- feel free to interpret prompts as literally or figuratively as you want (the only limit is your imagination!!)

- submissions can be both sfw or nsfw, just remember to tag them appropriately

A couple of announcements and prompt voting!

1. The wonderful, delightful, writer, creator, polyglot and haver-of-a-top-tier-sense-of-humor, Richie (aka @eugeneshelton) will be our co-mod for this year’s Sledgefu Week! Richie has been a Sledgefu truther for quite some time now, and is also one of the mods over at the Sledgefu Hivemind Discord. We’re lucky to have him and everyone tell him thank you!

2. Based on your votes, Sledgefu Week will be August 30 - September 5 (that’s 5.5 weeks from now). That’s a quick turn around, so we want to remind everyone that we will take late submissions for a month after the ship week ends.

3. As a reminder, we have a discord server that all are welcome to join. We’re a small group and are a great support system. We chat about random things but also provide support in the lead-up to the ship week; we often do writing sprints, brainstorming or just provide a place to bounce ideas. Come join us, we’re very friendly!

4. Now to the really fun part. Here is the prompt voting poll! The instructions are in the form, so please read through them before you complete it. The big thing we want to point out is that one option is “free choice.” If you would like the choice to pick any sfw prompt you want for one day during the ship week, then vote for that one. The poll will be open until Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 12:00 AM CST.

I’ve heard a few unofficial requests for another Sledgefu Week this year, which is very exciting! So, just to get a better idea of how many people might be interested, please vote on this poll. Reblogs to spread the word are also appreciated (but not required, of course).

College!AU - Merriell “Snafu” Shelton/Eugene Sledge

I also need (because I need lots of things when it comes to Sledgefu) Gene and Snaf being invited to some party and snaf going out to buy a suit and when Eugene sees him in it for the first time, just being absolutely fucking floored by how beautifully that grubby lil Cajun boy scrubs up!!

I’mgiving you quick responses, Jay, but I love what you’re sending me!

SidPhillips has finally accepted that Eugene and Shelton have somethinggoing on, so even though he isn’t psyched about it (as he’s voiced toEugene on multiple occasions) he’s invited them both to one of hisand Mary’s big, social gatherings. Eugene has mixed feelings aboutit, glad that his friend is coming around but also not lookingforward to a big party, and even less excited about actually tellingShelton he’s got to go to it with him.

Asexpected, Shelton is sulky and moody about the entire thing, andEugene knows it’s due to his nerves, but it’s driving him crazy. Hedecides they should go find a suit for Shelton so he has somethinghe’s comfortable wearing, thinking that’ll at least take a little ofthe edge off.

Theygo looking, and Eugene points out some things he thinks he might looknice in, and Shelton tries some of them on, but he won’t show Eugenewhile they are at the shop. He picks one out and they buy it andleave. And Eugene was right – his mood is a little better and he’sa little easier to handle for the rest of the time leading up to theparty.

Sothey’re getting ready for the party (as an aside: Shelton keepspoking his head into the shower while Eugene’s in there and makingwaggly brows at him), and Eugene is waiting for Shelton to finish up,and he gets impatient and goes into the bedroom to check on him, andhe sees him checking himself over in the mirror. Shelton looks kindof embarrassed about Eugene walking in right then, but he grins whenEugene’s jaw goes slack at the sight of him. He tells him, “Iwanted to surprise ya,” and Eugene is on him a moment later,pushing him against the wall and sticking his tongue down his throat,and fuck the party, he wants Shelton right now. Shelton is laughingand pushing him off, telling him they’ve got to go, and he can showhim how much he likes it when they get home.

Later,even though Eugene promised himself he’d keep himself in check at theparty to avoid making Sid uncomfortable, he finds every chance he canto pull Shelton off into a corner and make out for a minute. He’smore eager to leave than Shelton when everything wraps up.
