ﾟ･✿ヾ he stalks a lot. on broad daylight — as he is now looking like a normal citizen, he takes advantage of that image to appear often in front of your eyes so you would think he is just going about his usual working days.

“Oh, Dazai! Good morning! What coincidence we meet at this same place, ahaha!” you greeted the same man you had met for the past few days whenever you were out in town to go to your next schedule. Dazai only grinned, giving you the nicest smile.

“What coincidence, isn't it?”

ﾟ･✿ヾ he makes use of the intelligence system in the office, looking up everything about you and always never forgets to dispose of his activities. with some tweaks in the internet here and there, he uses the information just to get where he exactly wants you to be.

“I think you'd like this chocolate pastry. What do you think?” Dazai pointed to a picture of a chocolate pastry on the menu while you and he were on a coffee date, standing at the counter while choosing what to get.

“I like that one! Great guess.” you shoved his arm playfully and Dazai proceeded to suggest to you a drink that was absolutely your favourite, much to your surprise. You were impressed by his guesses, joking to him that he might be a prophet.

“Just a lucky guess, bella!”

ﾟ･✿ヾhe takes time very patiently. he passed his mafioso status — it is normal for him to swap to a rather 'peaceful' method to get you. his first few attempts may seem very normal — just a man who's trying to get someone he adores. but as time goes on, dazai turns a bit more desperate.

“Dazai..? What're you doing here? It's almost night.” you were surprised to see Dazai at the front door. The short hand on the clock were approaching the number ten — it was already a time when you prepare yourself for bed or do some more work until midnight.

“Just making sure you're safe. There's a weird case around the neighbourhood, you see,” he replied with a smile. But you felt a bit uneasy, slightly pushing the door to close the gap.

“But.. my address... I never—”

“Looks like you're safe. That's relieving. Then I guess I could continue my work around. Goodnight and sleep well, belladonna.” he said before he left your house.

As soon as he was far from your unit, you closed the door, locking it. You gulped in confusion and disturbance.

ﾟ･✿ヾ he knows you might catch on to something when you are starting to actively avoid him. as usual, when you encounter him on the street, you would just take another path or turn around the corner to avoid long conversations with him. foolish girl, dazai knows the alleyways in the town just like the back of his hand — too well.

“Dazai..?!”

“Oh, hey! Woah, why're you walking through this route? It's dangerous, especially for pretty girls like you, you know?” Dazai replied, nonchalant about your surprise when he suddenly appeared at the other side of the alley that you had been taking ever since your suspicion grew about his actions.

“I.. It's just.. Why are you here..?”

“Hm? Oh, I'm just investigating!”

ﾟ･✿ヾ you know he is something else when your days are starting to include him in the pictures. he always has the time to appear in your view, even if he doesn't greet you. even if you just wait for the train, somehow you could see dazai and his coworker asking several people questions on another platform. the only way to fully avoid him is to not leave your house — and dazai does not like that.

It was a windy night and you just dusted off your bed to sleep. The curtains at the window were blowing along with the wind that entered the room. You stepped towards the window and reached the glass to close it — however, your eyes caught the sight of a man in a beige coat standing on the street. He was looking up at the building — you knew Dazai was looking straight at you.

“Oh my God.” you immediately closed the window and locked it. You locked the door and also blocked it with a chair. When you sat down on your bed, you reached for your phone, only to see a message pop up.

“Sweet dreams, bella.”

ﾟ･✿ヾ you decided to go to the police, hoping that reporting this behaviour of him would keep you safer — you would not go to his workplace. you are unfamiliar with the Agency and there is a bigger risk of him being in the same space as you after all. but dazai expects your moves and carefully places you onto his board — always leading back to him.

“Please.. do everything you can..” you pledged to the cops, nervous by their response as they gave you a disturbed look.

“Miss, are you sure the man you described is the one stalking and breaching your privacy?” one of them asked. You were taken aback — preparing to swallow a bitter pill. It felt as if something bad was about to happen.

“Yes. Yes, I'm sure.”

“But that very same man was here several minutes ago, reporting the same stalking case. He is from a detective agency and apparently they get similar stalker reports. Are you sure that man is the one?” the cop flashed you an untrusting look — and upon hearing the fact that Dazai was here, reporting your stalking case was enough for you to know that hopes were crushed already.

Who knows what else he could have said to these cops?

ﾟ･✿ヾ dazai thinks going to the police for his romantic pursuit is a bit too much. damn, you're overreacting. dazai sighs as he uses his pin to unlock your door — if you are this hard to impress, then maybe he could let in some of his past into himself right now.

“Good morning, sweetheart. Though, the sun is still not up.”

You could not remember what happened other than dizziness after you drink the water from your fridge — the last person you saw was Dazai who revealed himself from the other room in your very house.

“Good morning,” he spoke again, snuggling himself closer to you — both on the bed with Dazai hugging you and stroking your head softly. He also pressed soft kisses on your face, breathing deeply into your scent as if you were his only oxygen.

“Oh, maybe I was too harsh on the drug...” you heard his murmurs but you found yourself unable to speak properly or even move your body. You felt like a marionette and he was tenderly taking care of his precious doll.

“Don't worry. Don't be scared, you'll be fine after this. Now, let's sleep, shall we? Together.”

