Heylo, I’ve been messing around with making custom character sheets for my current D&D character and I also need some cash for a bunch of unexpected expenses that have popped up + trying to move soon.
So! If you’re interested in getting a cool custom sheet with all of your character’s abilities, skills and everything laid out, plus space for a portrait/picture, I’m going to open up some commission spots.
I can also do extra pages for equipment, feats, familiars, etc. or we can work on the layout if you want everything in one place. The example here is of my Artificer with all of their skills up to level 20 displayed. I’m also familiar with the Dungeon World character system if that’s what your character is based in.
Pricing:
Basic Character Sheet: $35 Each Additional Page: +$5-10 (dependent on complexity)
If you’re interested, email me at [email protected] with a basic summary of what you want.
And, just as a disclaimer, I will not be creating a character portrait or drawing for you. You are free to provide one that you already have and I can work it into the design, or I can leave space for you to add it yourself.

I think I’ve posted this before, but it’s a THING now.
In the game I DM, I ended up making up a recurring merchant NPC just for shits and giggles - a Kobold who calls himself Dumas and goes around selling strange magical/enchanted items which are… not as they seem. His prices are enticing, but the items have strange properties, and it’s a gamble to see if your investment is worth it.
My players love him so much they have taken to Sending him every time they want something new, and all of their party funds end up going to this little creature, who is delighted, and is now probably the richest bastard in all of Barovia. (Yes, this is in Curse of Strahd…. look, humor needs to be a part of EVERY game imo, even the Gothiest of them all.)

combat additions to make it actually take more than a round for your players to kill your cool boss
difficult terrain. flood that cavern! oops the floor is lava! make the walls attack and grapple!
environmental effects in general. make an avalanche happen as soon as combat starts. combat during a storm is a great opportunity for lightning to strike. rain, snow, darkness, distance, fog, anything that’ll impose disadvantage on their hits.
charm and fear effects. charm/fear conditions on a PC or two can totally turn the tide of an encounter.
straight up just swallow somebody. sometimes ingestion is the answer.
official statblock be damned, your boss should ALWAYS have additional legendary actions and/or resistances, condition and damage resistances/immunities, multiple attacks (probably more than the statblock says) and a motherfucking escape plan!
portals. seriously, just chuck some portals in there. I’ve never run a combat that couldn’t be improved by the addition of a portal or two.
time constraints, mid-combat puzzles, a non-combat goal, anything the PCs have to do during the fight that isn’t actually fighting.
in general, just get weird with it! wizards of the coast doesn’t own you! no gods no masters! hit harder and have more fun!

Ten origin stories for Dungeons & Dragons sorcerers that aren’t “my mom fucked a dragon”:
Sorcerer who attained their powers by practising bending reality to their will for thirty minutes every morning, and is honestly baffled when people try to explain that magic doesn’t work like that
Sorcerer who was incredibly unlucky and kept getting struck by lightning, and after the seventh or eight time it sort of stuck
Sorcerer who claims to be a god of calamity and ruin, and they’re actually telling the truth – they just happen to be a very small god of calamity and ruin
Sorcerer who tried some pipeweed they found in a beholder’s stash and experienced some unusual long-term effects
Sorcerer whose parents learned the hard way why you’re not supposed to get frisky on the night of a lunar eclipse (answer: because you end up with a baby who can conjure knives)
Sorcerer who’s a time traveller from an unimaginably distant future where people can just do that
Sorcerer who spent four minutes technically dead due to one of those incidents that begin with the phrase “watch this”, and woke up with slight brain damage and power over unearthly spirits
Sorcerer who’s been cursed to die in a fire, and the curse is fulfilling itself in an extremely roundabout way
Sorcerer who was supposed to be an ogre mage’s dinner, but the ogre mage had been brewing potions the night before and didn’t clean their cauldron before dunking the poor kid into the soup
Sorcerer who got so angry one day that they spontaneously developed the ability to set things on fire with their brain

some dnd backstory ideas that give your character a reason to leave home that isn’t “everyone in my family died.” (just to say: i have nothing against those backstories (i use them a lot), but its fun to mix it up!)
family/friends/personal
someone close to you is sick. you need to adventure to find a cure
someone stole something important from you and you need to find it
you’ve received a message from a long lost relative and are trying to find them
someone that you love has been kidnapped (maybe you have to earn money to pay a ransom or complete some deed…)
adventuring runs in the family! everyone is expected to complete one quest in their lives
your family/culture sends people out to complete certain tasks when they reach a certain age as a rite of passage
another player’s character saved you in the past so you feel indebted to them and travel with them, protecting/aiding them
there’s a magical drought in your hometown and you have to fix it
your hometown doesn’t have a lot of jobs so you have to travel and send money back home
some childhood friends and you made a “scavenger hunt” where you try and complete a checklist of certain tasks (ie. defeat a barbarian in hand to hand combat, steal x amount of gold, slay a dragon, etc) in an allotted amount of time
quests/jobs
a god/patron has sent you on a quest to do something for them
you’ve been hired by someone to complete a task (and you get sucked into the big adventure along the way)
you’re on a quest for knowledge. maybe it’s to learn the best ways of fighting, maybe it’s something more academic related
your priest received a vision from your god and they sent you on a quest
you’re writing a book about the world and different cultures and you need first hand experience
you’ve found every map you’ve come across is shitty, so you decide to become a cartographer and make your own
you’re a detective who helps solve crimes and need to travel to solve a particular case
you’re a collector of a certain object and travel across the land to find it
you’re apart of an adventuring academy and have to complete a quest to graduate
you’re an artisan and you travel with your wares, trying to sell them. alternatively, you’re trying to spread word of your business and gain new business partners
you worked at a tavern your whole life where an old bard would sing songs of their adventuring party and that inspired you to go and do some adventuring of your own
feel free to add some of your own!

