Ough, I love so much when people interpret/draw Per'kele with his guts out. Man literally going around with his organs on show with just the peritoneum working overtime to keep them in place, just trusting that he got the strongest mesentery in town to keep his small intestine from pulling off a ratkin look- *chef kiss* Majestic.)

DAY 29 - Side eye

Was drawing something else but then I thought about how he could technically do the dogs' side eye thing, if he let his pupils dilate enough, and had to doodle that instead.

(I'm once again thinking too much about Per'kele's torso and wings-

Especially because, as much as I love it, why is he bird-like? His base design is based off an illustration of the Devil/Lucifer from the Grand Grimoire and that checks out with the name and his "betrayal" towards the Moon God (literally a Celestial Deity). Even the jester motive fits because of having to pass as a servant of the "Trickster" God- and if not that there is the "Jester Privilige" that ironically makes the Jester the most free individual in a king's court- which fits him and the whole theme of "earn you freedom" imo.

But why the bird? More ties to Lucifer and fallen angels? The "birds of the air" from the bible which were seen as demons or as a negative symbol in general?

Even saying that it's because of Rher and His need to have servants themed after animals isn't enough of an explanation since he could've been anything else (I mean He already has a cat, a jellyfish, a cockroach- He surely doesn't have a limited choice pool). But no, he has that bird theme-

It's even more interesting that his wings are revealed alogside his exposed bloody ribcage- it'd make more sense for them to be two separated reveals (if we read them as "the marks of Sulfur and Rher" which I personally do) but instead you see both of them at the same moment, making me think they must be read together-

Where am I going with this rambling? Well- I may often call him "Chicken" when clowning on him but I also call him something else when I decide to take him seriously: "Pettirosso" ("Robin" in english buuut- for this one the italian word works best due to its direct meaning: "Petti = petto = chest" + "Rosso = red" = "Red Chest").

There is a christian story about how the Pettirosso got its name: when Christ was dying on the cross a bird flew up to him, either to soothe his pain by singing or to try and move away the thorns of his crown. Either way the bird ends up getting punctured in the chest / a drop of blood falls on its chest, forever staining it red.

A very popular theory is that the Sulfur god is a discarded part of Alll-Mer, who is heavily inspired by Christ- so Alll-Mer could be seen as the spiritual part of Christ, the one that reached godhood, while Sulfur is His corpse or carnal part, the one He left behind.

Putting those two things together I can't help but picture it-

Per'kele being the "bird" that approached Sulfur's forgotten remains- and offered the flesh off his chest to Him, forever staining himself in red.

We don't know if Per'kele was the one to start the cult but- ehh just let me be delusional with the religious imagery.

...yeah the fixation is going great. I love overanalyzing the most miniscule and useless details, thank you for noticing :>)

Day 7 - Torso (Part 2)

My second theory is that the more one dies and comes back from the Sulfur Pits the more certain parts of their body rots or falls apart due to the freezing and burning. I wouldn't be surprised if Per'kele died and came back a LOT of times- or that he stayed in the Pits for way longer than the other cultists.

That or each member could be contribuiting to re-building the Sulfur God's body by sacrificing entire parts of themselves- Per'kele having given his torso (we know that one), Stitches her head (note the stitches), Needles his face (weird flesh mask) and the Janitor his back (Blood Eagle like contraption). Those parts are then given more form and meat by their sacrifices (thinking of that especially because of Stitches and her habit of stitching together various people- which would explain Sulfur's voluminous head.)

Day 6 - Torso (part 1)

Going to divide this headcanon in two since 1- felt fitting for the weekend; 2- I still haven't decided which theory I like most,,

I'm torn about how Per'kele got his exposed muscles- a theory I have is that it could be part of a botched moonscorch from the time he first won the Festival of Termina (thought of it when someone suggested that moonscorching could be slowly happening during the three final days or as the subject slowly loses their mind instead that all at once during the last day or at the end of their mental rope- forgot who exactly talked about it, damn it.)

Alongside his jester motive it could've been about a desire for a twisted freedom (jester's privilige- do and say whatever one wants without punishment as you don't matter)- be it from who he was before the Festival or from the Festival itself- could've also been him finding his own freedom in the bloodshed.

