Since this is early in the game, I figured it would be safe to post as it is my favorite picture of our King I have taken yet. His eyes are smiling. It's the most heartwarming thing. Major spoilers regarding thoughts of the game thus far under here.
Exactly half way in the game (chapter 8 at the Gold Saucer) and there's a whirlwind of emotions I have went through. After relearning Barret's story, among other things, Shinra is the lowest of the low. Sure, Sephiroth is a threat, but I don't think getting rid of Sephiroth is going to fix a lot. It might delay the demise of the planet...but as long as Shinra is around no matter how many Sephiroths and/or Jenovas are defeated, Shinra will always find a way to take advantage and destroy everything. In chapter 7, the first Weapon appeared in Mt. Coral and Red stated the sighting of such creature means the planet is in grave danger. Of course Shinra knows about this and they just want the materia from the Weapon. They don't care about the fact this is an omen. Hell, Hojo (the piece of shit he is) wants the carcass! Therefore, if Sephiroth must go, then everything Shinra must go as well. Anyway aside from that, seeing Cloud and Aerith fighting the Valkyrie machine in one scene and seeing the same exact two characters unconscious (?) in another back to back is trippy. Sephiroth, what on earth are you doing???
P.S. Was Glenn shot in front of Sephiroth?

Spoilers incoming.
The demo left me shook. The depth it went into Sephiroth's downfall took my breath away. Prior to that, exploring Nibelheim and hearing the people praising Sephiroth and chatting his name made the burning that much more painful. That poor Major certainly lost his head that day. No matter who was in control, Sephiroth, Jenova, both, it was an absolute tragedy...just like Sephiroth's life.

悲しむこ= kanashimu = To be sad; to mourn for; to regret
こと= Used after a verb, it turns the verb into a noun.
は = particle
ない = nonexistent; not being (there)
星に帰るだけだ
星 = Hoshi = Star, planet
に = directional particle
帰る = to return; to come home; to go home; to go back
だけ = only; just; as much as
だ = is the casual form of です. However there some nuisances and one of them is statements ending in だ are used to express one's inner state-in this case Sephiroth's inner state.
Hypothetical translation; There is no mourning. (I am) only to return to the planet

星 = Hoshi = Star, planet
が = Particle
死の = To die in volitional form
うとしている = Trying to; Attempting to;
The planet is trying to die.
悲鳴もあげず、静かに、ゆっくりと
悲鳴 = himei = Shriek, scream
も = Also
あげず = to raise, to elevate = ageru verb with a zu ending used to negate a verb and imply the action or state is ongoing.
静か = Shizuka = quiet, silent
に = particle
ゆっくり = slowly; unhurriedly; without haste
と = This sentence ending is used to show vagueness in speech. It's an incomplete thought that either the reader or listener is meant to infer their own conclusions.
Hypothetical translation; The Planet is trying to die. It is also shrieking, quietly, slowly...
