Okay I've seen people talk about how Thomas doesn't owe his fans anything, etc etc, but... He does, actually.
Fans have been paying Thomas for years now to help him make his videos. When he came out with his patreon, one of his promises was that paying would help him get out more videos quicker. For a while, because of everything with COVID, his lack of videos was to be expected. That made sense. But by now, with him repeatedly promising to get the finale out and repeatedly pushing it back and instead almost exclusively pushing out sponsored ads and,, whatever this was, a lot of us are losing our patience. And with good reason. Aside from him promising it for years now, people have been paying him to make these videos. And this is what he has to show for it. Yeah. We're pissed. We have every right to be. You can't be a content creator, and promise your fans that if they pay you, you'll get things out quicker and more effectively, and then just take the money and run with a three year hiatus, and come back almost exclusively posting ads and then expect everyone to sing your praises when you post some two minute video nobody wants instead of the one (1) thing your fans have been paying you for.
At the end of the day, all any of us want is some honesty. Some transparency. If he doesn't want to do Sanders Sides anymore, he should just say it instead of trying to milk it for money. But Sanders Sides was his thing. It's what people came to him for, and he knows if he admits he doesn't want to do it anymore he'll lose a lot of fans. What he doesn't seem to realize is lying and pushing out bait is also losing him fans anyways, possibly even more fans than he'd lose if he were just honest about where he was.
I don't usually participate in fandom drama but this has been getting on my nerves, just like it's been upsetting everyone else.
i just screamed so loud i broke the fucking sound barrier. THERE IS NO DEMAND FOR THIS. THERE IS NONE. You know what there is demand for? The fucking FINALE.

One of my favourite bits of media history trivia is that back in the Elizabethan period, people used to publish unauthorised copies of plays by sending someone who was good with shorthand to discretely write down all of the play's dialogue while they watched it, then reconstructing the play by combining those notes with audience interviews to recover the stage directions; in some cases, these unauthorised copies are the only record of a given play that survives to the present day. It's one of my favourites for two reasons:
It demonstrates that piracy has always lay at the heart of media preservation; and
Imagine being the 1603 equivalent of the guy with the cell phone camera in the movie theatre, furtively scribbling down notes in a little book and hoping Shakespeare himself doesn't catch you.

reblog and put in the tags the earliest songs you remember actively liking as a child (asking adults to play them for you, learning the lyrics, being excited when they came on the radio etc.)

So one of the things that Good Omens, the book in particular, points out again and again, is that Heaven and Hell are functionally the same. “Anyway, why are we talking about this good and evil?” book Crowley says. “They’re just names for sides. We know that.”
The two sides may seem ideologically opposed, but they do suspiciously similar things, and neither of them care about humanity. They’re both willing to destroy all life on Earth to prove whose gang is best. (There’s a bit of a Cold War analogy here that’s very obvious in the book.) That all was made very clear in season one.
But what the Job minisode shows is that Heaven and Hell are really one system, playing a game of good cop/bad cop with humans, angels and demons alike.
We learn that God and Satan not only talk to each other, but are on familiar enough terms to make a bet. (Which involves making some humans suffer to prove a point, very on brand for Good Omens’ God.) These are not some mid-level metaphysical bureaucrats sharing information through back channels that don’t exist but totally do. This is collusion at the highest level! They write up a contract and everything! And then Heaven simply stands back and lets Hell do its dirty work.
(Flash forward 4500 years to Aziraphale telling Crowley he should be the one to kill the Antichrist so Heaven doesn’t have “blood on its hands.”)
Heaven and Hell also work as a unified system to keep their respective angels and demons in line. Heaven needs Hell in order to ensure compliance in its own ranks. The Fall must have had a huge demonstration effect: this is what will happen to anyone else who steps out of line. Heaven mostly uses fear to control its own population, with the threat of falling always there to ensure obedience. And Hell is full of angry demons, isn’t it? Anger is pretty much the only emotion it’s socially acceptable for a demon to have, and Heaven is very useful for keeping that anger focused on an external target.
The Job storyline is the first time in the series we’ve seen Heaven and Hell working together so directly, but I don’t think it’ll be the last. They’re in the same building, after all. One of them just has a better view.

okay but can we talk about how Aziraphale’s offer is, essentially, Mr. Darcy’s first proposal?
Mr. Darcy’s first proposal, if you haven’t read Pride and Prejudice, is a famously-bad train wreck. he spends most of it dunking on Elizabeth’s family and circumstances and saying outright that he’s better than her. then, after all of that, he still asks her to marry him and implies that she would be insane not to accept. understandably, Elizabeth completely rocks his shit when she turns him down.
from Crowley’s perspective, that’s exactly what Aziraphale’s offer is. he points out that Hell is awful and suggests that Crowley’s life would be better if he came back to Heaven—the ‘good guys’— with Aziraphale. he can’t understand why Crowley would ever turn him down!
like Mr. Darcy, Aziraphale is doing what he thinks is best for the person he loves. but just like Mr. Darcy, he completely fumbles the proposal because he doesn’t fully understand what that person wants, or even who that person is!

Thinking about how I need to see Crowley in mortal peril in season 3. I need to see their roles reversed, to watch Aziraphale comprehend in a moment everything he is about to lose and truly understand the panic Crowley has felt for him so many times before. I need Aziraphale to make a choice, to move heaven and hell and earth to protect his most important person and whatever chance they have of a future together. And I need to see them reunite in a world where Crowley knows Aziraphale will always do what it takes to rescue him too
