Here to enjoy fanarts, memes and posts about The Cuphead Show. I mostly make far-fetched theories/overanalysis and occasionally share some drawings.
Mugman is the MVP 🔵☕️
Here's an idea I wanted to draw for the beginning of December and thought was cute and wholesome. Chalice's character truly grew in me with season 3 and I love her friendship with the cupbros, especially Mugman.
THE SPARKLY SHOES ARE BACK ! And more than just one pair...
Let's pretend the "Special Delivery" episode took place before christmas so this scene can happen.
- idk,, I know it's not that deep but like all I can think Abt is how Cuphead kind of tries to one-up mugman when it's important to him. Or just ruins things for mugman and then mugs just has to deal with it. Like his candy being eaten, his recital, the wood he was chopping, the house he made or the pie he baked. Or even that one time he let him get taken away by the devil, etc etc. Like I don't wanna villainize Cuphead but the things he does to mugman is pretty shiddy.
Didja know that in The Cuphead Show they forgot to make Cuphead greedy? And Mugman is more scared than he is in the actual game. Didja know that?
I'm not really familiar with the game as I never played it, but I watched some parts of walkthrough. I think Cuphead's greedy side was kinda shown in the series when he was willing to give his soul to the Devil for 10 bucks. He played soul ball because he wanted to "win big" as well.
For Mugman, he is indeed more cautious, stressed and panicked that what I saw in the game ! But he still is able to be heroic and brave at times.
You could never bother me with such a great contribution, buddy ! You made me discover a lot of animation works I didn't know about and I'm always eager to learn. Thanks again for all of these additions. And really, feel free to add things whenever you want !
The Cuphead Show is a love letter to the 30's "rubber hose animation" and "golden age cartoons", but it also pays tribute to specific animators !
*Clip from season 3 but not a proper spoiler per say*
Just like season 2/ s1b, I have MANY THOUGHTS about this last batch of episodes ! I bingewatched it and enjoyed a lot of things. Will share my highlights later.
Now, it may sound silly, but my attention got particularly caught on a very short and specific moment of animation:
Doesn't Mugman's little head swaggle look familiar to you ?
It's just like the signature trademark of Milton Erwin Kahl, one of Disney's Old Men and supervisory team of animators ! I love when animators have their unique little quirks we can recognize when seeing the films/cartoons they worked on. I think this homage of the famous "Milt Kahl head swaggle" is completely intentional, as he used to do it with characters that are getting a bit too cocky or self-confident. Which is exactly the case for Mugman here (As he should, he deserves to be) !
This proves just how much love, thoughts and efforts the animators put in the creation of the Cuphead Show, with other very remarkable animated scenes through the whole series, and I think it's truly beautiful 🥺
Shoutout to them !
This makes me wonder: are there any other tributes we might have missed ?
OMG THANK YOU for all of those exemples ! I had caught the Snow White, Family Guy, Fantasia and Dumbo references but it's so cool and amazing to see there are so many more.

A little less than two days before the release of The Cuphead Show season 3 !!
Here's how I think (and hope) the reunion between Elder Kettle and Mugman will go after Cuphead saves him from Hell. Continuation to this post.
*kinda spoiler-ish*
I don't know, it sounded funny in my head.
I love how Elder Kettle is still completely oblivious to everything that's happening to his boys in the sneak peak. Last time he saw Cuphead, he was having a fricking breakdown over a pocket knife (or so he thinks) ! So in his grandpa-logic, it makes sense Mugman would cry about it too. Also don't mind him telling his depressing story like the unfiltered old man he is.
Mugman's face tho-
(Cuphead- You mean to tell me he DIDN'T KNOW I was MISSING ?¿)
OK. This steampunk au will be the end of me 🥲 I have TOO MANY thoughts ! The colors, the expressions and stances: everything is intense and dramatic !
I feel really bad for both brothers.
Cuphead kinda makes it all about himself, and that's understandable, because losing his brother once was already too much for him. No wonder he is scared and furious now that Mugman is mortal again and is risking to die in the same conditions.
But this ain't only about him. Can you imagine how awful it must be to be brought back to life in a artificial body, to not remember your death, and not feeling alive/like yourself anymore ? The whole concept is terryfying and confusing. It must have been really hard for Mugman too. He just wanted to come back to his old self and find some peace of mind ! He couldn't really know this would upset Cuphead this much because Cuphead was unable to tell him anything.