I love watching two people who can just fight perfectly together, and was like ‘how would you translate this to D&D?’ This is the first attempt, will probably take some tweaking to make it valuble but not overpowered.

Bards are too powerful. They can learn mass suggestion. All they have to do is yell “Everybody  clap your hands!” and make up to 12 people do the Cha Cha slid for 24 hours

Ideas to break the mold with your next D&D character.
Barbarian - Rather than be a screaming wall of beef, try a DEX based character. I’d love to see a Barbarian dual wielding light weapons instead of another half-orc with a greataxe/sword/hammer
Bard - Go to horny jail. Stop that. Just play a storyteller, or a con-artist, or a painter, or a wise and older teacher type.
Cleric - You’re automatically the mom of the group so why not embrace it? Cast your healing spells by licking your thumb and wiping your party members cheeks. Or give them forehead kisses and wish them luck on their first day of adventuring. Embarrass your party because they honestly can’t go on without you anyways
Druid - You don’t have to just be Radaghast the Brown.exe. Maybe your druid looks after a toxic swamp. Maybe they’re from a snow-covered mountain. Maybe they’re a street wise orphan who found out at a young age that the rats in the alley could speak to him, and he to them.
Fighter - This class isn’t as boring as you think. Have you ever seen a fighter use a bow? Try it, you won’t regret the power of an Arcane Archer. Or maybe dual Rapiers? Fighter is your chance to get the weird weapon combos out of your system. Also, Battle Master is severely underrated.
Monk - Ok. This one is personally going to be a character I play soon. Fat monk. Take advantage of the fact that your class features don’t care who you are or what you look like. Imagine your enemies surprise when the skinny little gnome punches like a truck. Or the hapless looking Tortle just runs straight up a sheer wall. Or the rotund and lumbering guy without any armour just dashes around like lightning. (Yes I DO main Bob in Tekken, shut up)
Paladin - I can’t believe how many people STILL think Paladins are the anti-fun police. The way you worship and play as a religious class is entirely up to you and your DM. Why not apply the stereotypes of another class to your Paladin? Maybe he’s the horny bard stand in. Or maybe he rages out pretty often.
Ranger - Everyone who plays 5e avoids this class because it's "underpowered" well, to that I say, underpowered chatacters are the most interesting. Try not worrying about a great build and focus on making the person inside the class the actual focus.
Rogue - Don’t be a criminal. Don’t even be just a guy who’s reeeeeealllly good at killing things. Sneak Attack is just a title, it’s not a combat style. Maybe you’re a great tactician, or maybe you’re an armourer’s apprentice so you know how to examine weak points. Maybe you’re a circus performer who’s fallen on hard times and turns to adventuring for money and survival. Don’t forget that Sneak works with ranged weapons
Sorcerer - This class is always described as “sexy spellcaster” but Charisma doesn’t always mean your character is physically attractive. You can have a forceful and charismatic personality in any body. Side note: fire isn’t the only type of damage in D&D
Warlock - Ah yes, the class with strings attached. This one takes some working with your DM but all I can say is don’t forget about your patron. Your relationship with them isn’t always a master/servant dynamic. Maybe you’re madly in love with them? Maybe they are always annoying you and nagging but you can’t exactly drop your agreement with them now. Or, perhaps, to paraphrase Travis Willingham; they need you more than you need them.
Wizard - Consider why you chose to become a wizard. Being one doesn’t happen by chance. You’re more than just a big brain. Are you sleazy and seeking to use spells to make life easier? Do you have ambitions on inventing a crazy new spell? I’d also love to see a Wizard with a high STR or CON score and just be a big beefy boi as well as being smart.

Because people asked for more items, here are more items! They aren’t magical mind you, but I’ve had them made for a while and my players managed to completely miss all of them, so have fun with them!
EDIT: It occurs to me I never wrote down the range of these weapons when I made them. I guess the Longbow and Heavy Crossbow would have the same range as they usually would, while the Harpoon Gun likely has a range of 100/400.

I don’t have the time or brain to run a sustained campaign rn, but what if I just sporadically write a series of one-shots inspired by increasingly obscure interests of mine?
This week, just for Halloween, [spoiler bc some of my players follow me here]. Next... idk, the Epic of Gilgamesh or something. The Nart Sagas. Xiognu political drama. Good luck guessing what kind of bullshit I’m on this time, friends!

RANDOM TABLE: BOOKS
Yes, 100 random books, notes and diaries for your fantasy library, office or otherwise. Maybe your players find them in the burned out husk of a home, or maybe they’re hidden away in a dark tomb somewhere? Some of these are not exactly as they seem, so beware!
Many thanks to @thetitanalone, @marimolejo, @dykes-and-dragonss, @fallingintomagmell and @ramenmom for coming up with ideas so quickly I could hardly keep up. Open the image in new tab for better quality. Have fun playing, and feedback is much appreciated! If you like what I do, consider buying me a coffee!
