i think it’s quite interesting when people say “well lesbian spaces should sometimes have trans guys in because they were already part of that community and it would be wrong to turn them away” — would you treat a detransitioning trans lesbian the same way? would you make space for that straight man who used to think he was a lesbian, as you would for trans men? or are you perhaps relying on a little bit of bioessentialist slight of hand here

one of the major problems with the "everyone is valid! pick whatever label feels best!" mentality is that it literally prioritises feelings of misinformed people over facts, history and material reality

"fiction doesn't affect reality" so why do you care about gay rep in children's cartoons, or trans rep in videogames. why do we teach kids morals through storytelling. why do novels find themselves in the center of social movements. why do inventions start as plot devices before becoming real. why do people's lives change through the fiction they read and watch. why is a fictional novel credited for kick-starting a war. why did a videogame completely revitalize a dying sport in real life. why is a TV show called propaganda. why does the US military fund blockbuster movies. why are books being banned in schools and prisons. how do these works of fiction not affect reality

i still think the funniest concept i have seen gain like… fairly widespread credibility is the idea that you can experience NOT experiencing attraction on a spectrum
“yes this is the not experiencing sexual attraction spectrum, we don’t experience sexual attraction except for those of us who do”
and then when you ask where that spectrum of NOT experiencing but sometimes experiencing sexual attraction ends and you get accused of being a bigot. as if it’s wrong to want to know at what point a person who experiences sexual attraction and likes to fuck stops being asexual…
like man i know i’m dumb as shit on a regular day but this shit is next level like maybe i’m smart if this is my competition. people really will say and believe literally anything.

Some of you straight up hate masculine women and gnc women and I wish you'd just say that with your full chest instead of pretending women are oppressed for being feminine when in reality feminine behavior is expected and women are policed by men and each other if they don't present femininely enough. Femininity is looked down upon esp in men but that's bc it's associated and tied to women. Not bc women are oppressed for being feminine

have you read Female Masculinity? there’s a pretty interesting chapter exploring what relationship there is between Butch-FTM identity
I recognize the author's dead name so I probably read one of his books Back In The Day but I don't think I got around to reading that chapter
Even then I'm not denying that there are similarities between butch lesbians and trans men. There absolutely are. I, a masc lesbian, am very close with a lot of trans men because they're my friends. We have similar experiences, but there are notable differences, not only with how we view gender, but what our lives are like. There is only so much human variation in the world and some may find very similar experiences. But at the end of the day, trans men are men. Butches are not. They are (usually) women. And a fair amount of them are trans women!!!
Most of the time when people say "there is little difference between butch lesbians and trans men", the follow up is usually "so it's totally okay for lesbians to fuck men and sexuality is fake." This is grossly lesbophobic (denying lesbians their sexuality) and transphobic (denying trans men their manhood), and a lot of it DOES connect back to terf ideology. The idea that trans men are just confused lesbians or that it's okay for lesbians to love them cuz trans men are female. That is something terfs say! A lot!!
Sorry for going off on a tangent. Idk why that post is getting more clout but I still stand by it and it's still correct.

"asexuals are constantly told there's something wrong with them" is the first thing you listed when arguing aces face conversion therapy lol
still cant find any of these many sources to back your point huh?
aces absolutely not face conversion therapy and that's how i know you're full of shit.
Yes they do, asexuals are constantly told there’s something wrong with them, are pushed into medical treatments to “fix” them, etc. According to research by the UK government, they’re actually MORE likely to be offered conversion therapy because asexuality is still seen as a disorder.
It’s like you people don’t even understand what conversion therapy actually is. It really doesn’t matter what evidence anyone gives you, you’ll still take your own ignorance as fact.

you can't use a study as evidence without citing it lol
"there are so many sources of information for this" then where are they?
people saying something is wrong with you is rude but it isn't even close to conversion therapy, it's frankly offensive to equate them

Yeah, you're not doing discourse over sexual attraction because you literally don't know what attraction means. They do say that autistics understand allistics more than allistics do themselves, that neurodivergents understand neurotypical better than themselves, that trans people understand cis people than they do themselves, that poc understand white pepple better themselves, so on and so forth. Aspecs understand allos and attraction better than allos do themselves. Because aspecs are constantly confronted and HAVE to learn it to understand it, we are forced to everyday of our lives. We know more about different types of attraction than anyone else. And we will keep learning more than anyone else. You are also a bootlocker and forever will be unless you change what you think you know, you egotistical asshat of a clown.
now why on earth would someone who doesn’t feel attraction know more about attraction than people who do. also i am sooooo so so tired of this attitude that only aspec people have ever questioned the societal conventions of sex and romance. you actually are not “learning more than everyone else” and that’s an insanely naive and narcissistic thing to think about. other people are capable of complex thought and introspection for gods sakes
