Cathedral Peak at 3004 m high is a free standing mountain in the Drakensberg. The hike to the top and back can be completed in 10 to 12 hours. The first ascent was back in 1917.

Cockade Peak is located within the Cathedral Peak area. Cockade Pass and Tseketseke Pass are the closest passes. This is a truly stunning part of the Maloti-Drakensberg Park.

Ship’s Prow Pass is a long pass and tops out at 3292m, the highest central drakensberg pass in the Maloti-Drakensberg Park. The pass section is 4.9km’s and 1359m in elevation gain. Picture by Riaan van der Merwe. Well done Riaan on hiking to the top of this pass, an awe-inspiring achievement.
