School is less that one week away and I cannot believe my first baby is entering the 7th grade! Time really is a thief! But I cannot tell you how fun it has been to see Evan slowly change from our sweet somewhat timid little boy into an incredibly responsible outgoing young man. So many changes happening for him these days both physical and internal and it feels like those changes are making our bond even stronger. He comes to me for absolutely everything and I hope that throughout the course of this new school year that doesn’t change❤️ Now let’s see how much longer till he starts towering over me😅 .. I’ve been a mom for almost 13 years. The first four were SO DIFFICULT! Dealing with postpartum depression, new house, new life and a second baby on the way...life was hard. I often thought of myself as unfit. I had lost my self identity. Didn’t know if I was “mom”, 24 year old Lilly, Erick’s wife, etc. I was a child raising a child. Everything from that time feels like a bad blur. 😕 Fast forward 8 years and I have grown into what I consider to be a GREAT mom...NOT PERFECT, but GREAT! God restored my health and reminded me that I am who He says I am. I am strong 💪🏼 I am able, I am intelligent, I am all the things I want to be. Must most importantly I am MOM. He did after all think I was fit enough to raise two of his beloved little children. And let me tell you, he truly did lend me some of his best! These boys of mine are wonderful children and everyday I thank the Lord for allowing me to be their mama❤️ . Today I encourage YOU to keep pushing. If you’re in a season of blur, like I was, know that there’s a light at the end of that foggy tunnel. Motherhood is dang hard, but it’s also the best thing in the world. Keep pushing mama.
