muse: yedam ↳ open to: m / f / nb ↳ plot: yedam’s been stuck on this boss fight for days and needs your muse’s help to beat it.

               usually yedam’s pretty good at boss fights, but for some reason this one’s got her stumped. if she has to listen to that awful sea witch laugh one more time, she’s going to throw her controller out of the window. no she’s not, they’re expensive and she’s not that childish. why she decided it was a good idea to replay all of kingdom hearts when she’d needed her dad’s help before is a mystery, but now it’s all she can focus on. ❝ please help me, ❞ yedam practically begs, game paused just before the big fight, ❝ i’ve been trying to beat her for the last four days and i just can’t do it! ❞

ROWAN WAS ONLY half paying attention to yedam’s struggle with the ursula, headphones over his ears as he worked with some sound files on his laptop beside her. but when there was a controller in his face, he moved his headphones off one ear and looked at her, then back to the game over screen. a small smile crept over his features, “flotsam and jetsam getting the best of you ??”

He kept flinching away when she cleaned his wound. “Thank you for um helping, you didn’t have too.” He said with a small smile. “You’re okay, right?” Cody asked, concerned laced in his tone..

SHE NODDED, “y-yeah. fine i-i just...i’m--” nervous? anxious? practically paralyzed with fear over this interaction with a new person? none of those were normal sounding answers. and the anxiety of not knowing what to say made it even more difficult for her to speak. nothing. she couldn’t form the words now. instead she cleared her throat and diverted all her attention to the wound she was so clumsily cleaning.

DUNGEONS & DRAGONS . truly the pinnacle of nerdom that, as a dungeon master, requires so much more planning than sangchul sometimes has time & energy for. but the gca’s weekly stream was coming and, thanks to annie and her decision to veer the group completely off their original path, he had to do some additional planning, character creation, and background set up before their next meeting, “physically, yes, i’m awake. mentally, not really.” sangchul looked up from his notes, “ --- you ever thought about playing d&d?”

Very collected and put together, professional, almost snobbishly so. He works alongside Sangchul managing the GCA’s youtube channel but isn’t usually on camera. Nearly every video idea, every gameplay that goes up on the channel, everything that makes the channel the glorious wealth of content that it is: It was very likely Hyungmin’s idea that Sangchul approved. Though he doesn’t show his face on the channel, he shows his face just about everywhere else. Gaming events, conventions, panels -- Hyungmin presents and speaks about games and the state of the industry as a whole all over the place. He calls himself an expert, lots of people concur, but is he really an expert when he finds himself playing the latest releases less and less often? “Okay I didn’t know think they’d get violent…I thought the worst they’d do is keep bothering you.” Cody let out a sigh, holding the ice pack to his eye. A hiss came from him, feeling the burn against his cut.

HER HANDS SHAKE A LITTLE as she fumbles with the disinfectant, pressing it a bit to roughly and a bit to hastily on the wound, “i-i-i appreciate it..th-though...” she’s a little overwhelmed by all that happened. and while her instinct was to just leave and go home, it felt wrong to just leave the kind stranger in his state.

i don’t want this to sound like i don’t appreciate the effort of theme makers, since i personally know how much time and creativity it takes to make something new, but i’m one of the rpers who aren’t happy with all these paid themes. PLEASE read till the end of the post to know why some people ( myself included ) aren’t really happy with this:

people have financial problems: and i know these theme makers have them too and that’s why they ask for money, but some rpers just want to rp and have a pretty theme cuz they don’t have the time or capability or just aren’t interested in learning how to code.

many of us are from outside of the us / europe: as far as i could see, all paid themes are in dollars. it may not seem like a lot to some of you but i’m from a third world country ( argentina ) and i know A LOT of rpers who are from my country or another one. a $3 theme may seem okay for you but that’s around 130 pesos in my country and right now that’s a lot ( buying a bag of sliced bread costs between 130 pesos and 140 pesos, just so you have an idea ). 

not everyone has their own credit card: also not everyone can simply ask their parent / guardian for their credit card just to purchase a theme. it could be because they have a bad relationship, their guardian doesn’t care about their rping, whatever reason it is.

