Amaya RECAP: Episode 160
Amaya's episode today is a mix of intelligence聽and cleverness with a shower of safe play and not overacted dramatic deaths.
The episode started where Lamitan asked the kawals/mandirigma to make sure that Uray Hilway and her Babaylans and Alabays will not be able to get out of her balay, for they saw the end of Datu Pulajan. Lamitan also asked her bodyguards to get all of the citizens of their Puod especially the warriors. Meanwhile, Bagani and his mandirigmas are already preparing to go on the puod where Amaya is.
聽 Since the messenger of Amaya to Pulajan that will confirm their attack was not able to see the Datu, Amaya's thoughts became suspicious. She explained that the Datu will make sure to see the messenger since what they have planned is a very urgent thing. Amaya then leaves for a while to inspect something.
Lamitan, on the聽other hand announced that Amaya will go on their puod for a war. But the intelligent Amaya is eavesdropping on the said scene. Lamitan, conversely, felt that an enemy is looking at them as what her聽panagang聽suggests聽but Amaya has already left before Lamitan can see her. Well, the camera shot is too revealing so it is obviously that Amaya would not be seen by Lamitan. Amaya's聽suspicions聽have already been confirmed. Her allies suggested to postpone the attack but Amaya refused to and said that they will attack when Lamitan is preparing for their attack.
Meanwhile Dal'lang expressed her worries about Binayaan and Amaya to Kapid. Alunsina on the other hand heard the conversation. Kapid, on the other hand, revealed that one of the sisters, Amaya and Binayaan will not return safe. She whispered it to Dal'lang.
Lamitan visited Hilway and asked the alabays why did they come to her balay. The alabay replied that Hilway wanted to warn the Datu. Lamitan commended Hilway's power even she has already gone crazy. So she asked Hilway about her destiny after the night.聽Hilway replied that she can only see Lamitan's fear. Then later on, she revealed that Lamitan's end is already coming. Lamitan defended that she hasMalandok聽on her side, a powerful spirit. But Hilway said that she only has one spirit protecting her. But a lot of spirits are lingering in the world. Apong, on other hand, arrived but Hilway continued to speak. This time, Apong is in the brink of his end.聽Lamitan asked Apong to bring Mantal on her balay.聽
The citizens of the puod has already gathered on Lamitan's balay. And Amaya's allies are waiting on Amaya's signal so that they can attack. And so one group has already started to attack.聽
Mantal is being brought on Lamitan's house forcefully when Songil's group attacked Apong's group. Mantal was able to escape but still went to Lamitan's place. Apong faced his death with blood while Hilway hinted the end of the underserving Babaylan to her Alabays.聽Apong's death is more dramatic than Silay's. Silay has made a bigger impact on the story but only got a fast and not so rewarding exit.
Alunsina asked Kapid who among Amaya and Binayaan will be alive.聽Wait? Isn't Alunsina has the power to hear whispers? And even hear people she knows on other places?聽Kapid on the other hand replied that she will not tell it to her but Alunsina insisted. Kapid said that instead of worrying about Amaya and Binayaan, she has to worry for more people because there would be more than one death on the war.
On the war, Alunsina's father was killed. Alunsina then heard of his father's voice growling for her name.聽It gave me goosebumps while the father is growling.聽Alunsina then shouted that her father should not die as he promise to return.
The not-so-bad shots of the war were shown. You can see a warrior tumbled on air which he only did just for posing. Not so many bloods were seen. Thank you MTRCB for that.
Mantal told Lamitan that Apong's group encountered Songil's.聽Things went crazy for Lamitan and immediately ordered to rang the gong that will serve as a signal to get ready. Bagani's team, including Binayaan, has arrived the puod and has successfully attacked the first wave of attacks against them.
Amaya faced Lamitan's most treasured warrior, Silay's childhood friend. But their encounter with a bigger group of warrior than theirs cornered Amaya.
OKAAAAAAAY. Today's episode is a very nice preparation for the finale week. The sneak preview is not a surprise. Well, it's easy to predict but the director was able to give some surprise shots. But if there's one comment I want to give is about the production budget. So can I assume that the prehistoric is really underpopulated with those puod citizens? Also, thanks again to MTRCB, we have less blood with this drama.