Jealousy

ft: Atsushi, Chuuya, Kunikida, Akutagawa, Dazai & Ranpo

Synopsis: my thoughts on jealous bsd characters + how they react when somebody flirts with their s/o (when they are in a cafe, bar, etc.)

ATSUSHI’S jealousy is formed by his low self-esteem.

⚜ The constant degradation and abuse by his caretakers have created a dent in Atsushi's self-esteem. The voice in his head that tells him he's unworthy of your love cuts like a knife through his heart. So, when Atsushi sees someone making a move on you, his worst enemy becomes his thoughts. "How can I compete with them? Aren't they better than me? They would be worthy of y/n's love."

⚜ Atsushi almost naturally wants to back down when he gets jealous, or better said, insecure. After all, why would such a wonderful human being like you choose him in the first place? The keyword here is almost. After all, you fell in love with a Weretiger that possesses a good proportion of fighting spirit. (you're a weretiger, grow some wereballs.)

⚜ If Atsushi can see how uncomfortable you are, he especially wouldn't waste another second on thinking. His legs unconsciously already lead him to you. Call it instinct. Atsushi's reaction can go different ways. Scenario one: your boyfriend is going to be very chaotic. He'd explain how you're already taken and lectures the person on why one shouldn't flirt with someone else's s/o. The second option is more likely to happen when Atsushi noticed your discomfort. The instinct to protect you has been awakened and roars loudly in his chest. So, Atsushi straightens his shoulders, lowers his voice, and tells the person it's for the best to leave you alone.

⚜ Recognizing the signs of when Atsushi gets insecure is crucial. If somebody, for example, places their hand on your shoulder and gives you a smile that's a bit too flirty for Atsushi's liking, you notice how his eyes linger on the person's hand. Right when Atsushi is about to lower his head, you can catch the glimpse of a battle going on behind those two-colored eyes.

⚜ What works best in these types of situations is to show Atsushi affection: hold his hand, place a kiss on his cheek, and praise him. A blushing Atsushi is guaranteed and especially if you do this in front of the person who made him feel insecure. Your affection sparks another emotion up in Atsushi as well. It's the feeling of not wanting to lose you to anyone else. That's when the actual jealousy kicks in that make him crave to have you all for himself. Atsushi grew up with so little that it's no wonder he feels possessive over you once somebody tries to take you away from him.

⚜ However, chances are high that Atsushi won't bring these feelings up at first. It's on you to bring up whatever interaction happened that made Atsushi feel this way. Listen to him and assure Atsushi that you've chosen him. Give him affection to show how much you love him. Any love language will do but physical touch and words of affirmation would send Atsushi to heaven.

⚜ When Atsushi is fully into jealousy mode, absolutely envious of the person whose jokes make you laugh so loudly to the point you've to lean on their shoulder, Atsushi wants to remove you as fast as possible from this threat. It's the only thing on his mind. Jealous Atsushi is easy to detect. You can feel the needy grip of his fingers around your arm when he tries to pull you away with a lame excuse. His usually sympathetic features are now decorated with a grumpy frown and tensed muscles.

⚜ Having said this, Atsushi doesn't get jealous often. He trusts you and he sees no harm in most interactions. It's only when Atsushi feels like someone is making a move on you or when you show too much interest in somebody considerably attractive that insecurity digs its way into Atsushi's heart. It depends on how the voices in Atsushi's head are as well. If the words of his former headmaster ring too loud in his head, Atsushi loses faith in your love for him every now and then. Maybe he is a waste, not worthy of anything, maybe... It's so important to be there for him when the inner battle is raging inside of Atsushi.

⚜ As I said earlier, there's a bit of possessiveness hidden in Atsushi's jealousy. He has finally met you, someone so beautiful and kind, supportive and loving, and you've chosen him. It's not something Atsushi takes lightly. Considering that, is it really that odd if Atsushi wants all of your heart?

CHUUYA’S jealousy is formed by fear.

⚜ As someone who wears his heart on his sleeve, Chuuya is destined to be expressive with his emotions. When Chuuya sees someone making a move on you, he can't help but feel threatened and annoyed. "Oi, what is this person doing around y/n? And why is their hand on your shoulder? Who are they to touch what's his?"

⚜ Chuuya's blood is boiling and his fists are clenched. He's angry and irritated, or at least, that's the surface of Chuuya's emotions. As desperately as Chuuya tries to suppress it, these emotions are like a feral animal clawing the inside of his chest. But then again, he doesn't want to appear jealous. No way a piece of shit can rile him up like this. Whoever they are, this person is no competition to a Port Mafia executive like him. Besides, Chuuya obsessively repeats in his head, he's the one you love.

⚜ A thing that would only add more fuel to Chuuya's emotions is when he can clearly see how uncomfortable you're with this person's attempt at flirting with you. Chuuya isn't going to think twice about approaching you to save you from this piece of shit. Depending on the situation, your boyfriend can react in different ways. if the flirting was blatant just like your discomfort with it, Chuuya is a lot more expressive about how this person should fuck off. However, if the flirting is less obvious and more casual, Chuuya would be simply annoyed. He scoffs and is pessimistc throughout the entire conversation, is glued to your side, and has his arm wrapped your waist like a chain.

⚜ That's how you can recognize when Chuuya's jealous. He's more clingy, has an arm locked around you, and his behavior is confrontational towards the person who is causing these green emotions inside of him. Especially when the jealousy is intense, the heat will almost radiate off Chuuya's body.