I imagine the last step of his transformation would've been for his ribs to detach from the sternum and open outward into a sort of reverse Blood Eagle, whilst his organs or torn muscles could've went to form a twisted pair of wings sprouting from his insides (think of the Pilgrim Butterflies from Dark Souls 3).

He would've technically had two pairs of wings- THE symbol of freedom - yet both would've been non-functional if not full-on hindering. So it'd be Per'kele just kneeling on the floor with his back arched backwards and his "wings" stretched out against the moonlight.

An empty promise of freedom granted through blood and gore yet instead forced to always look up towards the Moon, towards Rher, as payment towards the god for having granted a fool's wish.

Day 5 - Dancing

Since he has jester characteristics it is a must for me to imagine Per'kele dancing in some way or another- and let's be real, aside from preening/sharpening his feathers and practice throwing meteorites I don't think he has much else to do up there.

Pretty sure he dances as if he is going through a possession, the whole closed or wide open eyes and seemengly random/snappy movements deal, think interpretative dancing but following the mess going on inside his head- yeah. He has more elegant and "calm" moments but before you know it he is just walking like a spider or contorting in some other way. He just vibing.. aggressively.

Either that or he just looks like he has acute tarantism and just breaks it down with some sort of Tarantella.

Day 4 - Feathers' feel

Even when his feathers are detached in an attack, torn or shed there is a period of time in which Per'kele can still feel through them- primary feathers' feel lasts longer than secondary ones.

For example, when he launches them at the contestants, even if they're no longer attached to his body, he can still feel the feathers slash through the skin of the adversary. If they were to ricochet against him it'd feel like stabbing oneself with your own fingers, feeling both the cut and the cutting at the same time.

Stepping or breaking a shed feather that still has feel would be like stepping on his arm or plucking it from the skin.

Day 3 - Heels

Alright, a silly one for today since it was a long day- Per'kele would be atrocious in high heels. I picture that if he tried to wear more than flats with literally 2 or 5 millimeters of heel he'd fall flat on his face at the first step taken.

The funnier part is that I believe he'd be able to even stand en-pointe barefeet but the moment shoes and heels are involved he is done for lol.

Day 2 - blood frenzy

To add to my "Per'kele is a chicken" propaganda- one of the reasons he remains atop the Tower in the dream zone is that the sight of blood drives him into a real strong frenzy (be it innate, and that's the reason he won his first festival, or a trait he got by abandoning Rher or worshipping the Sulfur God, either Rher went trickster mode and cursed him to be unable to control the call of his desire or Sulfur's influence simply heightens the violent tendencies and needs of his cultists to have more sacrifices thanks to their excess. Still haven't decided on a precise one since I like all possibilities,,). This is more than welcome on "normal" occasions but during a killing festival in which he must allow the contestants the time to develop and demonstrate their own blood-thirst.. not so much.

So if he was to risk leaving the Tower or the dream altogether he'd wear the human version of those red-lensed glasses chickens were made to wear to avoid violent pecking and cannibalism at the sight of blood.

I also like to think that that's also why whenever the contestants come to the Tower to save and stuff he keeps such a distance from them and never steps closer until the moment of the duel. My guy is trying so hard to not notice the blood they're more than definetly drenched with lmao.

Oh- this makes me wish for a mechanic in which he either ups his damage or gets a boost in speed the moment he manages to inflict bleed on the contestant. <- *says that solely for the fact they don't play Termina and wishes Per'kele had more bastard gimmicks <3*

Headcanon Week

Day 1 - feathers and molting

To fit all of his feathers into his sleeves, Per'kele's able to keep them at the "blood feather" and "pin feather" stage for as long as he wishes- a dormant state if you will.

He allows them to sprout from their wax coating during fights or simply to flaunt them (not based on any irl logic but- I like to think the longer he keeps them encased the sturdier and sharper they get, which would mean that in-game he would've been carefully preparing and saving them for the final duel atop the tower).

When they are no longer of use or they're getting in his way, he sheds them in a molt that lasts a few days, a week at worst. During that period, even though pain is not exactly a problem for him, his arms are left numb by the shedding and growing of new feathers, thus leaving him technically unarmed (ah). "Technically" since he only grows more aggressive and will cast Black-orb and Hurting at anything that moves without many cerimonies (just like when he loses both arms during his boss fight).

And then the cycle repeats.
