Numb (Dawn of Solace)
I cannot feel the warmth of the flame
That flickers deep within
I cannot see the ashes fall
Grey dust on my skin
I cannot breathe
Air is too thick
With failures on my way
I cannot hear
The storm inside
The thunder that used to break the skies
The soil beneath my feet
Trembles and moves around me
And the sky is set alight
The world is in flames
Let the fires rise
I cannot feed the dying blaze
Ignite the spark again
I cannot heal or know how to repair
Broken bones or seize the pain
I cannot bleed
The blood in me
Turned cold and flows no more
I cannot keep
My word when I swore
That the dakrness won't take me down

working on Welcome Home again, and realizing that it sounds wrong because the same riff in the intro is supposed to be repeated with the same notes twice, but with a different artificial harmonic on the last note each time. prog was a mistake

And Then Suddenly It's A Metal Song
Songs which begin with one style of music and then somewhere, suddenly, switch into metal or a metal-influenced style. Some break in the first 10% of the song, some wait until the last 10%. Some have little more than a sudden drop into a harder chorus, and some transform into entirely different songs. Casting a wide net here, as always. Front-loaded some fan favorites to the start. Very NSFW
Most of the Spotify samples here are spoilers: these songs are meant to be enjoyed from the start!
Featuring: As Artifacts, August Burns Red, Bad Omens, Blood Incantation, Cardeairé Latrelle, Code Orange, Electric Callboy, Emma Ruth Rundle, Every Time I Die, Extortionist, FEVER 333, Fousheé, Grim Salvo, Hollow, HVDES, iamjakehill, Igorrr, I See Stars, Jinjer, King Yosef, Knocked Loose, Lamb of God, Mitski, nothing, nowhere., Oceans of Slumber, Otep, Phinehas, Phoebe Bridgers, Poppy, PRXJEK, Mitski, Rolo Tomassi, Siamese, Silent Planet, Sleep Token, Spectral Lore, Spiritbox, Stars, Thou, Underdark, VEXED, Wednesday, WHOKILLEDXIX, Wilderun, Zeal & Ardor, 1 800 PAIN, and 100 gecs

sometimes i get this feeling that i'm just learning more songs, but i'm not actually getting better at the guitar. it's not true though, i'm back on my Iron Man bullshit and i'd say i'm playing it better than i used to, even after i'd spend ~8 months practicing it.
