It was a good time spent with my family and relatives!! Hopefully I would be able to visit other parts of Japan in the future~ :D Here’s the end of my blog on Japan, actually I just needed a platform to showcase all the pictures I’ve taken! I don’t really care if nobody reads this, this place is for me to put my memory in place, in case someday I don’t remember what happened etc. Ciaos!

27 DECEMBER 2016
Day 4: NAGOYA - TAKAYAMA - SHIRAKAWA - NAGONO
Tumblr media
As usual, my morning selfie~
In the morning we went to this UNESCO World Heritage site - Shirakawa-go Ogimachi Gassho Village, tranquil mountain village of 113 buildings is located at the highest peak of Mt Haku. It was a very 古老、朴实 kind of place, with all the wooden houses and rivers, lakes, padi fields all over. Yeh, I am a very geography person so I enjoy the scenery and 向往淳朴的生活。I was all excited to get there and hoped for snow as Google showed pretty amazing pictures of the place when it snows. It was a pity we didn’t encounter snow when we were there, it was still worthwhile to make a trip there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we headed to Takayama Old Town, Sanmachi Suji, which retains the elegance of an Edo period Township of over 400 years ago. We enjoyed strolling through the vibrant town where the streets are lined with restaurants and shops built into its original houses and rickshaws wheeled throughout the town.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wah it was a very close shave. I only started queuing for the sushi when we had 30mins before our meeting time. (the queue was freeeeeaking long pls) Then 5mins before the meeting time, my relatives already started walking back to the bus but I was still queuing!! I persevered and it was my turn when the clock strikes the exact meeting time~ Of cos I had to try it cos Barry says I have to try it when I’m there. And yeh, it was good!!! Not only it was Instagram-worthy, it was still tummy-worthy~ And yes, 口袋破了个大洞。但没关系啦,偶尔的奢侈不算是奢侈。Because good food is worth the time and money :P
Then we boarded the bus and was otw to the next destination to Matsumoto Castle. And halfway, we saw snow?!?! Then our driver was so nice??? He stopped at a random place for us to take pictures and play with the snow? Cos our tour guide told him we were anticipating snow for this trip. And yeh, 皇天不负苦心人!Here are some photos we took in the snow!! The temperature was 3°C or below? I think it got to -1°C at one point? <3 it
Tumblr media
Look how genuinely we all were smiling~ And I was so happy I didn’t care about my scarf touching the floor lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After a memorable encounter with the snow, we headed to our last destination, Matsumoto Castle. It was a pity cos Japan daylight time is slightly shorter, so by 5pm the sky gets dark. Due to -wasting some time taking pics with the snow-, we only got to the place after 5pm and it was all dark. So this was the maximum we could take of the castle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Random street I took while walking to the place.
Tumblr media
Our super sumptuous dinner (that’s why I gained weight cos there’s so much food everyday) There’s 2 servings of mains, rice and udon in the soup. With the tempura I didn’t take cos I couldn’t wait to start digging in~ After our meal, we were all ready for Onsen!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tatami beds for feifei, kaicong and I! And we had a really good night sleep that night with the windows opened. Cos the aircon(heater) was simply to hot for me to handle cos it was emitting hot air every second and I couldn’t stand the heat the whole night so the windows had to be opened. But damn, I woke up to a very dry throat..

JAPAN TRIP 2016
28 DECEMBER 2016
Day 5: NAGONO - MT FUJI
Honestly I don’t have much recollection of what and where we went that day, all we did was chasing Mt Fuji wherever we went.
I think we went to these places:
1) Mt Fuji, japan’s tallest and most sacred mountain. We only went to the 1st station (the lowest level) cos the weather wasn’t good enough to go up further.
2) Oshino Hakkai Village, crystal water ponds formed after many years of water collected from the melted snow of Mt Fuji.
3) Peace Park
4) Gotemba Premium Outlet Mall. Shopping haven where I spent a lot of my money there on branded stuff.

JAPAN TRIP 2016
26 December 2016
Day 3: OSAKA - KYOTO - NARA - NAGOYA
Tumblr media
Just me and my daily selfie~
From Osaka to Kyoto, we first went to Nara Deer Park where numerous deer roam freely. Within the park, there is a nearby UNESCO World Heritage Site - Kiyomizu Temple. It commands a panoramic view of Kyoto surrounded by Cherry Blossoms in Spring, Green Foliage in Summer and Crimson Maples in autumn. But too bad, we were there during the winter period.

Umm, my mum took a super unglam shot of me crawling through a hole in the pillar which suppose to give good luck?
-Lunch-
Tumblr media
Geisha photo taking session.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She look very pretty right, but I got the shock of my life when I saw her with super stained yellow teeth when she smiled??? Maybe that’s why she never smile with her (yellowish) teeth~
Apparently the angmohs at the area queued up behind us cos they thought they could get a chance with the geisha too. But well, our tour group actually specially arranged for this so they actually have to pay for the photo.
After that, we headed to Todaiji Temple - largest wooden building in the world, UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love Kyoto so much!! I love the weather and walking down random streets in this weather of below 10degrees? Love this place without any infrastructure or high-rise buildings. All these ancient, old buildings makes me feel very settling and just like I’m part of them.  Not a fan of temples but the history behind all these World Heritage sites are pretty intriguing and the people who made these possible are very noble. Especially the temple built by wooden planks, one by one, must have been very tough to build!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
How to resist matcha food in Kyoto!!
After that, we headed for KBBQ (IKR the irony of being in Japan, and yet we are eating Korean food????)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
OMO THE LEGENDARY KOBE BEEF WHICH COSTS $280++! But it was worth it la, the meat was so tender and the fragrant smell of the meat was just out of this world kinda good. The tender meat just melts in your mouth and dissolves into juicy little pieces of goodness.
Tumblr media
Fruits for dessert after a sumptuous BBQ. The honeydew was super sweet and juicy!! We kept going back for more! Why can’t SG import these from Japan??
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Goodnight all~

Day 2: KANSAI - KOBE - OSAKA

Tumblr media
LEL, all our morning faces~
After breakfast, we headed to Osaka Castle in Chūō-ku, Osaka.

These 2 humans forever photo-bombing me..

(Do not use your phone while crossing the road)
Then, we headed to Shinsaibashi 心斎橋, the city's main shopping area. Well, 1.5hrs was definitely not enough to us all to shop!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Photo taken at the famous crab place with my relatives!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the famous running man.
Next, we headed to Habourland “Mosaic Town” along the bay with a splendid view of the Kobe Port Tower on the opposite shore.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The view at Kobe Port Tower was splendid! Or maybe credits to my amazing photo-editing skills~
We were given 2hrs here to settle our lunch, so we drop by a random ramen store to have a quick lunch. (We thought all Japanese ramen would be nicer than SG ones so we weren’t very picky about the restaurant)
Tumblr media
Hehe, my cute little bro looking satisfied with his ramen.
Tumblr media
I like this photo cos the streaks of my purple hair could still be seen :P But I looked really tired here, blame the long bus rides we take before getting to every destination.
Tumblr media
To my surprise, the ramen was not to my liking cos it was too salty(or I meant flavourful)
We went to a Sake brewery for some sake-tasting. Well well, never say no to free samples to sake. Not a great fan of sake, but I certainly like the fruity-flavoured ones the most.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Photo with Joleen :>
Tumblr media
Then we headed to Kobe Chinatown “Namki-Machi”, it was pretty boring so we ended up not taking photos.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was painful to have dinner at a restaurant near Universal Studios Japan, but not entering. Someday I’m coming back for ya!! Here’s our first authentic local food~ It looks small but the little small portions of everything actually make you super full!!
