selling electricity in Europe
selling electricity in Europe
heya,
So i've been looking into solar farms, and i might be interested in starting a small one this year. But where do you sell your energy that you have generated?
I live in the Netherlands.
Thanks!

Solar Supports
Solar Supports
I'm looking at installing a solar system at our off grid cabin this spring and I'm trying to come up with a good way to get the panels up high enough to catch decent sunlight. The roof of the cabin is not an option as there are some trees blocking it but I do have a shed that I figure I'd be able to brace the supports to, I can't use the shed roof either as it's facing the wrong direction. A couple neighbors have systems which they've put on poles that go up sort of like a street lamp or flagpole style support which is an option but I thought maybe either a frame like a scaffold kind of thing secured to the back of the shed might be a more sturdy option. What have you guys used to elevate your panels on a standalone frame, or have you seen any companies that sell good kits? I'm in BC in Canada as well. Thanks for reading.

Solar Powered Fitted For Radio Car
Solar Powered Fitted For Radio Car
Hello All,
I recently wanted to fit a VHF radio to my car, however the car I have is a small city car with a tiny battery. I did not want to risk killing the car battery should I be sitting portable for any length of time. So I had the idea to use an old car battery and put a solar panel connected to charge controller & fuse box mounted in the boot to run the radios from. I made a video of it if anyone wants to see the link is here.
For everyone else here are some photos

Let’s get this straight
Let’s get this straight
I’ve been an installer in California and now in West Virginia. I’ve usually just used my eyeballs to keep an array straight. Now I’m installing larger systems. What’s some different ways y’all have used to get that bottom row straight? cuz u can’t always go off the edges of the roof..

Can someone help me with math?
Can someone help me with math?
I feel dumb that I can't figure this out because I'm normally pretty good with math. But I suppose it's not the actual math I'm having a problem with, it's figuring out the right equation to use. I'm making a spreadsheet to compare several systems and trying to figure out the 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 year savings and right now for the system I'm thinking about, my formula puts me at +$85,712 in 30 years. Maybe that's correct... but it doesn't feel like it. Especially because the same formula puts the number at +$35,235 at 20 years, which seems more correct to me, but I can't figure out what's going wrong.
So here are my numbers.
Production: The .995 is a 0.5% decrease in efficiency each year.
11213 kWh * .995^30 * 30 = 289,425 kWh
Consumption: This is based on my current average year kWh comsumption
10236 kWh * 30 = 307,080 kWh
Difference: Production - Consumption
289,425 - 307,080 = -17,655 kWh
Savings: The .1235 is my current effective monthly charge per kWh. The 1.035 accounts for a yearly 3.5% increase in energy cost.
(202868)(.1235)(1.035)^30 = $100,326
Subtract out paying for the difference
$100,326 - (17,655)(.1235)(1.035)^30 = $94,214
Subtract out the cost of the system
$94,214 - $14,622 = $79,592
I don't see what's wrong with doing the math this way, but everything I've read online says I should be at about half this at 30 years.
EDIT: I just realized that I get a different number than my spreadsheet when I manually calculate it using the exact same formula. I don't get it. I came up with $79,592 but my spreadsheet says $85,712.
