tarot with deities
Does anyone find that communication with the gods through tarot to be a little challenging? I’ve been doing tarot for 4+ years now so I do understand what I’m doing, but I get very confusing cards and alternating answers. Do others have this problem?

Hellenic Polytheism Resources
Hellenic polytheism, at the most basic, is the modern worship of the ancient Greek pantheon. Hellenic polytheists may also honor the nymphs and other nature spirits, and personified virtues, and practice some form of ancestor cult, sometimes combined with hero cult.
Hellenic polytheism is also known as Hellenic paganism, Hellenic Polytheistic Reconstructionism, Hellenismos, Hellenic paganism, Olympianism and Dodecatheism or Dodekatheism.
It’s occasionally called Hellenistic Polytheism, though it should be noted that the term “Hellenistic” refers specifically to the time period from the death of Alexander the Great to the defeat of Cleopatra and Mark Antony by Octavian in 31 BCE.
The term “Hellenism” was used to describe traditional Greco-Roman religion by the Emperor Julian and is still being used by modern reconstructionist and revivalist groups, especially those in Greece. There has been controversy over the use of “Hellenism” over the past two years, though Hellenic polytheist groups in Greece have issued statements permitting non-Greeks who worship the Theoi to use the term.
“Hellene” is a word used to describe Greeks and people of Greek heritage; it is therefor incorrect to use it as a synonym for practitioners of Hellenic polytheism.

I just agree with this so deeply
If you’re finding it difficult to carve out a practice for yourself, you’re just having a normal response. We were never supposed to do this. Polytheism is not an orthodoxy that we can divert to based on dogma and texts. It’s an orthopraxy, the likes of which were always intended to be practiced by the community, the polis, with the guidance of elders and experts. Because of the march of time bringing forced Christianization, colonization, and capitalism enforcing rugged individualism, we’ve been left with little choice but to carve a tiny piece for ourselves.
We’re doing fantastic, considering we’re rebuilding from the scraps and ruins of long gone empires.

*Friendly reminder*
I just wanted to clarify that my blog is NOT a fandom blog. This is a religious blog, this is a space for Hellenic Polytheist, other pagans or similar, witches, and other religious groups . I do not see my gods as fictional characters and I do not want anyone who considers or treats my gods as such here (peace and love)
Thank you ❤️‍🔥

How to Determine Locations with Tarot
Ask any question and perform any spread. Then let the cards’ meanings, helped by your intuition, pinpoint the location.
WHERE WILL I MEET MY SOULMATE?
Cards: Eight of Wands (quick incoming messages) + Page of Swords (social media stalking)
Answer: You will meet your soulmate online.
WHERE ARE MY SUNGLASSES?
Cards: The Chariot (vehicle, carriage seat) + Four of Pentacles (embracing, tightness)
Answer: In your car, stuck between the seats.
WHERE SHOULD I SPEND SUMMER?
Cards: The Empress (mother) + Six of Cups (childhood)
Answer: Go home to visit your parents.
WHERE WILL I FIND FULFILMENT?
Cards: Eight of Pentacles (work) + Nine of Cups (banquet)
Answer: Give catering a try.
WHERE WILL I SEE MY EX AGAIN?
Cards: Three of Wands (ships coming in) + Six of Swords (travel by water)
Answer: On a cruise.
As you can see, tarot can be used to answer a range of questions from the most sacred to the most mundane; from the most complex to the simplest. How? Here are countless tips.