⚜ The signs are so obvious that it's impossible not to overlook them. If Chuuya has his arm wrapped around your waist, don't push him away. It'll only hurt him more and overflow his heart with fear. Instead, lean against his firm body and caress his arm. Show Chuuya that you want him. Confirm this verbally as well. Say your loyalty lies with him and that you won't let him go. If the person's gone, listen to whatever it is that's weighing Chuuya's heart down. It'll mostly be a rant about the one who flirted with you though. Chuuya's so focused on his anger that he pushes the emotion of fear away.

⚜ Because that's what's behind these layers of anger and frustration. He's worried that he might lose you like he did with so many others. Chuuya's loyalty lies with you, the one who makes him feel grounded and human. He can't lose or be abandoned by you as well. So, every time Chuuay gets jealous and turns possessive, it's due to him being scared to lose you.

⚜ On a jealousy scale from rare to often, Chuuya would score in the middle. It isn't that he gets jealous often because when you're together, it's crystal clear that you two are a couple; Chuuya's focus will always be mainly focused on (spoiling) you. Besides, he's a port mafia executive who is an excellent fighter and possesses a powerful skill. The people who know Chuuya and are aware of your relationship wouldn't even dare to dream about flirting with you for they know better than to get on Chuuya's bad side. Even if people try, Chuuya is not the one to back down from a fight. It's why Chuuya dares to be more confrontational towards the ones who threaten to take you away from him. He knows he can take them down with just the tip of his finger.

⚜ But Chuuya has faith in you. Many times your loyalty to each other has been tested and every time you passed. Chuuya would trust you with his life, his heart, his hat. Fear, nevertheless, is a powerful emotion. It grabs Chuuya by his throat and introduces him to the darkness that feels all too familiar. Even though Chuuya is not the one to chicken out, he holds you as if an invisible force could drag you away into that darkness.

KUNIKIDA'S jealousy is formed by his want of your attention.

⚜ When Kunikida gets jealous, it isn't because of fear or low self-esteem. No, it's because Kunikida wants your attention to be on him. Something about the way you look at him fills his heart with pride. When you look at him, pay attention, and show that you love him... It makes him feel wanted. So, is it really that crazy if Kunikida craves your attention?

⚜ Kunikida won't be immediately alerted when he catches you talking to a stranger. However, the eyes behind his glasses almost pop out of his head once he catches the person touching your elbow. Thoughts run through his head, fill up his mind, and refuse to let go. What are their intentions with his y/n? Are they trying to make a move on you? Another thought creates a spark of fear inside his heart: what if you lose interest in him? What if he loses your attention? What if you don't want him anymore?

⚜ Kunikida, who is a terrible liar and wears his heart on his sleeve, has a terrible time trying to keep his composure. He becomes needier than normal and his behavior turns into chaos. Kunikida suddenly is next to your side asking lots of questions in a loud voice. Multiple times he mentions his pet names for you, your dates, and talks about anything that makes clear that you're a couple. This detective agent is desperate to get your attention back on him. He wants you to look at him, pay attention to him, and show that you love him. Kunikida wants his heart to swell up with pride because he's the one you want. That's what he wants. You. And he doesn't want to share.

⚜ However, if Kunikida could see from the start that this person is making you feel uncomfortable- oh no. He isn't having it. The voice in Kunikida's head that screams he has to protect you fills his head and drowns every possible worrying thought that he had about you leaving him. The dominant aura from Kunikida only radiates stronger once he approaches you and the stranger. It's so intimidating that even you can feel it deep in your bones, leaving you speechless. The only thing you can softly speak is his name and that's enough reason for Kunikida to straighten his back even more. The glance he gives you is soft but worried. Once he looks at the stranger though, those beautiful green-grey eyes turn cold as ice. Kunikida doesn't beat around the bush and everything about him screams authority once he strictly lectures the stranger. After all, Kunikida doesn't stand for anybody making you feel uncomfortable, not when he's around to keep you safe.

⚜ So, it's not hard to figure out when Kunikida is jealous. He's an open book and especially to someone like you who knows his very well. When Kunikida is jealous, he would do anything to get your attention. He needs to be reassured that you want him. And maybe there doesn't necessarily need to be a reason for Kunikida's possessiveness. He wants you and that's clear as day. If Kunikida is very needy and radiates chaotic energy that almost reminds you of his partner, know your man is jealous. If this happens, ask him questions and compliment him. Hook your arm around his, look him in the eyes, and smile fondly at him. It'll ease the worries that run through his body.

⚜ Kunikida is the type to get jealous easily and once he does, he gets possessive. Almost like a child who doesn't want to share their favorite toy. If you work at the ADA and one of your co-workers is a bit too friendly, Kunikida is immediately next to your side. He would scold the co-worker for "slacking" and drowns them in paperwork. When you ask him why he didn't scold you, he turns red and stammers a poor excuse. (He'll turn even redder if you tease him, please do it.) Also, if Dazai flirts with you... Well, he woke up a volcano. Let's keep it at that.

⚜ Kunikida means well though. He turns so needy and possessive because he wants you to be his and him to be yours. He values you and you play such a big part in his ideal life that he can't help but want you all to himself.

AKUTAGAWA'S jealousy is caused by his insecurity.

