“I HAVE BEEN FALLING… FOR THIRTY MINUTES!”

luka’s eyebrow raises at the first statement, unsure of what to expect.  it wasn’t exactly that often that people more or less apologized for interrupting their work.  the other eyebrow raises upon seeing the flowers.  “a secret admirer?  well, that’s...” they trail off momentarily as they take the flowers.  “there’s no chance you could even give me a hint about who these are from?”

there was a dimpled smile on hazel’s face as she as she approached the other, a small bouquet of flowers behind her back. “i don’t mean to intrude on your personal time, but..” she trailed off, revealing the arrangement of beautiful flowers. “it seems as though you have a secret admirer !!” 

there’s a few seconds of hesitation as they consider the request.  on the one hand, luka didn’t come here to socialize with anybody and everybody.  but on the other hand, what could it possibly hurt.  “okay.  fine,” they wave a hand, motioning for her to continue, “what do you need from me?”

veronica was beyond ready for her after work drink. however, before she could enjoy her regular order of a vodka redbull, she had a matter to settle first. she walked up to the first person she saw and flashed a smile. “ look, i know you don’t know me but i’m trying to win a bet from this douchebag i work with. i just need a minute or two of your time if you don’t mind? “

“what – ?” evan starts before cutting herself off, having glanced over and seen the fire.  her eyes widen, and she quickly jumps away before giving the other girl an angry glare.  “the fuck was that for?!”  and to think she’d been planning on having a nice, quiet beach visit for once.

okay, so out of all the people in the world who could be trusted to be around flammable objects, maybe summer wasn’t very high on the list. in fact, judging by the way that she had just accidentally set someone’s beach towel on fire by being a little too careless with her sparkler—she probably wasn’t on it at all. summer’s eyes widened as she realized what she had done, quickly jumping back. “H - HEY !” summer called out, urgently trying to get the owner’s attention. “i think i’d get up if i were you !” 

evan’s on her way home from work, feet tired and sore from having to stand and serve drinks for so long.  she sits down on the ground, letting out a soft groan.  just a few minutes of rest, that’s all, then she’ll be back on her way home.  home, where she can curl up into a ball on her bed and sleep.  but of course, she’s chosen to sit near someone that wants to have a conversation.  “... they might be listening, but i don’t think they care.”

High Lord of the Night Court reduced to false memories and lack of wings. Alistair wondered if it would have been better if he hadn’t learned the truth. No, it was probably worse to be unaware than irritated. At least now he could work on a solution to whatever had happened. 

He stared at the night sky, communicating with the stars in his mind. It might be strange to some, but it brought him a sense of comfort. He only turned his attention elsewhere when someone sat nearby. “Do you ever think the stars are listening?” It wasn’t any different from making a wish and hoping it would come true. 

luka wasn’t normally one for walking down this street.  there were too many distractions, such as the warm smell of baking pastries.  but he also isn’t exactly one to shy away from indulgences like a fresh baked pie.  and he has more than enough time before he has to be at his own shop.  after entering the store, he makes a beeline for the display case, and gives back a short greeting of, “good morning,” before looking at what’s for sale.  “if it isn’t too much trouble, i wouldn’t mind hearing about the specials.”

blueberries; miranda woke up this morning from an unusually vivid dream. she was dreaming about walking through the forest picking all kinds of berries, but the ones she has been picking the most were blueberries. it made her crave desserts with blueberry flavors, and that is how she decided today’s special at miranda’s patisserie. next to the display cases and the cash register, was her work bench ––- where she makes the pastries so that other people can see what she was doing.

she laid the pie crust gently on top of the dish and then started filling it with blueberries when the door bell dinged, signaling a person’s entry into her pastry shop. “hello!” she greeted, her hands still carefully crafting her pie. “sorry, my cashier took a day off today, so i’m juggling between making the pie and handling the register,” she apologized for not approaching the customer at the display. “would you like to know today’s specials?”

lina jumps back in surprise at the words, not having been paying attention to where she was going whatsoever.  usually she wasn’t so absentminded, but the lack of sleep she’s been getting would do it to anyone.  “oh! i’m sorry,” she says, looking down to the other.  “but don’t you think doing this right where everyone’s walking is just calling for trouble?”  a pause, a beat of silence, as she looks closer at the piece.  “you’re a really good artist.”

