Hey there, I am unsure if someone will reply to this but I'm giving it a shot. I recently found this blog (17.09.2023) as I was searching once more for any signs where I may read the side story manga of Female Magician, thought someone that's a big fan of this series as well would know where I may read it. Big thanks in advance if you know where I can find it and read it, thank you.
Unfortunately, only a few chapters were fan-translated before it got dropped, so I don't think there's a way to read it completely translated. The Japanese version should be available on Japanese e-book sites like BookWalker, I imagine. (Although I have never checked since I can't read Japanese.)

Every time I reread Maoyu, I always notice how nice and nonexistent the romantic drama is. It also has an official OT3 end, which is relatively rare in the “X girl wins” narrative that dominates market. Seriously, we need more stories that handle their romantic aspects like Maoyu does.

While scrolling through Mamare’s twitter, I chanced upon a sketch of the Demon King by Hara Kazuhiro (Log Horizon’s LN illustrator)! It seems like he drew this around March 2012.
(Since he’s technically not an illustrator for any Maoyu media... Does this count as fan art?)

A few months late, but some good news for Maoyu fans! The fan translation for the light novels will be continued in the near future(TM), which is better than supposed-to-be-continued-but-has-had-radio-silence-for-two-years! (Which would be Yen Press’ license for the Maoyu manga after the first translation company dropped it with 2 volumes to go.)

One thing I really appreciated in Maoyu was how religion wasn’t portrayed as a hard “good” or hard “evil” like it tends to boil down to in many fictional works.
The Church is a source of both good and evil in Maoyu, with the Southern Kingdoms’ Lakeside Convent eventually splitting from the Central Kingdoms’ Church over theological differences. (Female Knight is a prioress of the Lakeside Convent that prioritizes spreading supplies and education throughout the Southern Kingdoms, hence her angry reaction above when she hears the Central Church declare the Crimson Scholar a heretic for bringing crops like the potato, and innovations like fertilizer.)
Even then, those who continue to stand by the Central Church have their own motivations, and not because they’re pure evil. The Royal Prince Marshal refuses an offer by Younger Sister Maid to join the Lakeside Convent because he stood for maintaining order in the Central Kingdoms, and suddenly switching sides would bring disorder and public unrest in his otherwise-stable kingdom.

I’ve been too busy to make regular content for this blog, but BookWalker has around 2 hours left on its huge Coin Back sale for almost all its English books, including the 16 translated volumes of Akira Ishida’s Maoyu manga.
Coins are basically rewards for constantly buying manga from BookWalker, and each coin is equal to 1 JPY. For each Maoyu volume you buy, it’s around $5.58 (600 JPY) and with the Coin Back sale, you’ll get 120 Coins per book as opposed to the usual 6.
This is a hella late notice, but for anyone interested in the books, this is a great time to get them.