⚜ He grew up in the slums, was looked down upon, lost his friends, was abused by the mentor he still wants acknowledgment from, and now that same mentor praises the new kid... How can you expect Akutagawa not to be afraid of losing you to someone else? How can he not be afraid he won't be enough for you?

⚜ When Akutagawa catches someone being too flirty with you, it feels like he's being challenged. It's like this person is taunting him and threatening to steal the one person he dares to show his back to away from him. But here's the thing: Akutagawa won't give anyone the chance to replace him. He doesn't think twice when he walks over to you. While the rage isn't vividly painted on his face, you can see the bloodlust in those pitch-black eyes. "Tell me, what makes you think you can flirt with my partner like this and get away with it?"

⚜ What would really activate Akutagawa's bloodlust is when he can see how uncomfortable this person makes you feel. While Akutagawa would try to suppress the intense feeling of disgust, his voice would have the ability to cut through diamonds. Whoever flirted with you, and especially someone who ignored your signs of uncomfortableness, needs to have a strong backbone if they don't want to crawl away right there and then. Akutagawa may look fragile but the atmosphere of death that follows him in battles is undeniably present. If this person takes their chances and still doesn't back away... Well, let's say Akutagawa will introduce them to his dear friend Rashōmon.

⚜ Recognizing the signs of Akutagawa's jealousy isn't that hard to do. It depends mostly on the situation. If it's because someone flirted with you, he becomes confrontational and straightforward towards that person. If Akutagawa knows he's becoming jealous over a silly thing, he'll mostly become a little emotional distance. He'll avoid your gaze and focuses more on his work than ever.

⚜ Akutagawa might not show it, but he needs reassurance once he gets jealous. You have to approach him first though. Akutagawa will be straightforward and honest about his feelings if you ask for it, but don't expect him to approach you first about these green emotions. But when you've approached him, tell Akutagawa that he's enough for you and that you value his presence in your life. Even though Akutagawa isn't huge on physical touch, especially in public, lean with your side against his. Let him feel that you're still next to him. He needs to feel it. Not only for his own reassurance but also to show anybody in the room who's watching that you're together. It would make the mafioso slightly flustered though.

⚜ When Akutagawa is particularly feeling possessive that day, he shields you a bit from the crowd with his slender body. When you ask about it, Akutagawa would be straightforward with his answer. However, he stares at a point next to your head and the hint of blush on his cheeks turns into a deeper color of red. "I'm not up to sharing," your boyfriend responded. It's only when he said it that Akutagawa looks you in the eyes again. While he still finds it terrifying to be so emotionally vulnerable, you can see a determination in his eyes that tells you he won't take any criticism.

⚜ Akutagawa is the type to get possessive. He's afraid of losing the presence in his life that he values so much. When Akutagawa turns possessive, he turns a bit grumpy and irritatable. He tries to suppress it, but Akuatagwa's voice is sharp and he frowns when he tells the person to hurry up or to take their hands off your shoulders because "they are wasting time." Cough cough, sure Akutagawa. (I swear I didn't realize the coughing joke is kinda a hit below the belt but it's too funny to change.)

⚜ Akutagawa trusts you though. However, there's still fear and insecurity buried inside of him. He needs your reassurance, to feel your presence next to him, and needs to feel wanted by you. Have patience with him and explore your relationship step by step. Akutagawa was taught to be always on guard and even someone's hand simply resting on your shoulder makes him stare daggers at it. He isn't necessarily often jealous or possessive as he is careful and protective, but that's because he treasures you and doesn't want to lose the one person he dares to trust his back with.

DAZAI'S jealousy is caused by a mix of things.

⚜ Dazai is quite a confident man when it comes to his skills and charms; he sharpened them until they turned into razor-sharp blades, created to tear down his enemies. However, the same confidence tilts in the presence of someone who genuinely cares for him and thinks of him as a good man. How can you look at his tainted soul and still see him as someone worthy of your love?

⚜ When Dazai sees someone flirting with you, the first thing he does is observe the scenario that's happening in front of him. Dazai knows you like no other: from your body language to your facial expressions and back to the smallest details in your behavior that even you didn't notice about yourself. He knows it all. After all, you're his favorite thing to observe. So, Dazai can immediately observe that you're not romantically interested.

⚜ If anything, a part of Dazai is a little humored to see how someone is trying to make a move on you when he knows how much you're wrapped around his finger. This person doesn't even come close to being Dazai's competition. At least, he'll make sure of it. Dazai approaches you with the happiest facial expression. He would dramatically throw his arms around you while addressing you with a nickname so overly cheesy that it's cringy. Nevertheless, it immediately makes clear that you're already taken by him. Dazai would look at the other person with a smile that gives the impression that he was oblivious to the cruelty this world has to offer. There's nothing more fun than making clear to somebody that you're his. Plus, Dazai loves how you get flustered when he acts like this.

⚜ There are two things that can happen from here. The person either gets the hint and backs down or they keep shooting their shot. If they choose the second option... Oh, the challenge is accepted. Is the stranger looking at your shoulder? Look at that, Dazai's hand is caressing it. Are they looking at your lips? Dazai is suddenly wiping the invisible sugar off your bottom lip with his thumb. Does the person look at your hair? You guessed it, Dazai is playing with it. Looking at your cheek? How unfortunate. Dazai just felt the unbearable need to kiss you on it. It doesn't matter what part of you the person is staring at because Dazai will always be there to leave his mark.

