Shoma Uno: Through the Years
Wishing a happy retirement to our two-time world champion, Shoma Uno! I remember the days when he was called the "Silver Prince" because he placed second in Pyeongchang, Worlds, GPF, and 4CC. Well, take a good look at him now: a titleholder for every major competition except the Olympics! Although I had hopes that he would hold out until Milan 2026, I'm glad he was able to step down when he wanted to. Congratulations on spending 21 years of skating, Shoma! You've made us (and Stephane) all proud.

lisa mckinnon is a swedish costume designer. mckinnon was only 12 years old when she started making her own skating dresses and practice clothes. it soon grew in to a passion and a freelance business, that would keep her busy during her teenage years and later on during her off time from touring. in march 2014, she formed her own company, lisa mckinnon designs inc.

“I tie my skates as the pink light of sunrise fades from the surrounding windows. Stepping onto the ice, I begin skating, the wind fiercely buffeting my face. The biting cold of New York nips at my skin. Every fiber of my being is attuned, yet the world is silent—an immersive bubble of physical sensations I surrender to.
It’s been two decades since I last skated alone, let alone improvised. Doing both now feels deeply exposing. But as Jordan approaches, speaker in hand, I release my inhibitions and allow myself to dance with him and the music, embracing them as my partners in this newfound creative space.
