hey! this isn't really an ask or anything like that, but your blog comes up on my feed a fair bit n i just wanna ask if you're okay, i know things suck sometimes but like. idk. honestly i don't even know what the point of writing this was lmao but i think i mainly just want to make sure that you're taking care of yourself, and that you don't let peoples opinion of you take over your life (god knows i need some work in that field lmfao)
have a good day <3
heyyy! i am doing pretty not great to be totally honest but i’m getting there. this ask came at the perfect time, so thank you so so much for that.
hope you have a good day too, and thank you so much <33
i love coming online after having a bad day with noise and seeing that there are still people reblogging this post it makes me feel so seen and i feel so much less alone and it’s really good (obviously it’s not good if you can relate to this. but. anyway.)
so let’s get something straight: if i cover my ears because i cannot stand the sound of someone chewing, im being rude. so i don’t cover my ears and instead end up in tears, and im being dramatic and im an attention seeker. so i move away from whoever it is who is chewing, and im being disrespectful and making that person feel bad, so clearly im a horribly selfish person. so i blast music to drown out the sound of somebody chewing, but its rude to listen to music at the dinner table, so obviously i have no manners and im a horrible person. how can i win this???
episode 3342982 of me going wtf was hamilton's life
Did y'all know that someone broke into Hamilton's dorm room and stole his books and pamphlets, likely because they were Loyalist and wanted him to shut up? They took a bunch of papers that patriot Alexander McDougall had supplied, presumably to aid Ham with the anti-British arguments he was publishing.
I swear there was something in the amrev air because everyone was batshit crazy. Who's the guy who climbed through a window, broke open a case, just to take a bunch of reading material from Hamilton and dip? Can you imagine being a stressed college student coming back to your dorm after a long day only to realize that some little shit had gone to the trouble of breaking and entering just to take books and papers you needed? I would've had a breakdown.
It is with the utmost chagrin I am obliged to inform you, that I am not able to return you all your pamph[l]ets; and what is still worse the most valuable of them is missing. I beg you will not impute it to carelessness; for I assure you upon my honor the true state of the case is this—I put your pamphlets in the case with my other books; and some person about the College got into my room through the window, broke open my case, & took out The friendly address, Bankrofts treatise, Two volumes of natural philosophy and a latin author.
Letter to Alexander McDougall
Also hilarious how Alexander clarifies in his letter "This is not my fault and it wasn't because I was careless, I swear I swear". The letter's dated between 1774-1776 but maybe his habit of losing things was already established.
I am so sick of the argument that people on the aromantic/asexual spectrum are ‘too young to know’ or ‘just haven’t found the right person yet.’
Like ?????
Any label, lesbian, bi, trans, anything, has a chance of being found to be inaccurate.
Someone who thought they were a lesbian can later realize they’re actually bi, and people are perfectly fine with them using that label.
AT THIS TIME, the label aro/ace spec speaks to them, so LET THEM HAVE IT. I don’t care if they’re fucking 11, if they’ve done research and feel comfortable with the label then they should be able to use it without being accosted.
so how exactly did alex escape his hanging? i know that rope’s gotta leave a pretty nasty mark/or even scar for a while. rope burn sucks :(
The soldiers were quick to open fire and Alex booked it into the woods, narrowly escaping being fatally shot. The darkness of the trees overhead and sun setting allowed him him good cover. He just ran and ran until they gave up but he kept running and, seemingly, by sheer luck, he made it to the Continental's lodging.
Desperate to get out of open sight and not even caring he was on enemy territory, he banged on the front door with his foot and thank GOD Laurens was the one who answered.
Like a stray pathetic puppy caught in the rain, Laurens really had no choice but to let him in.
Of course, the other aides didn't trust him one bit and suggested they just kick him out. Alex didn't trust them either, refusing to even speak English around them.
Speaking only French allowed him to just feel like he had at least a LITTLE control in his situation...Laurens and Lafayette glanced at each other and decided they would pretend to be clueless for fun. Needless to say, eventually he warmed up to everybody and the other aides realized he was harmless and Washington brought him on board.