⚜ If this person had made you uncomfortable with their flirting though, Dazai's heart has no room for amusement. For you to be the person he would never want to lose, has obtained and never lost... There are no boundaries he wouldn't cross to keep you safe and comfortable. Dazai would still do all of the previous things mentioned but when you're not looking at him, your boyfriend looks at the stranger with eyes that belong to the demonic prodigy whose blood is mafia-black. It's a shivering sight to behold and you bet it does the trick.

⚜ There are multiple things that cause the jealousy in Dazai's heart. He's an excellent people-reader and especially when it comes to you. Dazai is able to observe that you love him very much. However, the mind and the heart don't always align. Subjectively speaking, Dazai sees your love as something valuable but fragile and he doesn't even know if he truly deserves its pureness. Nevertheless, he's a selfish man and he wants you. Even on good days, there's always the tiniest bit of fear that the smallest variable will take you away from him. What if you realize you can do better? Deserve better? But what if you actually do and he loses you? Hence why Dazai's possessiveness brings out its claws to hold you extra tight when his heart takes over. Sometimes, you could even label it as protectiveness.

⚜ If you truly want to see a jealous Dazai, it'll mostly happen when somebody is trying to wrap you around their fingers in such a charismatic and sly way that you're actually having a good time interacting with them. Especially if Dazai listens more to his subjective voice, his jealousy could freeze rivers for the upcoming one hundred years. He knows you love him but the thought that there might be a tiny chance that someone else steals it away from you is well... He isn't a stranger to loss, and he would pretend not to be too disappointed. After all, Dazai expects everything that's worth obtaining to be lost on him and so how can he be disappointed when he has read the same chapter over and over again? But even when Dazai keeps telling himself that, there's still the tiniest bit of hope that you'd be a different story, a different chapter, a different ending.

⚜ Jealous Dazai is more possessive. He'll still do whatever he would do usually, but now he's more clingy. You can feel his fingers grip your waist a bit tighter while he pushes you against his side. Those chocolate brown eyes watch you like a hawk and even the usual "accidental" touches like your shoulders brushing against each other when you walk past one another, increase and become more apparent. Dazai won't lose you that easily. This is the only sign that shows your boyfriend is jealous. That, or he closes himself emotionally off.

⚜ To reassure him, stay next to his side. Show through the little actions that you care about Dazai: ask how he is, brush his bangs out of his eyes, and get him something as simple as a drink or a snack. Dazai being able to observe you're still next to him and caring for him reassures the objective side of him that says there's nothing to worry about, making his brain and heart align.

RANPO'S jealousy is caused by possessiveness.

⚜ Did somebody say "sharing you"? Oops, that's not in Ranpo's dictionary. He's starved for your attention and his behavior turns into that one of a child that doesn't want to share his favorite toy (or snack in this case hehe). Nope, Ranpo totally isn't up for... hold up a minute, who is that person next to you who is placing their hand on your shoulder?

⚜ A pout immediately decorates Ranpo's face while every muscle in his body screams, no begs, to slap that hand off your shoulder and snitch you away from whoever that person is. That's quite literally what Ranpo ends up doing. He'd hold you in his arms, clinging to your presence while he watches the person with suspicious eyes. "Hey, what do you think you're doing? They are mine."

⚜ If the person doesn't back down, well, Ranpo gladly takes on the challenge. There's nothing the greatest detective in Yokohama, no, in the whole world, can't do! Give Ranpo five seconds and he'll attack the stranger with every single, personal and deepest detail he can find about them up until the person is so scared and creeped out that they'll run away, leaving Ranpo with the smuggest and most satisfied grin on his face behind. Ranpo would immediately claim up your entire attention again and frankly enough, he's even clinger than usual. Not to mention, he probably insulted the person quite a few times when he was mentioning all those personal details.

⚜ If you had been clearly uncomfortable with the flirting, Ranpo's behavior wouldn't have been as whiny as it originally is. He would have been a lot more calmer and mature, standing in front of you to shield you from this person. His facial expression would first be serious, describing the scenario from him; mentioning your signs of uncomfortableness, them ignoring it, and how ill-mannered it is. If the person doesn't care, Ranpo would expose everything he can find about the person as well. However, this time Ranpo's grin has something sinister about it. The things he'd expose about the person aren't things like "you had coffee for breakfast at --" or "in grade 5 you embarrassed yourself by doing--" no. Home address. Daily routine. Things they haven't even told their closest friends. Ranpo can name it all. Safe to say that would genuinely alarm the person.

⚜ Recognizing the signs of Ranpo's jealousy is as easy to do as breathing. The pout, clinginess, the demand to get all of your attention, literally dragging you away from anyone who he thinks claims up your attention for too long, etc. He's a lot. He'd sit you down somewhere so he can sit on your lap and whines about how you're barely giving him attention. Other times Ranpo would maybe try to act distant, cross his arms and look away with a pout if you ask him about a case, mumbling a "does it look like I care?". You probably gave someone other than him a snack or praise.

