New teapot alert!
Tumblr media
For my birthday I went pottery painting, and I just got the teapot I painted back after being glazed and fired. I love it dearly! It's a 2 cup teapot, which is the only way I justified it, as the rest of my collection are 1 cup, 3 cup or 4 cup.
As I now have 6 teapots, I probably need to stop...
Cuppa: first picking Kukicha (an unusual Japanese green tea, made from the twigs rather than the leaves) with Mallorcan orange blossom honey.

Sunday afternoon
Tumblr media
Cuppa: hot chocolate
View: boating pond, Queen's Park, Glasgow
This afternoon we had a wee picnic to ourselves, in the company of quite a lot of Glasgow. It was a fresh Spring day and everyone wanted to be in the park.

Glasgow looks smashing on a sunny Spring day. Did you know "smashing" comes from the Scots Gaelic "is math sin" (pronounced like "sma-shin")? A lot of Scottish terms come from the Gaelic. Glasgow has the largest population of Gaelic native speakers outwith the Highlands and Islands, and we say "smashing" a lot here. Related? Who knows?
We came into town to go to the Park Lane Market, one of a number of small craft markets that happen in Glasgow's streets, parks, and in this case, funny wee lanes.

Finished off a pleasant afternoon with an iced watermelon green tea and a vegan cinnamon roll at Hugs & Mugs. This is very much a vegan cinnamon roll type of area.

Glasgow's had a very rough few years for various reasons, but the city's still bonny. The Dear Green Place, just coming into its greenest season.

Golden Enys Dodman Arch.  I sat on top of the cliffs watching the crowds in the distance watching the sunset from the Land’s End hotel, whilst I had this view all to myself as the golden light lit up the ocean right through the stone arch.

So I found out some find it weird for you to heat the water for your tea in the microwave, which is how I did it when I started
In my defense, I first started while I was living somewhere that had no room for a stove and was too poor to move, and too dangerous to just leave water out in the sun (Bad neighborhood)
So like...what else was I supposed to do? Not drink tea? Outrageous!

i love this blog and these dusky forest pictures. I've walked in forests like this, and felt the ancient past whispering to me through the trees.

life is so good when you enjoy rain and snow and sunshine and starlight and wind and mornings and twilights and spring and autumn. to pay attention to weather and natural phenomena is to hack the days of the year into bringing you many gifts, predictable, perhaps, yet no less delightful

Triple Bento with Rice Rolls
Tumblr media
Oh I do love it when there's an excuse for packed lunches!
What have we here? Rice rolls/mini onigiri/gimbap/not-quite-sushi with cucumber and yakiniku hot dog fillings, with yakiniku sauce for dipping; boiled eggs (or a babybel for one family member who doesn't like eggs); lemon and bramble jelly; prawn cocktail Wotsits; grapes and a Groovy biscuit.
Tumblr media
Close up of those rice rolls! The hot dog ones are rolled in sesame and spring onion.
Looking forwards to lunch tomorrow!

First Sausage Sizzle of the Year
it's that time of year again!

Cuppa: hot chocolate from a whistling kettle (the best kind)

Dinner: square sausage in a morning roll!

Sometimes, you don't want to go out, so you snuggle down. Other times, you don't want to go out, but you know you need to.

Dams are fun, aren't they? They water's really high just now. We'll be glad of that if it's a dry summer. It's choppy tonight, and the waves are breaking over the spillways
Tumblr media
I'm so confused about what time of year it is, because of the early Easter and having been abroad. I keep thinking it's later than it is, and feeling lost and disoriented. My sense of being grounded depends so much on the seasons, I needed some time outside to reset my clock, in among the birdsong and the bleating of the lambs.

Tea and Lego*
Tumblr media
There's no better way to spend a pleasant morning in the garden!
Cuppa: Twinings raspberry and peach
Did you know that, whereas in American English, Lego is a countable noun ("look at all these Legos!"), in British English, it's uncountable, like rice or water ("look at all this Lego!"). The countable noun in British English is "a piece of Lego".
Tumblr media
Took me a few days to post this, here's the finished article!
