Yes the whiskey speech isn't up here. That's because it would obviously sweep the entire competition.

Guys, in honour of Cecil doing so well on the sexyman polls, I think we should start a podcast centric sexyman poll. We have enough of them it could work.
Drop your male(?) specimen in the rbs.

It’s finally done! After around a year, my handbound copy of Pryce and Carter’s Deep Space Survival Procedure and Protocol manual is finished. More than 1000 pages, the manual is 7cm (around 3 inches) thick and is a hard cover, with the gold cover painted by hand.
Lots of thanks to @facelessoldgargoyle who answered my questions on bookbinding in this post and really helped me get started with binding. (Even if I wanted to start out with binding the whole of tma transcripts)

tbh gabriel urbina saying "i hope you, hera, and minkowski are watching die hard today" for eiffel's 40th is so perfect not just because it makes me feel like my heart has been wrung out and put gently back into my chest for how much i hope so too, and not just because eiffel is definitely a "die hard counts as a christmas movie" guy (or maybe more accurately a "die hard is the only christmas movie i like" guy), but also because "wolf 359 is a christmas podcast" is the "die hard is a christmas movie" of podcasts.

eiffel's birthday feels like more of an event than the average character birthday, and i think that's because 1) it's important in canon, both as a turning point for the show and something that's important to him. it clearly bothers him that people forget. 2) it's important out of canon and kinda doubles as an anniversary for the show in general; a lot of people's memories of wolf 359 are tied to this time of year. 3) it brings together the not-insignificant and highly opinionated demographic of people who love eiffel, hate christmas, and love that eiffel hates christmas. the stars aligned for this one.

If Sam Lambert has a million fans, Im one of them. If Sam Lambert has a thousand fans, Im one of them. If Sam Lambert has a hundred fans, Im one of them. If Sam Lambert has one fan, Im that fan. If Sam Lambert has no fans, Im no longer living. If the world is against Sam Lambert, Im against the world. Happy birthday !!! 🎉🎁🎊🎧📻📚

from gabriel urbina’s now-deleted blog, in response to someone asking how messy eiffel’s personal workspace is:
It’s actually not that messy, largely due to the fact that, since there’s no gravity on the Hephaestus, if he just kept his workspace totally cluttered and messy eventually things would just start floating into his face. There’s definitely been mentions of him just leaving stuff floating at random places in the station - and I’m sure there’s a few weird knick-knacks taped down on his desk just ‘cause - but I think that necessity has forced him to be a more organized person. Relatively speaking.
... then again, thinking about it, there’s probably a drawer somewhere in the Comms Room where he just sticks whatever he doesn’t need and doesn’t want to put back in its proper place. And by now it’s gotten so full that he has to open and close it really quickly because otherwise there would just be this cloud of junk that would come out and spread all over the room. So really it’s the drawer of no return by this point. And one time, Minkowski asked him for a notepad she’d lent him and he was like, “Sorry Commander, it’s in the black hole drawer,” and she was just like
(my screenshot cuts off here. it was a facepalm gif.)

this is so random and not particularly in response to anything but can i just say. alana maxwell didn't "betray hera by treating her like a person and then doing something uniquely horrible / manipulating her or harming her because she's an AI" etc. maxwell didn't pretend to respect AI. she does respect AI in the same way she respects people. it's not uniquely horrible, not if you're looking at maxwell in the same way you look at the SI-5 in general: like bad people.
maxwell treats hera like she treats people: disposable. she truly acknowledges hera's personhood in the moral and ethical sense, with respect to her sentience. and then she does to hera exactly the same thing she would have done to her if hera was a human: she manipulates her flaws and exploits her. FLAWS not being anxiety, as in "maxwell pretended to care about hera's anxiety and exploited that;" flaws being weaknesses and faults that naturally come with being an AI, with being in a state that's adjustable by code. because at the end of the day, it's her job over her friends. by "betraying" hera, she still treats her equally— exactly as 'morally wrong' as she treats everyone else's personhood.
