left!).
Some of these originals are still available, all in the eighty dollar range. If you are interested, let me know. I also have prints of most of these that I'll put in my online shop very soon!

Camouflage (But I Hope You Find Me)
Watercolor, ink, pencil. 12x16". This is a larger piece compared to what I usually do. I’ll take some photos for context and post them here eventually. For those of you viewing this on the dashboard, it looks better on the blog. Closeups here.

Two mossy moss friends, in watercolor, colored pencil, and a tiny bit of collage. I am not sure what glue people use who want their collages to last... Like, what do collage artists use? This is no collage art, but still, I want to know!

A nice corner in my house, a rainy day. The print on the wall is a "bad risograph" by Nat Andrewson.

Can't stop, won't stop making moss friends. I'm working on a little series of 5x7" moss friends, destined for my sh0p. So far these are watercolor, a little colored pencil, and some collage!

I had really hoped to have this done before the holidays, but maybe that was ambitious given how busy that time of year is. However, it is still winter, and this is a very wintery little work. I enjoyed using gold and silver ink and colored pencil in addition to my usual black ink and watercolor. The night sky is printed mulberry paper--it's so pretty and I want to use it in more stuff! Happy new year, happy winter.