there are some theme makers out there who are aware of all this, don’t get me wrong. we all are thankful for makers who have ko-fi to make donations to but still prefer to post public themes and i would really love to give them some money, except i’m not really in a financial position to do it right now. i feel like most people just sent anon hate and spread bitterness about this topic, so i wanted to make a more explanatory post instead of keeping it at the back of my mind and watching it get bigger and bigger.

the host listens and if it is a watchable radio, anyone would be able to notice this big yet warm smile that graces his feautures. “ is that so, eunji-ssi? ” for a moment he wonders what could she be writing, contemplates whether to ask or not. but daehyun knows better that he shouldn’t. “ maybe i can help you, even the littlest bit. ”

HER FREE HAND twisted and tugged at the collar of her polo. she nodded in response, as though he could actually see her. yes, that was so. a partially written document mocked her lack of progress from the computer screen, “-- you’re already very helpful by just...existing, really--it feels nice to talk to you again.” she laughed a little, embarrassed by her own words, knowing full well they were being broadcast to a late night audience, “i still listen, you know! -- even though i wasn’t calling, i listened diligently every time you were on.”

            she knows that cutie that sat near the back of the cafe…beyond just being a regular at the coffee shop she worked at but rather…there was something FAMILIAR about him, rena just couldn’t put her hand on it. she was often too BUSY to really look and figure things out, but as things winded down and she had the time to get out from behind the counter to clean up around the establishment, as she nears the male, she gets a better look. that’s when a lightbulb goes off in her mind — ding ding ding !! it’s him !! a gamer a friend had introduced her to a while ago, what were the chances ?? well, then again, south korea was swarming with famous people, be it mainstream with entertainment companies or underground, self — proclaimed celebs. he looks so tired…maybe she should offer him something stronger when he wakes up, rena’s sure that his coffee’s gone cold at this point.

TAEIL SHIFTED IN HIS SLEEP, arms moving to accommodate the new position his sleeping form was trying to get into. in the process, however, his outstretched arm hit the coffee cup and knocked it over, spilling the tepid liquid onto the table and causing a loud clattering sound that startled him from his sleep, “ shit ... “ he cursed quietly,  snatching up his ipad and putting it aside before picking up the cup and shuffling for napkins.

muse: daehyun. plot: nothing much, daehyun is a radio host of a late night program and he usually talks a lot to people and listens to whatever they have to share / ask. he’s no good advicer but a great listener and maybe your muse really likes talking to him? 

“ oh! did i just hear a familiar voice at the other end of the line! good evening, dear, it’s been a while since you last called. ” daehyun perked up at the familiarity of the voice that echoed in his headphones, genuinely glad to hear from a regular. “ have you been well? the weather is so good lately, what are up to, hmm? ” he began, wanting to hear as much as he could and also give another listener the chance to get live and pour their heart out. 

ONE WOULD THINK that by now, eunji wouldn’t have such a sharp intake of breath when she hears his voice over the phone. she’d called so often in the past...but it’s been a minute. anxiety wells up in her and she takes a moment to collect herself to speak to that familiar host, “h-hi...yeah, the weather’s very nice, i...” she clears her throat, sinking in her desk chair, “i-i’m writing. b-but was feeling a little uninspired...”

HE SNORES . it’s a light, not extremely noticeable kind of snore. But if it’s quiet enough and you listen closely, you’ll definitely hear nasally snores coming from him. Perhaps if he’d finished the coffee that was sitting untouched in a white mug in front of him, he might’ve avoided this display. but after spending all of the previous day and much of the evening doing a charity stream, it’s no surprise he’s out cold. under his arm is an ipad just waiting to get stolen, and on it are some designs he wanted to review for his game...but again. he’s out cold.

MUSE: lee taeil, child star turned indie game developer and twitch streamer with a smart mouth that’s definitely going to get him smacked one day. PLOT: taeil fell asleep at a coffee shop  he visits often because it’s out of the way and no one really recognizes him -- except your muse, the barista. have fun.