“NUH UH-UH !!” persephone scolded, frantically shaking her fingers as the unexpected person got dangerously close to stepping on her art piece. she and her supplies were sprawled out on the sidewalk in front of the store she worked at, where she had been drawing up something special for a big sale they were having. “if you fuck this up before i can even finish it, i’m going to roll out into traffic..” honey warned, glancing up, covered in as pastel chalk dust. “for zero dollars, you can save a life today.”

nico’s stopped dead in his tracks at the words - or, maybe, it would be more apt to say the tone they were spoken in stopped him.  “happy birthday!” he offers to her, not a hint of falsehood to the joy in his words.  “though it doesn’t sound like you’re having that happy of a day.  what’s wrong?  i’ve been told i’m a pretty good listener.”

it had been a long day. she had three different clients in the span of twenty-four hours, and she couldn’t afford to turn them down - even if it was her birthday. so, she had spent the past twenty hours searching and searching. finally, she had acquired two of the three. most criminals were relatively easy to find as they didn’t cover their tracks as well as they thought. however, this third was proving difficult. decided to pause for a small celebration, she sat on a park bench with a cupcake. “happy birthday to me, “ she said with cynicism.

ELLIE

born in 2018 or 2019, after the outbreak of the cordyceps brain infection (cbi), a zombie-like pandemic, in 2013.  was bitten when she was 14, but turned out to be immune.  possibly being the only immune person and therefore the only way to find a cure/vaccination, she was sent to the fireflies.  it turned out the only way to get the mutated cordyceps would also kill her.  this isn't taken well by joel, who's something of a father to ellie, and the two end up fleeing from the hospital and return to joel's brother's settlement.  (if you want to know more, here’s her wiki page.)

EVELINA PARK

born in port vista, lina was raised by her father after her mother died giving birth to her.  her father did his best to raise her on his own, but he was mostly unable to hold a steady job, and they barely scraped by.  she didn’t get amazing grades in high school, only really wanting to be able to graduate and actually get into the local college.  however, the fall after she graduated high school / started college, her father unexpectedly had a heart attack and died.  lina dropped out of college, being unable to keep up with classes as well as support herself.  currently works as a bartender at the library.

EXTRA

seeing it's not actually out yet, i have her set just before tlou2.  obviously, once part two comes out and i finish it, i'll update her, but that won't be for a while yet.  otherwise, if/when her memories come back, she'll remember up through being taken by david.

suffers from monophobia, the fear of being alone.  lina isn’t nearly as rash/rude/vulgar as ellie is.

comes from a rich family.  new money.  attended aglionby academy, a private school in henrietta, virginia.  ended up being murdered by his best friend at the age of seventeen.  came back as a ghost, and about seven years later, he wound up becoming friends with gansey and co., and went on an adventure to find glendower.  (if you want to know more, here’s his wiki page.)

NICHOLAS GOULD

nico was born and raised in port vista, to a middle class family.  he has one older sister, who he's rather close to.  he has a few aspirations to move away from port vista, but it's less of a desire to get away and moreso to just see more of the world - port vista is his home, and he wouldn't want to stay away for too long.  as it is, he's currently attending the local college and plans to major in art history.

nico mostly acts like i imagine noah did, when he was alive; energetic, happy, hyper, and just full of life.

if/when he gets his memories back, he'll remember everything up through dying.  he won't remember any of the gangsey as he met them all after dying.  nico still has the same aversion to violence as noah does, and will try and avoid it all costs.

frost giant.  son of the king of jotunheim, laufey.  adopted as a baby by odin, king of asgard.  raised alongside odin’s son, thor, and without knowing his true heritage.  the god of mischief.  most recently died at the hands of thanos.  (if you want to know more, here’s his wiki page.)

LUKA OAKES

luka is the only child of a single mother, nadia oakes.  his parents weren’t married, and his father left them shortly after luka was born.  nadia came from a well-off family, and the two weren’t left wanting for anything.  however, when luka was nine, nadia was killed in a car accident, and, after luka’s father was unable to be found and none of the other relatives were willing to take luka in, he was placed in the foster system.  luka got bounced from house to house, family to family, until, at the age of fifteen, he wound up with a family in port vista.  he stayed with the family until he turned eighteen, at which point he’d already gotten attached to the town and decided to stay.  using the money he’d inherited from nadia, he bought a vacant building and turned it into the bookstore he now runs.

EXTRA

set 75% in the mcu, but there’s a few things (gender, sexuality, certain interests, etc.) that are influenced by the comics and norse myths.  the actual canon history is completely and wholly what happened in the mcu, and if/when his memories return, he will remember everything, up through dying in infinity war.

luka occasionally has dreams / nightmares, that he can scarcely remember any details of later, of his actual past.  for the most part he just chalks it up to an overactive imagination.

his gender is... it fluctuates between male and agender, so pronouns will occasionally flip to they/them rather than he/him.