⚜ Speaking of, praise and snacks is the way to bribe Ranpo into dropping his jealousy. Buy his favorite snack and you're the love of his life (he also demands a kiss though which he'll brag about towards the person that made him jealous). Praise him and his jealousy slowly fades. But oh, if you whisper praise in his ears while holding him firm but tenderly in front of others, make him feel loved and appreciated, good and yours, he'll blush and probably drag you to another room.

⚜ Ranpo is the type to get jealous often, but it's usually about small things and never that seriously. If Ranpo is truly jealous and more possessive, he's a lot more serious and mature, but still trying to claim you as much as he can. But again, it's usually about something insignificant. He's just an attention-whore, really (affectionately). If it may annoy you, he'll always try to cool it down a little. If something happens that makes him jealous, he's ready to open his mouth but changes his mind halfway.

⚜ If anything, Ranpo's desperation for your attention shows that he loves you very much. He trusts you but your love is like cotton candy: sweet and always leaves room for more.

definitely is flustered by it

tries to muster up the courage to wake you up but just finds you too peaceful when sleeping???

so he ends up looking very awkward just there 😀

Kunikida ends up waking you guys up telling you guys that it’s not time to act like this (during work)

Most of time, you fall asleep on his shoulder (usually when on the train or office)

doesn’t understand how can you could be this comfortable when falling asleep on someone especially also looking so peaceful and cute at the same time

def won’t be able to look you in the eyes for the next few days until you confront him

Those moments live rent free 24/7 in his mind

it’s either one of the worst decisions of your life or a very rare and peaceful moment with him

Thinks about how cute you look and how naïve you are to trust him

after a few minutes after you start sleeping on him, he’ll start thinking of what to do with you

drawing on your face? Cause chaos while you are asleep on him? Hide your belongings? Make you a super weird haircut?

on occasions, he would stop the teasing and relish the time with you while his mind is at ease

Kunikida also ends up waking you guys up, telling you guys to be more serious (at work)

though he wants to be more reserved with his relationship with you, I can see him mentioning to people about how cute you are when you fall asleep on him

this is fairly rare that you’ll ever be able to fall asleep on the man at work

he’ll be snappy, telling you that he doesn’t have time for this right now

on that one occasion that you DO in fact get to sleep on him,

Yooo thanks for the ask! I was wavering about if I would be able to get this individual blog started up in terms of writing, so I'm very grateful that you submitted a request ^-^

synopsis: your boyfriend is an idiot, which once again resulted in you running to his aid and patching him up—something that caused you grief, except this time, you were unwilling to swallow that grief

genre: angst with fluff, dazai reader insert

content warning(s): gn!reader, mentions of suicide, implied sexual activity, descriptions of depression

author's note: i'm a hoe for pm!dazai, so naturally this involves pm!dazai; some information is referenced from stuff in the dark era light novel

word count: 2k+

You glanced down at the text message that Oda had sent you roughly 20 minutes ago. You had just returned from a mission and had barely had a foot in the door to your condo when you received his text message. Your boyfriend, Dazai, was notorious for getting injured in the most ridiculous situations. He had injured his eye last week on a hardened block of tofu, and his leg a week prior from falling into a random ditch while reading.

This time, he had driven himself off of a cliff while speeding around a mountain path. On the outside, you seemed overwhelmingly irritated, but you were actually filled to the brim with anxiety. You felt like you could barely see as you drove towards the site of the accident and that you wanted to rip your skin off. You were functional enough to drive and find your injured boyfriend, but that was about the limit of your functionality.

You breathed out a sigh of relief when you finally arrived at the location of the wreckage that was formerly Dazai’s car. It was definitely totaled and no longer functional, but from first glance, you could tell that at least Dazai’s life wasn’t in any immediate danger. That was what you cared about.

You scowled as you tugged at the driver’s door, which was slightly bent at the frame, making it harder than usual to open. You glanced through the window and saw Dazai, who was simply nonchalantly sitting in the seat and watching as you were struggling. You didn’t immediately see any injuries other than his right arm—which seemed to have been scratched up—but you couldn’t immediately tell if it was broken or not from this position.

This wasn’t a situation that you were a stranger to. Despite claiming his love and happiness that resulted from being with you, Dazai Osamu still commonly found himself in these situations, in which he failed to die. You had observed early on in your relationship that the reason why it was next to impossible for him to go through with taking his own life was due to his own survival instincts that he had developed since Mori took him into the mafia. He continued to test how far those instincts would go—and you knew that it was only a matter of time before he found an answer.

“You realize that it’s a miracle that you’re getting away with only a wounded arm, right?” you said as you dragged him out from the wrecked car.

From the way he was moving, you could tell that nothing was broken in terms of bones and that he was just heavily scratched up. While you were still incredibly upset and anxious regarding this situation, you were at least able to relax in that no serious injuries had occurred.

Dazai sighed as he used his good arm to grab ahold of your hand to help him stand.

“It seems by some sick act of fate, the opportunity to die has been taken from me again.”

You clenched your jaw at his comment. You weren’t a fool. You knew how horrifically depressed the mafia executive was. You knew that at age 14, Mori Ougai had rescued him from a botched suicide attempt. You knew that suicide and his desire for death consistently followed him everywhere he went. You knew what it was like to be stuck in a place so dark and bleak, that it seems like the only way out is to go to sleep and never wake up again. You understood that, yet you found yourself glad that you were able to rescue him, even if that could have meant that you were keeping him alive against his own will.

