the way andrew takes pristine care of everything that belongs to him, including all of his responsibilities eg. the people under his care, is truly admirable. it’s hard not to love him. he probably also suffers from a mild case of OCD. funny thing is that, while andrew is all about order, neil is anything but. andrew's need for order and control possibly stems from a desire to protect himself and others, while neil's disregard for order reflects on his pursuit of freedom and a rejection of the oppressive forces (his parents) that have shaped his existence. they are polar opposites of each other in some instances and thats perfect.

andrew : hi, i’m neil’s emergency contact.

counter woman : you’re here to pick him up?

andrew : i'm here to remove myself as his emergency contact.

neil : *gasps* you wouldn’t

andrew : test me

i love that we as a fandom are in agreement that andrew minyard is the mother hen of the monsters cult. it’s so on brand for him.

out of curiosity, what’s your opinion on andrew minyard having kit connor’s physique? he has a sturdy frame with a generous breadth in his shoulders, accentuating his muscular build. the gentle undercurrent of softness even highlights andrew’s fondness for ice cream??—this is HIM.

obviously forget the fact that he is british and he is literally the human personification of the sun for one sec, but also think about it. kit has the perfect andrew minyard physique, also he’s blond(yes i’m aware many claim him to be ginger). the only point against this is his height.🤷🏻‍♀️

aftg stans are braver than the marines for even getting through the books but amongst them are a large number of andreil stans who are weak as fuck because all we have to hear is "thank you, you were amazing" and start crying.

ok instead of saying “that doesnt mean i wouldnt blow you” imagine if andrew wears this as a confession to neil and the intention completely flies over neil’s head as usual

neil’s complex kiss analysis

can we talk about neil’s first kiss for a hot minute?

ok so here’s the thing. yes, we can all agree neil is a questionable narrator but consider the way he describes his first kiss with andrew: "andrew kissed him like this was a fight with their lives on the line, like his world stopped and started with neil's mouth." it’s an intense portrayal of a kiss that goes beyond mere romance. but have you ever thought about the deeper meaning behind neil's words? for someone who has never even fathomed kissing anyone, why would he describe it so intensely?

think about it, neil's life has indeed been filled with survival instincts and a constant need to stay on guard due to his troubled past. when andrew kisses him, it's likely a powerful and overwhelming experience for neil, as he might subconsciously associate it with the intensity of survival mode.

neil's life has been shaped by danger, abuse, and evading deadly threats from a young age. surviving has been his primary skill, and his instincts are always on high alert, just like in a fight for his life. so, when andrew kissed him, it's only natural for neil to draw a comparison because our boy was caught off guard. so, andrew's passion and intensity may have reminded neil of the survival mode he's been living in for so long, hence the tilt and sudden shift of the world beneath him that he experiences post kiss.

in this light, andrew's kiss becomes more than just a romantic gesture. it represents a moment of vulnerability for neil. throughout his life, he's learned to shield himself emotionally, keeping his guard up to protect against any harm that might come his way. but andrew's kiss breaks through those barriers, leaving neil exposed and defenseless, much like the vulnerability he experiences when forced into his aliases to stay alive.

andrew plays a significant role in neil's journey towards growth and healing. the trust and connection they share gradually guide neil away from a life solely centered on survival and toward a path of understanding and acceptance. andrew's passion contrasts neil's survival instincts, showing him that life is about more than just making it through the day.

(ps. i personally think that the way he describes every single interaction with andrew is just so beautiful.)
