“I won,” One thought aloud, cutting through the clattering of his sword hitting the bathroom floor.
Was it enough?
“No. No, I won. Fair and square, plain and simple. In the end, it was my name they were screaming.”
He steadied himself as best he could, blinking hard until his reflection came into focus. Red. His pretty face and sorry ass had definitely seen better days. One could feel his palms grow numb, leaning his weight up against the counter before he felt steady enough to run the water and plug up the sink. The water ran, the sound echoing around him as he stood still. It wasn’t enough to drown out all those circling thoughts still leaving their mark on One’s mind.
“It’s just a little mess,” One breathed out, “That’s all.”
This wasn’t even a setback, no. This was, without a single doubt, a win. My win, he thought, his eyes still glazed over as his reflection stared back at him. The room spun a little, a black eye and a whole lot of-
No.
A small flicker of blue was enough to shake that thought away. Focus. This was the last fight of the weekend. And One would have all week to heal up and train for next time. A better next time. It wouldn’t happen again. That’s what he told himself as he felt his fingertips being submerged beneath the surface of the rising water. He fought for the focus to turn off the water. That was too close…too close for comfort.
What am I doing again?
Rinse and repeat. That’s all there was at this washed-up hotel. Yōkai that think they’re kings and queens by taking on that damn spider’s champion. That, and all the freaks getting a kick out of betting on and watching whoever’s next in the ring. Big Mama’s champion…
I bet I could take him out.
The thought echoed in his head. It washed away all the red and filled his chest with…something else. He pushed down the faintest flutter building in his guts, looking down as he watched all that red just drain away like it was never there. He was unfocused then, not even an hour ago now. One’s face still stung with near defeat. His feet shifted beneath him as he breathed out a low growl, the sound fading into the abyss.
I win.

Mind if I request the same thing for Leo? We know buddy has some inferiority complex so imagine him being jelly when the reader is going off about everything related to his brothers' species, perhaps maybe even his reaction to being beaten by his purple twin for being the first turtle the reader goes to to rant about their species?

There’s a low growl clawing up his throat.
You’re tapping Donnie’s cheeks like it means nothing and his brother is just staring at Leo with a smug smirk plastered on his face.
He clenches his fists, trying to patient. Surely, he’ll be next.
Then he watches you slip over to Raph. His heart clenches. Of course. Raph is super large and super spiky. Probably very cool to poke and prod.
This time he’s sure he’ll be next. Then he watches Mikey nuzzle into your hold as you run your hands over his scales.
Leo’s had enough. He goes to his room and sulks. If you’re gonna treat him like this, then you’re not gonna observe him at all.
Even if he wants to hear your breathless ranting as you excitedly pat his scales it talk about his eyes or his genes or his webbed fingers or—
Nope. He covers his face with a blanket. He doesn’t care.
He hears his curtain move and despite all the pep talk he just gave himself not to give in immediately to you, he peeks out from under his blanket.
You smile at him and sit on the bed, staring with his hands even when your gaze is fixed firmly on his stripes.
Well, of course. He is the most flashy of his brothers.
He slowly works his way out of the blankets, giving you the full view of his body as you rant on and on about red eared sliders.
Your hands pet over him and he shivers. As you talk and mention his name, he shivers. As your eyes glance over him, he shivers.
Only a few minutes of this and he’s melted into you, face hot and hidden in your shoulder. His hand is holding up your cheek so you don’t try to twist and look at him.
He can only imagine his expression right now.