You gently sat him down in the back of your own car, trying to move him as carefully as possible, being well-aware of his slight wincing of pain as he maneuvered himself.

“Don’t move,” you said, stepping out of the car.

Dazai quietly groaned to himself, placing his head against the back of the driver’s seat in front of him.

“Why couldn’t you have just left me here to die?”

After a few seconds of silence, he looked up towards you. Your eyebrows scrunched together as you made an irritated face at him.

“You know why,” you said before circling around to the trunk, giving him no further answer.

Your anxiety had fully transitioned into irritation and anger at this point. You couldn’t get over how easily and commonly he threw himself into a situation that put his life on the line. He came into your life, made you fall for him, and got you attached to him, yet he still ran the chance of leaving you permanently every time he pulled a stunt like this. You knew that you wouldn’t really be able to move on—and that’s what pissed you off so much whenever you find him like this.

You got back into the car and shut the door as you set aside some first aid supplies.

Dazai was already completely covered in bandages, with a medical patch on his cheek and a wrapping around his eye. You couldn’t recall a point in time in which he wasn’t injured.

You slightly waved at him, motioning for him to turn and face away from you so you could get a better look at his injured arm.

He made a shrugging motion to push off his coat before unbuttoning his dress shirt so that he could slip his arm out.

Although you were beyond pissed off at him, you couldn’t help but feel your body heat up as you watched him undress. Dazai was scrawny for a Port Mafia member, but he still had a habit of leaving you drooling and weak at the knees with the sight of his arms and chest.

You slightly shook your head to reorient yourself as you began to unwrap his current bandages. You took in the sight of seeing his bare skin, noting that you were never really able to. Even during sex, the bandages stayed. The only time he didn’t have them on was when he was showering.

“_____, since you’re already stripping me down-”

“No,” you interrupted, knowing that he was going to suggest something promiscuous. Although it was next to impossible to deny the fact that you wanted him, you were too pissed off.

Dazai did a small whine as a pout grew on his face.

You let out an exasperated sigh.

“Can you at least let me patch you up and quit complaining?” you asked sternly.

He fell silent as you tossed his old bandages to the side. You grabbed a small bottle of isopropyl alcohol and a cotton pad, preparing to sanitize all of the newly formed scratches on his arm.

“Yes, this will hurt,” you started saying before pausing.

You glanced at him, starting to feel a slight sense of guilt that you were being such a hardass to him.

“But I’ll make it up to you after?” you continued with a small smile.

Dazai quietly hissed in pain as a reaction to you cleaning him up.

“Is this revenge for how much I ravaged you Wednesday night?”

As you were moving to grab the new bandages, you immediately stumbled and dropped the first aid supplies you were currently holding in response to that question.

“Wh-What?!” you said a bit louder than intended as your face suddenly began to turn red.

Dazai only responded with a subtle smirk as he took the upper hand in the conversation by throwing you off.

It didn’t matter that he had narrowly missed a fatal accident. Dazai Osamu was always in control.

In response, you purposely lost all form of gentleness and care as you wrapped the new bandages around his arm with a scowl on your face.

“You’re suddenly quiet,” he said, glancing back at you with a smirk.

“Shush, you’re distracting me,” you said quietly with a focused look on your face as you desperately tried to disperse the heat gathering in your cheeks.

When you finally finished, you turned him around and looked at him, your eyes traveling from his neck to his shoulders and down his chest to make sure there weren’t any other major injuries.

“You checking me out?” he said with a grin.

You rolled your eyes and pushed at him.

“Quit screwing around! Are you really not aware of how much it kills me when you pull shit like this?”

Dazai shut his eyes in pain at your reaction.

“Ah _____-chan, you just patched me up and you’re already injuring me again,” he commented with a whine.

You slightly looked away, feeling all of the irritation and anger within you begin to blend into a chaotic mix of emotions.

“I just don’t know what I would do had you actually died,” you whispered. “I know you always say that you’re bound to lose anything that you want—and that prolonging your life is worthless, but…”

You trailed off as you tried to calm your emotions and formulate what you wanted to say in a coherent way.

After a few seconds of failing to come up with a more elegant way of expressing your emotions, you shook your head as you gave up and looked at him.

“But you being alive is important to me, okay?!” you said as your voice raised in volume. “And I don’t want to force you to live a life that you don’t want and I don’t want to prolong your suffering, but you know what?”

You felt your breath begin to get caught in your throat as tears began building up in your eyes.

“I’m selfish, okay? I’m being a selfish brat because I want you around and I don’t think I’d be able to go on without you and-”

You immediately stopped rambling as you felt your newly bandaged boyfriend press his lips against yours, using his not injured arm to hold the side of your face.

Without pulling away, he pressed his forehead against yours.

“I know, love,” he whispered quietly. “I’m sorry.”

You fell into his embrace as you gripped at his shoulder. You were so overwhelmed with your emotions that you felt yourself shaking.

“I-I just can’t imagine losing you,” you whispered in response. Even the thought of what it would be like if he left you hurt you beyond words. It would be one thing if your relationship didn’t work and he left for that reason. It was another if he left because he ended his own life.

Dazai didn’t respond, and you two sat quietly for a few seconds.

Your breathing slowly stabilized as he pulled you into a hug with that one arm. You relaxed into his embrace, simply appreciating the fact that he was still alive.