Let's go with the characters. Amaya has become more witty. Thanks for that development on her character. She has now really evolved to a real warrior. Lamitan, on the other hand, has now become the most clever character - she was never before on the start of the series. She was actually greedy and ambitious but was never smart like this. Uray Hilway, I think, is one of the major assets of today's episode. Two characters have already graced ther exit, one from the good side and one from the other side. But, Kapid's revelation (but not really much a revelation as suggested by tweets) made me contemplate again for that character.

Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Langit and Munting Heredera
There are three dramas that I want to commend (?) on: Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Langit (Stolen Happiness) , Amaya and Munting Heredera (The Little Heiress).
Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Langit (Stolen Happiness)
Honestly, I don't like Michelle Madrigal and Mike Tan. But, hey, this is a Carla Abellana drama so I want to try on it.
Let's go the story first - I don't like the story, the first time I heard it - about best friends who loved the same man and ended up fighting over their child. Well, "their child" is quite debatable. But still, I don't like the idea of Carla Abellana having a child on a soap. But I hated more the idea of this two girls fighting on each other for Mike Tan. After all of this corny stuff, the direction of the soap was able to attract the viewers. Carla Abellana was able to handle this mature role and lead the series.
Also, I love the rivalry of Marissa and Leila, those two women behind our leads. You can expect heavier cat fights from them. However, there are still characters I hate because of their "for display roles" like Will Devaughn's. I don't like that guy but still, he did not gave justice for her role. But at least, Mike Tan was able to rise from his poor standing to a good substitute leading man.
Equation:
Good Direction + Hot Cat Fights + Many Display Actors + Good Leads = Good Enough
Munting Heredera (The Little Heiress)
This drama started last year, exactly May 9, 2011. And this is still standing. It is already proven that Munting Heredera is one of the biggest dramas of 2011. It has good actors, good direction, good execution but has the element that is already overused on dramas - the missing child.
Since the main topic of the show is about finding Jennifer, I would not argue much with that since I cannot suggest about it because if it will be changed, the show would not be "Munting Heredera" anymore.
But still, the element that decrease the show's quality is its dodefying elements:
Dodefying Elements are always present on GMA's resident writer, Richard "Dode" Cruz's soaps. It always contain kidnapping, hostage taking, murders, explosives, rapes, fire, then kidnapping again.
But at least we have rediscovered Camille Prats who did very well here. We also have the The Ms. Gloria Romero and a Mark Anthony Fernandez. We have also discovered the underrated actors and actresses of our generation from the maid to the fathers of the kids and tweens to the girls of their lives.
However, we have already extended the series very much making the plot more dodefying and adding characters. Well, the additional actors are also good but I can't take much of the plots. 6 Months has been enough and adding another 3 months is already disturbing. Well, I want to commend the writer for giving a harmonious story that sells with kidnapping Jacob over and over again.
Equation:
Underrated Actors + Great Acting + Dodefying Elements + Good Individual Stories That Harmonizes In The Main Plot = Treasure Drama Good For 9 Months, Maximum Already.

Drama Mani - The Most Awaited Copycat.
So here's my attempt to do a parody or copycat of dramabeans.com. Yes! That popular Korean Drama recapping site. I think it would not be a bad idea to recap some Philippine dramas.
Yeah... Since most of the Philippines are copycat, either licensed or said to be "original-but-still-a-ripoff," I decided to do another one. Kekeke.
I can't assure you good English but I will try to deliver this words.
I want to use the "English Language" so this can also cater foreigners who wants to try Philippine dramas.
I'm a Kapuso fan but I don't want to argue much with Kapamilyas. Network war is disgusting, you know. Maybe soon, I might hire a Kapamilya blogger also so the site can get more followers, I hope so.
Back on the main topic, two big dramas are about to end: Amaya and Munting Heredera.
I will try to recap them, at least. Well, I will try to recap upcoming dramas like Legacy and My Beloved. Well, I will try.
