you can actually put suit parts and bodies in the drier if it has an air dry/fluff setting, so theres no heat. It takes a couple cycles for a full dry though.
yes! again it's rather involved bc especially if you live with other people you have to keep going back to check on it and run it through again
and some fluff settings DO have heat, i know mine does
i feel as though the risk isnt worth it! the possibility of accidental heat or a roommate/family member changing the setting is too high for me, personally -milkmod

(1/2) Hey there. I was getting a partial that comes with arm sleeves, and I can't find much information on how to care for them. Obviously I'm gonna ask my maker for tips on how to care for them, but I was wondering how I'm supposed to dry them and stuff. Also should I still be wearing Under Armor under them and whatever shirt I'm wearing?
Tumblr media
yes! so if they're detached armsleeves for a partial, you can just throw em into the washer on cold. DON'T put them in the dryer; to dry them you can lay them out on towels in your bathroom and either put on a box fan or give it a good press with another towel to get as much water out of it as possible. you can also put in in the washer again for just a spin cycle to get the water out. the reason why you dont want to hang them up is the weight of the water can stretch them out.
and for my partial i always wore underarmor under my shirt! the back of fur can not only absorb some sweat but is a little irritating straight on your skin.
for your hands, you can try getting some performance gloves; i tried that out a few times and it worked well for me.
just always remember after taking off your underarmor ALWAYS hang it up or if you can throw it straight in the wash. if you leave it crumpled on the floor it makes it smell awful :( -milkmod

Sharpie does bleed off of foam, but only with rubbing alcohol from what I've experienced. It sometimes runs from regular washing but it depends on the color.

Cyberacat over on instagram is a murrsuiter who has a great tutorial on how to deep clean a fursuit I’d suggest checking it out! (Yes, she wears the same suit in public but I see nothing wrong with that especially with how good she cleans it, as long as it’s clean I don’t see a problem, it’s like wearing a shirt during sex and then going to the store after it’s been washed)
check it out if you want it y'all -milkmod

I'd like to kinda thank the blog for showing grimy suits and such. I'm thinking about getting a suit and now I'm convinced that if I do ever get a suit, I know what happens if I don't take care of it like I should! Thanks again!

anon: In the move to Twitter in the wake of the Tumblrpocalypse, I've been finding a lot of... questionable suits. But this is the worst by far. It looks like it's never ever been cleaned/brushed 🤢

anon: I’m really hoping that it’s just because the suit was old, but they just got a new suit and it’s really nice, so I’m praying they keep it that way...

Just to let you know, KhordKitty, someone you blogged about on here multiple times, turned out to be a real monster. He got outed as a pedophile, a zoophile, child abuser, and just all around gross dude.

I wonder if it would possible to figure out a dry "shampoo" for fursuits, I feel like if that could be made possible we'd see less gross suits. Obviously it couldn't be the ONLY thing you use to wash suits but still.
feel like the washing machine is so much easier than dry shampoo. and for heads, it's quite easy just to spot clean. i actually just noticed a stain on one of my heads after talking her out of the closet after a long time and just grabbed my little green machine and it came right out! -milkmod

How do you deal with pilling on your bodysuit's the backing, if at all?
You shave it off with an electric razor!! DON’T brush it with a slicker; it will ruin your suit! -milkmod

Future of dirtygrimyfursuits
Surprisingly it seems as though none of our posts have been flagged by the new system. I really thought almost every fursuit one would have been! I’m really unsure what to do moving forward, as it seems as though tumblr is literally about to shut down. As we function mainly on submissions, I would say that this blog will effectively be dead. I suppose we’ll have to see how other furry blogs fair in the upcoming weeks. Otherwise, thank you everyone for all of your submissions!

Hey I have a problem, when I sit down in suit I sweat through the bottom of my suit. It’s super inconvenient and gross and I don’t want it to happen again. I wore under armor but the outside fur was absolutely soaked with sweat, is there anything I can use to prevent this happening again? Am I wearing the wrong under armor??
Gosh, this is a difficult one to me. Everyone sweats a different amount and when you’re in a fullsuit, you sweat all over your entire body. I’ve definitely left a mark of condensation with my butt before, too, haha.
I don’t think you’re wearing the wrong underarmor. You can try damage control by giving your handler a towel or put one in a backpack that you can just stuff into your suit when you sit and rest.
The other is you could try to keep yourself cooler by using a fan in your muzzle or one of those fursuitsupplies necklace fans to try to prevent yourself from sweating.
I can’t really think of any other solution to this ;; if any of our followers have had this issue before or something similar, input would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise i’m not sure ;; -milkmod

hey i have a question! does black sharpie bleed when washed? i used it to mark foam and i’m suddenly worried if the suit will go black when i was it from the ink bleeding.
I don’t think it should be an issue. Usually there’s more of an issue when it’s used to mark thinly backed furs. Personally, I’ve used it and had it used on things like bodysuits and stuff that go through the wash and haven’t seen any negative side effects. -milkmod