“Just don’t leave me here,” you said quietly, fully removing your filter. You were selfish for wanting him around and you didn’t have the emotional energy to guilt yourself for it right now.

“I won’t,” he whispered, with his voice being barely audible. “As long as the light remains in your eyes, I promise I’ll keep going, love.”

You knew that Dazai was not the type to indulge in his own emotions. His attitude was generally annoying beyond belief and he always wore the mask of someone who was recklessly happy, but you were one of the few people that he could unmask around.

That’s how you knew, that although this would not be the last time he found himself in one of these situations, that the words he spoke were true.

In truth, he had found a reason to live in you. Although you attributed his inability to die to his survival instincts, it was only partially true, as your existence provided him with at least some reason to live.

It didn’t matter if he would find himself in another ditch tomorrow or the next day, all that mattered to you—at the moment—was that he was here right now, alive and by your side.

Character of your choice has an S/O with a really strong gift (also your choice) that can easily get out of hand. During an intense fight S/O is forced to use their gift, but it goes haywire and becomes a threat to everyone in the area.

Let's casually ignore the fact that it took me 3 years to write one scenario (I don't even know if this is written well)

A/N: This blog is still on semi-hiatus because I have nearly 100 requests in the askbox and I don't know how regularly I can actually post, but I will also be taking requests at my personal blog here where it is hopefully a little less cluttered. I appreciate any of you that actually interact with this post! <3

Chuuya knew better than anyone what having an overpowered ability was like. He could no longer remember the amount of times that he had lost control when he activated Corruption, and the amount of times that the ability was canceled out by that bandaged asshole the moment before he was consumed by his ability entirely.

However, Dazai wasn't here now. There was no one to stop either of you if your abilities ran out of control.

"_____!" Chuuya yelled out as he watched you get thrown across the field.

You cursed to yourself as you oriented yourself after skidding across the ground and slamming into one of the trees surrounding the field. This was supposed to be an easy mission. The ability users in this enemy organization had nothing on you. There were no extraordinarily powerful abilities and they had small numbers.

Yet both you and the mafia executive were struggling to stand your ground.

You slowly stood back up, stumbling as you struggled to regain some sense of stability. You looked down at your body and a dark look fell upon your face as you saw your body start to slightly glow.

Your ability was not one that could be consciously activated. While it could decide the outcome of a battle in an instant, the threat of it running amok always kept you from letting yourself fall into a state of being forced to use it - and the few times that you were forced to use it, you could not stop it.

Similar to how Chuuya had to rely on Dazai to stop him from being consumed by Corruption, you once had to rely on the former executive to avoid completely wreaking havoc on the environment around you.

The wind picked up around you as you stood up with an empty look in your eyes.

This isn't an enemy I can just brute force my way through. Whatever consequences there, I have no choice but to accept them.

You shot into the air at supersonic speeds, with winds resembling a tornado following your path. When you came back down, there was an immense explosion that centered at where the enemy was positioned.

The battle didn't last for very long after that.

However, the defeat of these enemy ability users didn't mean that it was the end. An eerie glow could be seen through the dust with a vague figure showing from the center of the blast.

The trees slowly began to be ripped apart by the wind that was ravaging through the field. Your subordinates that had abilities were able to keep themselves grounded with their own abilities. Your subordinates that did not have abilities were not so lucky.

"Shit," Chuuya said to himself, his coat and hat falling off of him as he used his ability to leap towards you. "_____!"

You heard him, but you also didn't. Some part of you was able to process that he was there and approaching, but you didn't have enough control to be able to respond.

The terrain immediately surrounding you began to get levitated into the air and launched itself towards him. You vaguely glanced at him as he dodged, blocked, and punched through the debris with his own ability.

When he finally broke through, you raised your hand to prepare to throw him across the field that would kill any normal person from the impact.

However, your hand stopped right before striking him as he placed his hand on your shoulders.

"The enemy's defeated," he said quietly, despite the roaring wind. "You can rest now."

His words shouldn't have been able to reach you. They weren't even audible. Yet, you simply looked straight into his eyes without moving a muscle.

"Come home to me, _____."

He looked straight into your eyes with a determined look on his face that was softening the longer you two locked eyes.

"I know how hard it is to control. I know how good it feels to fall into it and let it consume you, but you are, and always will be, more than just your power."

Your lips slightly parted, as if you were trying to respond.

"Come home."

With those decisive words, a final strong gust of wind blew across the field centering at you before completely dying down. You collapsed forward into his arms, barely able to keep yourself standing. Your breath was hot and shaky and you felt like every cell in your body was threatening to fall apart.

"Y-You're a dumbass," you said quietly, gripping at his shoulders.

It shouldn't have been possible. There was no Dazai to cancel out your ability. Every single possibility involved your body tearing itself apart from your ability. Yet here you were, falling into Chuuya's embrace, having grounded yourself and finding yourself within the chaos that was the special ability that you didn't ask for.

"If we're being honest with each other," he said, pulling back a little so he could see your face, "I think it was worth being a dumbass if it meant bringing you back."

Chuuya knew better than anyone what it was like to have an overpowered ability that was impossible to control. Because of that, he was determined to bring you back if you ever lost control. He didn't know if he would succeed, but he knew that he was willing to throw everything away for even the miniscule chance of bringing you back to him.
