Hello Mr Gaiman, I just wanted to properly thank you for including so much casual queerness in Good Omens, specifically season 2.
I watched the second season with one of my best friends, who isn't homophobic, but he's a "true blue white aussie" and queerness isn't really a part of his life. Being queer myself, that isn't ideal, but we never really talked about it, and I valued his friendship enough to never need to bring it up.
But after watching this season together, he's hooked on Aziraphale and Crowley's story and wants a happy ending for both of them, even though he would never usually watch a show with queer main characters. His love for the show gave me enough confidence to finally, properly, come out to him, and although he probably doesn't quite understand my labels, I feel that he's more accepting of me than he would have been before.
i love the dichotomy of neurodivergencies in how falin and laios are portrayed, especially how it pertains to how men and women in the spectrum present differently
laios is incredibly obviously autistic. he can't read a room, he loves to bring up things he loves at every opportunity, he likes to feel prepared for every situation. he's also loud, personable, and kind.
falin (from her limited screen time so far imsorryihaventreadthemanga) shares a lot of traits with laios. she's kind, friendly, and loves to discuss her interests, but won't bring them up unless someone initiates. she's also very quiet and doesn't start conversations as much as joining them.
they're both clearly on the spectrum, but falin i think has made herself more tolerable, which is why people like shuro like her but not laios. like a lot of women with autism, she's learned to squash her more abrasive traits to be likeable
we talk a lot about ohhhh what if my calling is to be the greatest mammoth hunter ever and I'm wasting my talents in the modern era but we never think about what if Thog from 30,000 BCE was the only person ever born who could get a sub-7min Donkey Kong Country any%, and he never got the chance. what about thog
