Shimmer’s head pounded in her skull as she sat alone at the bar near the outskirts of the city she was in. She hadn’t bothered to learn the name of it because she knew she probably wouldn’t be staying much longer then a couple of days, unless something interesting came up, but even then, that was rare for her.

She took a swig of her drink, and sighed as she felt the Jack burn her throat. It was a good burn, and she always enjoyed it. She heard the jingle of the door chime open as the song on the jukebox changed. She didn’t bother looking to see who walked in. Didn’t matter at this point. She was the only one at in bar minus the bartender, so a little company might be welcome.

     Dominator had hoped to make some kind of spectical of the scene, but as she walks in.. there’s just about no one around. You can’t start a bar fight with one other person and the bartender! There was no fun in that. Yet at the same time, she didn’t feel like going through the trouble of finding another bar. So, may as well make whatever time she was going to spend here count.

     She didn’t care about the other person at the counter. In fact, she made sure she was at least a bar stool away. Them thinking she was here to make friends or something was the last thing Dominator wanted.

     “H-How?!  Th-That’s my strongest attack!”  Black Star cried out in shock.  Nothing had even taken her energy blast like that before.  Not even strong Quartz gems!  Oh dear, it seems like the runt would be outmatched if her energy attack would do little to Dominator’s armor.  Well, now there was only one option.. run.  But her feet couldn’t move, so the little gem just shivered in fear.

     Dominator’s visor to her helmet retracts as she scoffs, looming over the other. “THAT’s your strongest attack? Wow, I almost feel SORRY for you..But, I’ll give you a TEN second head start.”

This Friday (Sept. 21st 2018) Is the start of my comic A Light In the Dark and it’s a story I’ve had in my head since I was a kid so this is exciting but also legit terrifying to do. After probably 1,000+ revisions (bc as any 10 yr old thinks of stories, it was a m e s s) i’m finally kicking my butt in gear to just TELL the story.

Thanks to Adult Land ™ I’m behind on where I wanted to be in drawing the pages, so updates are going to be monthly until I’m back on track so I don’t blow through my queue too quickly.

     “D-Don’t laugh at me!”  Yelled Black Star, who continued to grit her teeth.  Clearly, she was getting to a boiling point.  “Give me five minutes.. and oyu’ll see!”  The runt Diopside shouted, unclenching her left hand.  As soon as the palm was exposed, a while ball of light formed, slowly growing bigger and bigger.. uh oh, Dominator might want to move out of the way.

     "Oh I'm sorry, did I hurt your feelings?" Dominator watched the gem grow angrier with a smirk. She looks at the gem on their hand, not very intimidated by the glow coming from it and growing. When Black Star does let that blast fly towards Dominator, she just activates her armor, blocking it with her gloves.

     Dominator held back her laughter just up until the gem finished. When she did, the villain couldn't help but bust into a manacial laugh. "Y-YOU, make ME sorry?? HAHA !!" She wipes an imaginary tear as her laughter settles, "Ohh you're FUNNY." She steps forward, towering over the gem, “I’d LOVE to see you try, though.”