!!!!!
Hi! I wanted to know if it is possible to worship the primordial gods, and if yes, how? Thanks a lot
Hi there!
So, just in case someone reading it might not be too familiar with them, primordial deities are the first generation of gods and goddesses (emerged fully-formed at creation) representing the fundamental forces and physical foundations of the world. Their worship was not too common and sometimes the deities weren't even given human characteristics.
Yes, of course, it's possible to worship primordial gods!
I worship them similar to how I do it with other generations of gods if that makes sense? So it doesn't make much of a difference if I'm praying to a Titan, an Olympian or a Primordial god. It might only slightly change depending on what kind of deity they are, so if they're Chthonic [Underworld], Ouranic [Heaven] or Einalic [Sea], you know? And when it comes to offerings and such, I just look at their domains and again, the kind of deity they are.
Unfortunately, there is little information on how Primordials were worshipped in antiquity, so in some cases, we can only assume things and rely on UPGs. Some of these gods had temples and shrines and even festivals, others might have had them too although we have no information regarding that.
Here are some notable mentions:
Tumblr media
Nyx - Primordial Goddess of Night [Chthonic, although at night she's in the sky]
Notable epithets: Asteroömmatos (Star-eyed), Trophós (Nurse of The Gods), Melanópteros (Black-winged)
Some of her attributes include: wings, chariot, dark mists,
It's likely Nyx was invoked in rituals involving witchcraft
▪︎ Megara, Greece - oracle of Nyx [Pausanias, Description of Greece]
▪︎ Lemuria, Roman festival [May 9] - a rite for Nox was performed during the festival (Roman 'equivalent' of Nyx) [Ovid, Fasti]
Good info on Nyx - epithets + Orphic Hymn: LINK
Tumblr media
Khronos - Primordial God of Time (Ananke's consort)[Ouranic]
Notable epithets/his other names: Aion, Poros (Contrivance)
Some of his attributes include: the zodiac wheel,
scythe
Khronos was essentially a cosmological double of the Titan Kronos. In antiquity the two deities were sometimes equated with each other.
Khronos was also sometimes identified with Aion (God of Time, Eternity, and Zodiac) but often that's just considered his other name.
Khronos played a part in Orphic Mysteries.
He is sometimes depicted turning the zodiac wheel.
▪︎ Possible [Alexandrian] festival of Aion: 6 January (his birthday)
Good info on Khronos: LINK
Tumblr media
Ananke - Primordial Goddess of Necessity (Khronos' consort)[Ouranic]
Notable epithets: Adrasteia (Inescapable), Tekmôr (Purpose)
Some of her attributes include: a torch
Ananke was considered the most powerful dictator of fate and circumstance; mortals as well as gods respected her power and paid her homage.
Sometimes Ananke was considered the mother of the Fates and thought to be the only being to influence their decisions.
▪︎ Corinth, Greece - sanctuary of Ananke and Bia (Force) [Pausanias, Description of Greece]
Tumblr media
Gaia - Primordial Goddess of The Earth [Chthonic]
Notable epithets: Megalê Thea (Great Goddess), Chthonia (Earth), Kourotrophos (Nurse of The Young)
Some of her attributes include: fruit and grain
Gaia was a prophetic goddess and there were stories of her oracles, for example, it was thought that the oracle of Delphi once belonged to Gaia [Pausanias, Description of Greece]
Gaia was often called upon as a witness to oaths, e.g. The Iliad, Homeric Hymn to Delian Apollo, Prometheus Bound
She had shrined all around Greece and was often worshipped along with Demeter, perhaps due to their domains being similar.
Some of Gaia's main shrines:
▪︎ Athens, Greece - sanctuary of Gaia Kourotrophe and Demeter Khloe
▪︎ Sparta, Greece - sanctuary of Gaia, called Gasepton
▪︎ Olympia, Greece - sanctuary of Gaia, called Gaion
Good info on Gaia - epithets + Orphic Hymn: LINK
Tumblr media
There are more primordial deities, of course. Although, sometimes the accounts on who's primordial and who's not may vary.
Here's one list and more info on some deities: LINK
Overall, I highly recommend looking for more information about Primordials on Theoi.com and Hellenicgods.org
With time, I plan to make cheat sheets for some of them. I'll link them in this post one they're done, too.

The stuff going on in the Law of Assumption community kinda takes me back to when I was a teenager and desperate to have actual social skills, and being attracted to ugly-duckling-to-swan stories like Gigi and The Princess Diaries. These narratives basically suggested that there was some easy way to transform myself into someone appealing and desirable; all I'd have to do was learn the Proper Etiquette and Curious Little Rules and bam, it could all be mine.
And like, at the time I was too young to really think about whether what the films depicted was really a good thing. I didn't have the context to understand how Mia's princess makeover was pushing certain Eurocentric beauty standards, or that the whole "yeah you can't really be a princess until you ditch the glasses" thing was kinda ableist. Not to mention, y'know, the whole girlboss feminism of it all, and upholding the idea that monarchy is desirable, and y'know, a lot of things that just don't occur to you when you're a teenage girl. (Nonbinary egg in my case, technically, but ya know.)
And today the LOA community is offering a similar thing, a kind of magic formula that'll supposedly allow all of these struggling teenagers sort out their lives, while pushing harmful beauty standards and advocating lifestyles that seem glamorous on the surface, but are actually just... terrible. Like the k-pop industry and modeling industry are horrifically exploitative, and the idea that the rich and famous are all fantastically happy people because they've manifested their best lives falls apart when you examine how much abuse goes on in Hollywood and how people like Donald Trump are incredibly insecure. Meghan Markle was so stressed out from the press that she and her husband left the UK.
And then of course, the LOA community pushes the idea that you can manifest all of these perfect lives that people on social media supposedly have. But the fact is, those social media doesn't show you reality; it shows you what the other person wants you to see. Those gorgeous pictures you see on Instagram are carefully staged and edited. A middle aged vlogger used filters to pass herself off as a young woman. One YouTube influencer decided to play a silly prank and claim that photos of herself taken in an IKEA store were actually taken in Bali - and to her surprise, her followers ate it up. Another influencer led people to think she was living this amazingly glamorous life when in reality, she was living in a filthy apartment. One influencer faked a hiking picture in her own back yard.
The Law of Assumption thrives among people who don't know a lot about the world yet, and don't realize that beautiful facades often conceal mundane to horrific realities. It thrives among people who don't have enough experience to consider that Neville Goddard, like many influencers of our time, might have just been lying.
I remember being that young and naive, and if I had come across something like this I might have been caught up in it. It's absolutely designed in a way that appeals to certain vulnerable young people, and that's what makes the whole thing so insidious.
If you are questioning or trying to get out of the LOA community and need help, please see this post.

@Shepherds4Good: Palestinian children in Gaza hold a press conference outside Al Shifa hospital, speaking English so the world cannot pretend not to understand them: “We come now to shout and invite you to protect us; we want to live, we want peace… we want to live as the other children live.”
