That they did it to get fans to stop boycotting them, they haven’t made a statement about Palestine since then and it was very weird how they were blocking people on both accounts speaking about Palestine but until fans boycotted, and started to speak louder against them for their silence they literally said “We hear you.” when they donated. I truly don’t think it was out of the kindness of their hearts, they noticed fans were pissed and decided to do something unlike D20 who’s made multiple public statements about Palestine and still finding new ways to show support to Palestine. And Matt video was so oddly timed considering he used his chronic pain and depression as an excuse for why he can’t make a statement about “the war in Palestine.” as he says. And lied about taking a social media break when he’s been active on social media— His chronic pain stops him from making some damn tweets and researching but doesn’t stop him from traveling !! ?? None of them except Liam has made a public statement (which wasn’t much but still something I guess?) And I think it’s weird that Sam liked this Critical Role Cooking for Gaza post when they donated but now it’s no where in his likes.

I also think it’s weird how his mom praised them for donating like they weren’t blocking fans for even saying the name Palestine on their page? Some people literally just said Free Palestine and they were blocked for months and then they unblocked them including me after their donation? + Laura Bailey blocks people for speaking about Palestine on instagram ? So again I don’t believe that donation was out of the kindness of their hearts

No, the cast of critical role is not required to publicly take a stance on Palestine, but they have openly spoken about political issues before so we know they at least can and are willing to when they consider it important, and at this point in which facts are so evident and silence has become a statement by itself, I personally can't help but wonder, why haven't they spoken out? Not even one or two of them individually? Not even a mild, cowardly "two sides of the conflict" statement?? Personally it's starting to rub me the wrong way, and I'm finding myself feeling less and less comfortable watching them speak about character analysis and in-game politics and conflicts while they ignore such an urgent and critical real life issue so blatantly. It's sad but it's kinda ruining the show for me, as it has ruined so many content, shows, movies, artists and creators within the last couple of months.

So yeah, they don't owe me or anyone a statement, just as I don't owe them the benefit of the doubt or loyalty when it stops making sense to me to support them, and it does stop making sense when I think about palestinian or arab fans that might be feeling suddenly betrayed or unsafe in the critter comunity, I think about how I would feel if it was my people's genocide they were keeping quiet about, and I just, I can't feel the same joy I used to feel watching them.

Of course this is my personal stance on the matter and you are not wrong or evil for keeping enjoying their content, but if you support palestine and understand the gravity of their situation, I encourage you to ask yourself why your faves don't and won't bother to even speak about it. And you don't need to cancel them in order to do that, you can be critical of them without hating on them or quitting their content. I'm still unsure about how I feel about the situation myself, but I think it's important to allow yourself to ask questions.

no cr isn't about politics, but the fact that a handful of the cast members are openly political on their social media pages (and suddenly they're not which maybe it's not a coincidence maybe it is) you would think maybe they would have said Something.

they SHOULD donate, but even if they at least SPOKE UP that would mean something. people are influenced by others, and as we should still be contacting representatives, they could be doing the same and they could be urging us to do so as well. they could be calling for ceasefires and letting their fans who trust them know that this isn't okay.

the fact that their current campaign setting takes inspiration from Palestine and that area and they're just profiting off of it while talking about such heavy issues in game that mimic the real world, but they can't say anything about the real-world events that have impact on real human lives. which just because they're talking about things in game is not the same as them coming out and saying things plainly.

i guess you learn more about people in situations like these. why does the color of a person's skin, their race and ethnicity, where they live, why does any of that suddenly matter when it comes to if they should live or not. it doesn't. they're innocent humans being murdered that can't fight back and can't get help because it's being ripped away from them and held back. leave the world a better place my ass.

if boycotting and not watching is literally what it will take to get them to say ANYTHING I think it's worth it. sure it's for entertainment but those are people with loud voices and significant profiles in the end that even saying something could be help. careful silence isn't worth anything. this shouldn't have to be about sides if that's what they're worried about, it should be about the fact that innocent humans are losing their homes, their lives, their memories, everything.
